She couldn't help but let out a small chuckle once Clark pulled out a notepad from his jacket. Were all farm boys this cute? With the strange way he was acting she didn't doubt he'd write down where the bathroom was at this pace.

"Don't worry so much Smallville. You'll get to do plenty of writing in a bit. Save the space."

Maybe she was going a little too fast. It wasn't easy being the new guy around and she definitely didn't want to add to the difficulty. Specially since Perry takes up all the right to be a hardass for himself. Although, that's probably what made him the best. It wasn't hard to believe Clark might have spotted Jimmy before. That man seemed to be everywhere at once, more so when he accepted a challenge. The reporter crossed her arms with a scoff at the comment.

"He's definitely avoiding the cameras, there's no doubt about it. I've never seen Jimmy struggle so much before, so there's no other explanation. Every bad thing that happens in the city he's trying to reach before Superman does just for a picture, and I've been telling him he'll get himself hurt. Reckless, idiotic and all that, but it's one of the reasons I love this place. It's not just an office job." She shrugs with a satisfied expression, speaking with ease about her ambitions with someone who might feel the same. He was here after all, wasn't he? "If you don't get into some risks, make some important people angry from time to time, are you really making a difference? So a heads-up for that. If it's not your cup of tea there's always other sections of the paper, but you've had the unfortunate fortune of applying for investigative reporting."

Lois finally stopped after completing a path around the office, leaning on an empty desk in front of her own and listening as Clark spoke of his hometown. She felt an odd sense of pride once he said he was enjoying Metropolis. It wasn't easy to see its charm if you're not from around, but he seemed to manage.

"Stuff is definitely one of the highlights of the city. Most top ten attractions for tourists always starts with stuff."

The woman turned to signal to his new desk, leaving an opening for any questions he might have so far. Instead, she got a comment she wouldn't have expected in a hundred years. Colorful. Right. It was pretty colorful. Lois had had some time now to take it in, rediscovering each environment she frequented in a new light. Yet it came with a bitter-sweet feeling of loneliness. Colors were wonderful, but they were supposed to mean something even more so. She didn't want to complain, really, it was unlike her. But she had very much intentionally been avoiding this subject. Her soulmate was out there and she'd have no way of knowing if they ever bumped against each other on the street. Her excited demeanor faded slightly as Lois assumed a more professional stance. Why did he even have to say that anyway? Was he just showing off?

"I guess it is. Well, this is your desk Clark, as you can see I'm right across from you. If you have any questions let me know."
