13: Something's Wrong

Class 1-A were currently in the first lesson of the day. Aizawa was teaching when he got a phone call, interrupting him. He sighed and grabbed his phone from his back pocket, unlocking the screen to see the caller. He stared at it for a moment before answering.

"Hello?" He stepped out of the classroom and closed the door behind him. "Yes, this is Shota Aizawa. What is it you called me for?" He asked in an annoyed tone. When he heard what the person on the other line had to say his eyes widened and he nearly dropped his phone. "Yes, I'm still here." He replied after a minute. "I'll be there as soon as possible." He hung up and pulled the phone away from his ear, rubbing his temples with his right hand.

Aizawa walked back into class and looked at the curious students. "I have to leave early. Iida, you're in charge until your next course." And with that he walked back out, leaving a room full of confusion.

"Uh for now let's study with the extra time we have!" Iida suggested after a few seconds.

About thirty minutes after the call, Aizawa made it to the hospital. He tried his best to stay calm while he walked inside to the front desk. He asked the lady for the correct room number and directions, then made his way there.

As he opened the door to the room he saw a tall male figure sleeping in the bed with machines hooked up to him. He stepped into the room and closed the door. The raven haired man walked over to the edge of the bed and looked down at Daiki.

A doctor stepped into the room and when he saw Aizawa he immediately smiled. He had short amber hair and heterochromia eyes, the left being a bright yellow, and the other lime green. "Hello." He said cheerfully. Aizawa turned to him to give him his full attention. "I'm Akuma Kido, Daiki Aikawa's doctor. Are you a relative?" He held his clipboard with a firm grip, walking closer to Aizawa.

"No, I'm not. He doesn't have any. What... happened to him?" Aizawa was not one to hesitate, but when it came to things like this he was slightly concerned to hear the answer because of Daiki's condition. To say that he was pissed would be an understatement, but he had to have an understanding of what happened and who could have done it.

For Daiki's condition, his lungs were lightly damaged, he had cuts up and down his body, an opening on the right side of his stomach, stab wounds, and a large cut that ran from the left side of his mouth to his right ear. The large cut overlapped the scar from the USJ attack, the one that went from the right side of his chin to his cheekbone.

"Well, apparently he was attacked, kidnapped, tortured, and left to die behind a cat cafe." The doctor pulled Aizawa from his thoughts by answering the nerve racking question. 'It definitely looks like he was tortured.' Aizawa thinks.

"Have you called anyone else?" He asked, looking back at Daiki.

"No, we only called the most recent number." The doctor replied. When he didn't get a reply he looked up at Aizawa. "I'll let you have some time." He said and stepped out of the room.

Aizawa grips the edge of the bed tightly as he clenches his teeth. "Damnit." He mumbles.

"Hey old man, you said that Mr. Aikawa would only be out one day." Bakugo stated as he checked the time to see that it was passed the time of the other teacher's usual arrival. It was obvious that the students were worried because of another absence of the shapeshifter. Today would be the third day without Daiki Aikawa.

"Yeah well, other complications came up." Aizawa sighed while rubbing his temples.

"Other complications?" Jiro repeated.

"Mhm." Aizawa hummed. "Daiki Aikawa is in the hospital." He sighed again. Gasps and shouts were heard from the children as they worried even more.

"Mr. Aizawa, what do you mean he's in the hospital? What happened?" Asui spoke over everyone else, quieting them down.

"He was attacked two nights ago and found behind a cafe the next morning, he's been in the hospital since. His condition hasn't gotten worse, but hasn't gotten any better either." Aizawa explained and the class listened closely.

"Isn't he supposed to be a pro or something?!" Bakugo shouted as he stood up from his chair, making it create a squeaky noise as it slid against the floor. Explosions came out of his palms while he gritted his teeth in frustration. "How the hell could he let a villain beat him up that badly?!" He was more than furious and he showed that by creating more explosions and raising his voice.

Aizawa activated his quirk and used his scarf on Bakugo. The boy struggled as he growled. "The police think he was caught off guard and that the villain who attacked him used their quirk on him." Aizawa told, releasing Bakugo once he stopped struggling and calmed down a little bit.

Bakugo sat back down in his seat and crossed his arms, mumbling a 'whatever'. Kirishima and Midoriya looked at him with concern.

"Don't worry, Mr. Aikawa. I'll make sure you'll be just fine." The same venomous voice from before whispered into Daiki's ear as he laid in his hospital bed.
