Chapter 4
"Leave me alone." I glared at him.
"That's the thing," He walked towards me, making me walk back until I hit a tree. "I don't have to."
I didn't reply. Dylan trapped me between his arms.
"You're mine." He pushed his chest into me.
"I'm not anybody's." He laughed at me.
Paws came thundering towards us and he turned, getting in a protective stance. I shoved past him and waited.
Faye and Xavier appeared in wolf forms, both disappearing behind a tree to shift. When they appeared I ran to Xavier. He caught me with ease and twirled me around.
I was yanked out of his hold. Dylan's eyes were black and he snarled at Xavier.
"An Alpha?" I nodded yes to Xavier.
Xavier pulled Faye behind him protectively. I leaned against Dylan's chest and he wrapped his arms around me.
Faye laughed at me and walked next to Xavier.
"I know how you're alive," I looked at Faye. "But I don't know how you are." I continued, directing the end of my sentence to Xavier.
"I was fighting with the pack, and I heard Faye calling for help through our link, so I ran to find her. The fight was over by the time I made it back,"
He stared at Faye lovingly.
"I had managed to avoid or kill all opposing wolves that got in my way. When I got to the room your dad put you in, I freaked. I couldn't find either of you. Then I remembered that hidden door. I opened it and Faye was knocked out. You were nowhere to be seen. The other pack had just got up and left."
I rubbed the back of my neck.
"Do you remember anything?" I asked Faye.
"I remember us arguing, but I don't know what it was about. And I remember noise, a lot of noise until it just stopped. What happened Haylee?"
"Well," I trailed off. Faye looked at me with hopeful eyes and I took a deep breath. "I knocked you out."
"Why?" She gasped. Xavier growled.
"You were refusing to go into the hidden room, so I made you. I remember you told me that they'd suspect something if no one was in the room we were in. So I knocked you out and fought with the wolves who wanted to take you."
"Why'd they want her?" Dylan asked from my side.
"She was engaged before she met Xavier. Her father, our Alpha, didn't want her marrying a common warrior wolf, like Xavier. He set an arranged marriage between her and an Alpha's son. Faye managed to talk some sense into my father, our Beta, and he helped hide Faye the week their marriage was to take place. Her father found out, and killed my father, which sent our pack into a downfall."
"Then," Faye continued for me, "The other pack decided to take me by force. My father, being an Alpha, didn't like this. So he hid me, and ordered Haylee to protect me when they attacked."
Dylan growled.
"And that's exactly what I did."
"Why did they take you?" Xavier asked.
"Something about me being able to produce a strong heir." I shrugged my shoulders.
"Mine!" Dylan snarled.
"But you never gave them a heir. Right?"
"I refused, and they got tired of me."
Xavier nodded. Dylan's chest was still vibrating. Faye motioned for me to come closer and I obliged.
