Miraculous One Shots

One Year Later

AN: This story is a two shot! But thank you all so much for the love and support so far! I'm working on more stories as we go along, and I'm sorry if I dont post constantly, but I'll try to do more now that summer is approaching! Enjoy Part 1!

Heart pounding, and police sirens blaring in the distance, she ran as fast as she could, and as far away from those soul searching amethyst eyes as possible.

Marinette Dupain Cheng had just had the craziest scare in her life! She had heard a year ago about the akumatization of her partner Chat Noir, but had never seen him in person after that... until tonight! The bluenettle was freaking out already because she couldn't find her way home, but when the white leather bound man had turned, ready to destroy anything and everything, his amethyst eyes had interlocked with her bluebell ones. They held eye contact for a few seconds before Cat Blanc jumped away over Paris's rooftops.

So now, Marinette was panicking hard, and trying to find her way back to her apartment, but she was apparently lost. The bluenette was looking around confused. Surely, she hadn't gone too far! The young designer hadn't been gone for twenty minutes! She tried to find a familiar place, anything that looked remotely familiar. But all of the streets looked the same! Yep! She was definitely lost!

So, Marinette decided to stop at a random light post near an alleyway to catch her breath. But, not long after she stopped running, she could hear a low husky voice farther down the dark alleyway!

"Well, that sure was a fun game of cat and mouse! Wouldn't you say so Princess?" He chuckled. Marinette froze, instantly recognizing the voice of her sweet kitty. But he is too far out of her reach now. He's a supervillain with the power of ultimate destruction! She backed away slowly, terrified. But Cat Blanc didn't approach her. He just sighed sadly as he watched her terrified face.
"Am I really that scary Princess? I'm still the same cat, just a lot more powerful and in control of his emotions."
Marinette shook her head, because it had been a year since she had heard that nickname."N-no! I just... don't believe it's y-you! I haven't seen you in months! I waited on my balcony every night for a long time, hoping that you'd at least come back at least once more to say goodbye. Do-do you still love me Chat?" She started to tear up, but tried oh so hard to hide it.

The fact that Marinette Dupain Cheng and Chat Noir had dated had been kept a secret between the two of them and Marinette's parents. Cat Blanc looked taken aback at the question, if more at the tears falling down her face, which he could see because of his night vision.

"Wha- Marinette! Of course I do! I never came to your balcony because I was in hiding for a long time. I thought that you knowing I couldn't resist Hawkmoth, and it being so long since we last saw each other, I thought you would've moved on. . . . . That's another reason I didn't come. I couldn't bare the thought of you with another guy, so I didn't come to save myself the humiliation. I never wanted to hurt you my Princess!" He wiped one of her last tears from the brim of her eyes with those white leather gloves of his.

Marinette sniffed "But then, aren't you still under his control?" Marinette backed away a step or two in fear of her identity being exposed, and that he was just talking to her like this to let her guard down. But when she saw his face fall after her retreat, she knew in her heart that he was being genuine. "I'm sorry, I 'm just not used to seeing you like... this" the bluenettle gestures to the white leather suit.

Cat looked like he was also on the verge of tears, so Marinette asked him what was wrong. "It's just, I broke out of Hawkmoth's control! I followed him to his hideout, and took his miraculous from him before he could take away my akuma. I came out tonight to find Ladybug, and give her Nooroo back. And that's when the police spotted me!"

Marinette looked at her partner partially shocked, then hugged him tight. She had been scared for nothing. "I 'm so sorry you had to go through all of that alone. You know, you're always welcome at my place right? My parents love you... I love you" Marinette choked out.
