One year later I'm sitting in the third and final library. I'm currently reading the only book left in this house I haven't read, apart from Moriko's Diary. I heard the doorbell ring, I quickly read the last few pages put the book down, and ran to the door, as I open the door Jōichirō walks in. "Ready to leave little lady?" Jōichirō asked I nodded excitedly, "Moriko! Jōichirō's here!" I yell at Moriko as he walked out of his office yawning.Suki's POV
Moriko walked out of his office looking like he had just woken up by the way his hair was everywhere. I suppressed a laugh, Jōichirō looked at me expectantly as if to tell me something. "Why don't you go pack some stuff okay?" Moriko told me, I ran to my room and took a bag from the floor. I packed all I thought was necessary and then some of the stuff that wasn't so necessary. I walked back to the entrance where they were last, they weren't there. They were in the kitchen waiting for me to come back. Moriko gave me puppy dog eyes begging silently for food, I sighed and prepared some fresh ingredients, preheated the oven, and then baked some apple pie, we ate in peace, playful banter between the three of us, after a few hours of sitting and catching up, Jōichirō yawns, stretches and stands up, "Ready to leave, kid?" Jōichirō said with another yawn, I nod my head and grab my suitcase, hug Moriko goodbye and leave with Jōichirō.
We drive for quite a while before we get into the city, he drives us to a hotel and we go in, he tells me to wait here while he goes to his and his son's restaurant to go and tell him that I was going to be there for a while until I go to the local school, that was the plan.
Jōichirō came back a while later saying his son was angry that he didn't say anything before he had gone to pick me up and whatnot.
~~Time skip, One year later~~
I was working in the kitchen with Jōichirō and Soma when a business lady came into the restaurant and started to talk to Soma like he owned the place and could just give it away if he wanted to - which he didn't. The lady handed him her business card, he took it and tossed it onto the charcoal-burner, it shriveled up and was gone within seconds. I looked up from cleaning off the stove when the door opened and the angry lady walked out, what was up with that? I wondered to myself. I've already been here for a year school is fun, I've been in it for a year, I'm going into the third year soon.
The next day was my first day of school, grade 3, I loved going somewhere every day to learn stuff. I excused myself from the kitchen and went to the temporary room that they had set up for me.
~~The Next day~~
I woke up early and started preparing the kitchen for Jōichirō when he got up, I wrote a note to both of them explaining that I went to school already and not to worry about me.
I walked up to the cooking school it wasn't the best and I already knew a lot more of this stuff we were just going over knife safety and bacterial growth, I wanted to know more about spices from overseas and all the types of vegetables that go well with chicken but looks like I'm going to have to wait. I walk into class and prepare to read the book, again, the teacher wasn't there yet so I just sat there reading.
The teacher got here finally and we went over the book. I was bored staring at the ceiling spacing out as the teacher called my name, after the third attempt someone tapped my shoulder and pointed at sensei. "Suki, dear are you paying attention?" she asked I looked at her with a bored expression on my face and say " Sensei, when will we be able to cook?" she looks at me and then at her schedule, "next week, why?" she asked in return, "my head hurts from you talking about this stuff when can I cook?" I ask again, she looks at me like I just killed her cat. "Suki, go to the office please, I don't like the attitude your giving me," she told me I sighed and started to walk to the office.
When I got to the office I knocked on the door and waited till I heard a "Come in" I open the door and wait to be noticed the director tells me to sit so I do, "so, what can I help you with little one?" he asked me "I asked Ling-Sensei a question and she sent me here" I say with little emotion, I was bored. "Well, what did you ask her?" he asked, "I asked when we were going to start cooking" I respond blandly, he looks at me like I was going to explode, What is it with all the weird looks I only asked a question, I think to myself.
I was sent back to class after a while, He mentioned calling a friend of his who could probably help, I didn't know with what but oh well.
~~Time skip~~
It was the next week already and we were put into groups of at least four, I work better alone but oh well, my team was in charge of making Sushi, which was basic and simple, so I decided I was going to use gastronomy, none of my teammates cared what I was doing over in the corner of the kitchen they left for me and honestly I didn't mind. I made little sushi droplets and placed them in the bowl with the rice that I was going to use, I did the same with the veggies, and then started to make the sushi rolls themselves, I put the seaweed flavored drops into the rice first and then the veggie ones, I then shaped it into a sushi roll and then waited for everyone else to be done, Because I finished first.
When everyone was done it looked like someone murdered a rice man in their kitchens, I looked to see that mine were the only presentable ones, I mean I guess that's what I expect from 9-year-olds.
