Who knows me knows that I am a sucker for realistic stories. I love them and they help me feel like I'm not the only lost soul in a big world.
This book may not seem like it at the start but as you dig in and the characters start to be shaped more sharply, you'll see what I mean.
You'll see this is a book about mistakes, about our minds and about how the way they work affect us. It's a book about forgiving, about loving, about everything we weren't teached and just we're lead by a natural form of intuition.
This is the kind of book to grow with and the ending couldn't be more perfect.

*****
Everyone knows the town of Godfrey has a street kid problem, but Elliot Wexler, high school student and hockey prodigy, never thought he'd see one in the flesh - at least not in his dad's shed. Despite the fact that Lucy is a thief, scavenger and certified street rat, Elliot sees something in her he's never seen in anyone else. But the closer Elliot gets to Lucy, the further she falls from her old life - and when shadows come knocking at their door, Elliot learns the truth: Lucy was never on the streets to be wild or free. Lucy's running from a dangerous past, one that puts Elliot and his family in the crossfire.
