Mazikeen had spent the entirety of last week going from party to party with Eve by her side. She had waited too long for the day where she would be able to be seen by her, and that day had finally come.

But the question kept popping up why she wasn't particularly feeling happy.

It had been easy, hiding behind the club's blinding lights, her face buried in Eve's as they made out. However, the uneasiness had finally reached its climax point.

'Maze, I appreciate you coming to me but we won't get anywhere if you don't start talking.'

Linda is impatiently tapping her notebook and has been doing so for the past five minutes. Maze had come in without prior notice and since Linda had another client coming in within the hour, there wasn't any time for a tight-lipped demon.

'So ...' Mazikeen begins. Linda's eyebrows shoot up, anticipating her words. 'Eve is back.'

'That's amazing!' Seeing her friend look down at her feet, Linda hesitatingly adds, 'Right?'

She looks back up but continues to evade Linda's gaze, now plucking at her nails. 'I don't know,' she says curtly.

Linda puts aside her notebook, not getting anywhere with it anyway, and urges Maze to look at her. 'Is there anything that disappoints you about her return? Something you had hoped for that didn't happen?'

This makes the demon think. 'No. It's been ...' Remembering the first time she tasted Eve's lips the night she returned, Maze longingly bites her lip. 'It's been amazing.'

'But?'

'I don't know.'

Seeing her friend in such a state of confusion, Linda couldn't help but feel bad. However, she could already guess part of the problem. 'How is Ella?'

Mazikeen tenses up. 'How did you know about that?' She snarls.

Problem confirmed, Linda thinks. 'I don't know anything but perhaps I should.' When Maze doesn't drop her distant attitude, she adds: 'You dropped her name when you came over at night a while ago. Remember?'

She only vaguely remembers but nods anyway. 'It's nothing, honestly. It's just that- We made out one night.'

Linda's expression upon hearing this is one of excitement and happiness. Normally, Mazikeen would boast about things like this but for once, she feels uncomfortable at Linda's reaction.

'We made out. We had a fight. We met up. We made out. We talked. And now Eve's back.'

'I have to say, that's surprisingly healthy for you. What exactly did you two talk about? Your fight?'

Maze shakes her head. 'Well, we had started talking about Eve, and then she walked in.'

The pride she felt for her friend slowly disappeared. 'In retrospect, you didn't actually talk about anything?'

'We almost did!' Maze yells in defense but she realizes she must seem like a complete failure.

Linda is about to try and drag the words out of Mazikeen again when the demon looks her straight in the eyes, indicating she is finally ready to properly talk.

'Linda. I've waited so long for Eve to come back, and so long to be loved by someone. I almost thought I had found someone who wouldn't mind my not having a heart or a soul, but who would still trust me to love them back. I thought she was the one and for a time, I regretted becoming attached to Ella. But I think I might have been wrong. Eve is everything I want but ...' She shuts up.

'But she's not what you need?' Linda helps and with tears in her eyes, Mazikeen nods her head.

Amidst her breakdown, someone slams open the door.

'Lucifer! What are you doing here?' Linda asks surprised, instantly regretting asking Lucifer anything. Now she was stuck with two supernatural beings who needed advice and would most likely scare away her other client if they weren't satisfied by the end of the hour.

And indeed, Lucifer quickly takes place next to Mazikeen, who is eyeing him with a murderous look, obviously trying to hide the fact that her cheeks are still wet with tears.

'Linda, I need you to help me figure out what my Dad is planning.'

Maze clicks her tongue. 'Of course, when I question his intentions, you laugh at me. And then when I need Linda, you come barging in with your daddy issues? Get out, Lucifer!'

Lucifer mouths to Linda: What's the matter with her?

She shakes her head and turns to Maze. 'I understand that you feel horrible right now, but you ought to talk to them. Both of them. Be honest and open about how you're feeling. It's okay to miss someone in your life. Just tell her.'

'Is this about Eve?' Lucifer asks curiously.

Before Mazikeen could snap at him, Linda answers: 'That's confidential. Moving on to you, Lucifer. Why do you think your ... your Dad is planning anything?'

'You haven't heard?' Maze asks, her emotions quickly masked away again. 'Lucifer will take his daddy's place!'

Linda remains confused until Lucifer shouts: 'I'm the new God!'

All of her logic and reason crashes for a whole minute as she thinks: I know God. I have given God advice all these years. And then the biggest thing hits: I had sex with God. Will that make me go to Heaven or Hell?

Before going into an entire identity crisis, as Ella had, Linda pretends she isn't surprised but in all honesty, she is.

'Congratulations!' She says. 'Does that mean... Did He die?'

At that moment, Lucifer's phone rang.

'Give me a second,' he says, checking his phone. 'It's the Detective.'

'Hello, Detective!' Lucifer mumbles 'yes' and 'mhm' a couple of times before he anxiously jumps up. 'She's what? Since when? We'll be right over. Call me if you get any news!'

Linda frowns. 'What's wrong?'

Lucifer looks at her and then at Maze and then back. 'It's Ms Lopez. She's missing.'

Mazikeen has never felt this sick before and within five seconds, she bolts out the door.
