the large group were currently on their way to practice. the place was located pretty far from the HQ.at first hyeji was confused as to why they would bring her along but then learned they probably didn't trust her alone at the quarter.
fortunately, they said if she were to behave, they would let the girl try a few things.
when they had arrived, hyeji was brought aback by the state of the place. her eyes wandered around at the torn down building. it was completely made of stone and cement. no doors and the ceiling reached for the skies. the only source of light coming from massive holes on the side of the building. the side where a table with different tech devices were placed.
there were no separate rooms as it was all shared in this one space. targets and weapons placed on the left and mats were placed on the right along with what seemed to be a weight room and obstacle course.
are they training for the army??? the girl thought.
"woahhhh."
everyone began to spread out and got to doing their things.
there stood next to her, heeseung.
"i know its a bit beaten up but thats because this used to be an abandoned building before we put it to use. each of the members have their own skills which they're good at but they've been trained to do everything. for example, niki may specialized in combat but he's also extremely good with guns, it's just what they all preferred. whereas jungwon opts for a mix of multiple skills, he and yeonjun are our aces, second in command when i'm not around." heeseung informed.
"now i'll get going to practice. since you like boxing, i guess you could head over to the mat and watch them." he points before walking away.
hyeji proceeded to walk towards the group of boys, watching hueningkai and niki fight as the rest of them observe.
it was a tough match and boy where they good. each of them took turns as they exchange blows and punches, trying not to injure each other of course.
this was even better than boxing, there were no rules. hyeji really wanted to try it out and it seemed jay had read her mind from the way she was looking at the two.
it was pure bliss.
"alright that's a wrap. it seems you guys are both winners like always. hyeji do you want to try it out?"
"what?" she gleamed at the boys' invitation.
"ayyy woah woah no." soobin interrupted, his lips unconsciously rest in a pout as he waves a finger in disagreement.
"wait no pleaseeee let me go. i promise i'll be careful." the girl pleaded with puppy eyes.
"......"
"okay go ahead. you can go with me." jay said hearing no response from the latter.
he gestures hyeji to get on the mat before the two were interrupted.
"no i want to go with her." all heads turn to the direction of the boy that walked their direction.
"i demand a rematch." he smiled, his cockiness coming out of every hole in his body.
quickly taking her shoes off, she ran to the center of the mat, bouncing on her toes rather hastily in excitement with her fists up, not giving soobin another chance to say a word.
it's been a while since hyeji was last able to fight fight.
jungwon did the same as he made his way to the eager girl.
like before, he was significantly larger than her. it seemed like a big disadvantage along with the fact that he trained in a gang as well. now that he no longer had to follow any rules, he knew he would beat her. unlike last time where he was too focused following the rules.
but she was a professional boxer. she was going to prove to them all she was and was going to go all out. no rules remember?
it had been a while since she last boxed and worked out. bouncing on her toes she loosened all her stiff limbs and pulled her hair back into a low messy bun.
a giggle left her lips. she was thrilled, although, reminded herself to go easy since there was a wound threatening to split open.
"aaand go!" jay shouts.
"alrighttttt!" the girl cheered.
both of them kept eye contact as they circled around the mat.
jungwon made the first move, moving forward, he swings at the girl.
hyeji quickly dodges it, grabbing his arm and spinning him around to kick his back resulting in him landing on his knees.
"OOOOHHH LETS GOOO AHAHAH!" yeonjun cheered on.
everyone began to gather around the mat, their attention attached on the younger girl fighting their fellow member.
jungwon quickly gets back up and turns to face the girl again. this time she made her move.
sending a side kick, the latter was unable to process it before the girl sent a punch to his jaw.
his hands reached to the jaw that ensued the pain from her fist.
the girl then delivers a rear leg front kick to the boys face before he could get up, causing his face to turn upward as he falls to his back.
"oh damn." the boys winces at the scene, soobin cringing at every step hyeji took.
he didn't stay down for long before getting back up again.
running to the smaller girl, he performed a move called the rolling knee bar. grabbing her leg, he turned away before flipping the girl over him and twisting her leg in lock, causing the girl to grunt.
"JUNGWON!" soobin yelled.
letting go, she briskly got up and stables herself, wincing before catching a breath.
"jungwon." jake calls out, throwing him, what seems to be a shiv, also known as a knife.
everyone watches as the boy runs up to the girl swinging the knife under her to stab her in the gut but before he could, she uses a wrist block, grabbing his wrist before twisting it, using her other hand to push his shoulders down. she places her knee on his back to keep him down as she hits his wrist on the mat as the weapon leaves his grip.
"that's cheating!"
"its fake." the boy sighs in defeat.
"looks like we're about to get jungwon a replacement." sunghoon jokes as the others follow in laughter.
