Amelia Potters Point of View

"Get up!" Petunia banged on the door of me and my brother's room which was the cupboard under the stairs. I turned on the lights and Harry and I got out.

Harry went to go make breakfast as I walked outside and checked the mail, I was reading to who it was from. I saw my brother name on a white envelope, and then behind it was the same envelope but with my name. I scoffed in disbelief, grabbing the rest of the mail and walked back inside, I handed the mail to my uncle but kept mine.

"Look, daddy! They got mail!" Dudley started to freak out.

"what is it?"

I started to open mine until he stopped me, "I never said you could open it."

I handed it to him and he started to read it and ordered his son to throw it away. I rolled my eyes and helped Harry with the food, glancing at Dudley yelling and throwing a tantrum about how the presents were simply not enough wasn't for his birthday.

a few hours later

Harry and I finally got to go out with them to his stupid birthday party at the zoo. There was this snake the Dursleys were trying to wake up.

"He's asleep!" I said to him as the big child who calls himself my cousin bangs on the window. I then began talking to it, so did Harry. It then shook his head after I asked a question. The snake nodded vigorously.

Narrator Pov

"Where do you come from, anyway?" Amelia's brother asked the snake. The snake jabbed itself at a little sign next to the glass. The twins peered at it.

Boa Constrictor, Brazil.

"Hm. . .Was it nice there?"

The boa constrictor jabbed its tail at the sign again and they read on: This specimen was bred in the zoo.

"Oh, I see — so you've never been to Brazil?"

As the snake shook its head, a deafening shout behind Harry and Amelia made all of them jump.

"DUDLEY! MR. DURSLEY! COME AND LOOK AT THIS SNAKE! YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT IT'S DOING!" the friend of their cousin screamed. Their fat cousin came waddling toward them as fast as he could.

"Out of the way, you," he said, punching Harry in the ribs. Harry had fallen on the hard concrete floor, full of surprise.

Amelia grew angry, she wasn't going to allow him to be mean to her brother anymore. But she didn't know what to do. But she was done, and she wanted revenge, maybe she could poison his food. But where would she get poison other than rat poison.

What came next happened so fast no one saw how it happened — one second, Piers and Dudley were leaning right up close to the glass, the next, they had leapt back with howls of horror.

Harry sat up and the twins gasped; the glass front of the boa constrictor's tank had vanished. The great snake was uncoiling itself rapidly, slithering out onto the floor. People throughout the reptile house screamed and started running for the exits.

As the snake slid swiftly past the two twins Harry could have sworn a low, hissing voice said, "Brazil, here I come. . . . Thanksss, amigossss."

The keeper of the reptile house was in shock. "But the glass," he kept saying, "where did the glass go?" The zoo director himself made Aunt Petunia a cup of strong, sweet tea while he apologized over and over and over again.

Piers and Dudley could only gibber. As far as Harry had seen, the snake hadn't done anything except snap playfully at their heels as it passed, but by the time they were all back in Uncle Vernon's car, Dudley was telling them how it had nearly bitten off his leg, while Piers was swearing it had tried to squeeze him to death.
