The Panda and the Turtle (Book 1)

Chapter 21: Po and Vee vs Tai Lung

Tai Lung turned to find Po and Vee who stood in the doorway, as Vee aimed an arrow from her bow at him while Po gasped for breath.

"Huff... huff... huff... Stairs... huff..." Po said.

"Maybe I should've used a teleport spell." Vee muttered.

Tai Lung stared at the panda and the turtle kunoichi.

"Who are you?" Tai Lung asked.

"I'm the turtle sorceress and this is my best friend." Vee replied.

"Buddy... I... am the Dragon Warrior!" Po added before he exhaled hard. "Huhhh..."

Tai Lung is in amused disbelief.

"You? Him? Her?" Tai Lung chuckled as he tossed Shifu aside. "He's a panda." He turned back to Po. "You're a panda. What are
you gonna do, big guy? Sit on me?"

"Don't tempt me." Po warned before he turned to Vee. "I got this."

Vee backed up as Po got into his stance.

"Haha. No. I'm gonna use this!" Po said as he pulled out the Dragon Scroll. "You want it? Come and get it."

From out of nowhere, Tai Lung punched Po across the room, as he grabbed the scroll knocked from Po's paws.

"Finally...AH!" Tai Lung said.

Po bounced off a nearby pillar and slammed back into Tai Lung, that sent him to fly into a column. Tai Lung recovered, astonished. Surprised that he had actually landed a blow, Po put on a brave face and stroke a pose.

"My turn." Vee said.

Vee shot an arrow at Tai Lung, who caught the arrow and snapped it in half. But Vee used her magic to manifest the snapped arrow into two wooden clubs and used them to telekinetically hit him with the clubs.

"That was fun." Vee smiled before she got in her fighting stance.

Tai Lung charged at them on all fours. Po turned to run.

"Oh... WOW!" Po yelped.

Tai Lung quickly caught up and they both sailed off the palace steps. Vee used her powers to race down after them. Po clinged to the scroll as Tai Lung delivered a punch and sent him to crash onto the arena rooftops below and bounced off into a tree. Tai Lung roared and pounced; Po rolled down off a tree and used the recoil to whip back and smashed Tai Lung. He briefly skid across the rooftop and came right back at Po. He knocked Po down the long flight of stairs and chased after him.

"Po!" Vee exclaimed.

"That scroll is mine!" Tai Lung yelled.

Down the stairs, Po and Tai Lung grapple for the scroll. Po was oblivious to the effects of crashing down stairs and in slow motion, his voluminous butt pressed down on Tai Lung's head. As they crashed through the gateway to the village the scroll is knocked loose. Po was separated from Tai Lung and crashed into a noodle cart. Tai Lung went for the scroll but Po snatched it away as he used a noodle lasso. The scroll flew towards him and bounced off his head. Tai Lung leapt for it, but Po grabbed his tail and pulled him back down onto a cart which see-sawed Po into the air. In mid-air, Po slurped the noodle. Vee caught the scroll in her hands, but she was confronted by Tai Lung.

"Jeez, how fast can you go?" Vee questioned.

"I've trained countless months to develop unique skills..." Tai Lung stated.

"How about less gloating and start fighting, whiskers." Vee interrupted.

As Vee and Tai Lung performed hand to hand combat against each other, Po landed in a grove of bamboo trees and into a nearby wok shop up and over the rooftops. Tai Lung performed a palm strike at Vee's hand, that caused the scroll to fly out of Vee's hand and landed inside a lantern, then it tumbled out and rolled to a stop in the street. Vee quickly ran to the scroll, but she was pulled back by Tai Lung and knocked into an array of China bowls. As Tai Lung made his move on the scroll, Po sent a wok into his face, and turned the array of overturned woks into a shell game, that slid the woks around at top speed to hide the scroll.
