No One's POV

Suki woke up and yawned, stretching her 6-year-old arms, she had slept like a rock the night before and got up early so she could make breakfast for herself and Moriko, she looked through another recipe book and decide to just make eggs, bacon, and coffee. When Moriko woke up he came down the stairs to see breakfast already being prepared by the young girl he adopted, he smiled and sat down to wait.

He ate the food, complimented the girl, and went up to his study to make another phone call. Suki went to library number one to read phew books then decided to take a nap.

Suki's POV

It's been about three months since Moriko took me in, I've read almost half of the first library's books. I remember all of the recipes I've read and even made a few new ones I was good at that, I've also been practicing telling the difference between spices or when a meal was done with my nose.
It was about lunchtime so I went to the kitchen to make lunch, lunch was almost out of the oven when I heard the doorbell ring, I ran to Moriko's office quickly telling him that there was someone at the door. He came out of his office and walked to the door, me following right behind him.

When he reached the door he opened it and there was a tall man there with long reddish hair and golden eyes. "Ah, Jōichirō I was wondering when you would visit again," Moriko said rather excitedly "Yeah figured I'd come to visit, my sons in middle school now so I've been visiting some of my old friends," he continued the conversation, "something smells amazing, hey, you didn't tell me you were cooking again, I would have come by sooner." He said sounding amazed, "Jōichirō I told you that I stopped cooking awhile back, that amazing smell coming from the kitchen is this little lady's doing!" Moriko explained while pushing me in front of him.

I introduced myself "I-I'm Suki, It's nice to meet you, sir" I stutter a bit "nice to meet you too kid," said Jōichirō, I then smelled the dish I was making and ran to the kitchen, it was done.

I pulled the roast out of the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing it, it was perfectly tender I tasted a bite to make sure it was easy to chew, It was, it melted in my mouth, I then made a quick sauce that went with the roast. I sliced up the meat into thick slices and put it on three separate plates I then poured the sauce on the meat, then I seasoned it with some oregano, I gently placed the three plates on the table and went to get Moriko and the guest.

I walked to Moriko's office and went to knock on the door, my fist was about to hit the wood of the door when I suddenly stopped, they were talking about me, I know it's not right to eavesdrop on someone who has been so kind to me but I felt I was obligated to listen to them because they were talking about me. So I put my ear up to the door and listen in on them.

"that's some child you've got Moriko," said Jōichirō "yeah she really is, I'm going to have to get her enrolled in a school soon, got any recommendations?" Moriko asked, "Nah, you know schools aren't for me Moriko" Jōichirō answered, "yeah I guess you're right as always Jōichirō" Moriko sighed in defeat, "anyway now to my real question, where did you find her? You didn't kidnap her did you?" Jōichirō said jokingly "what, no are you crazy! I would never kidnap anyone" Moriko shouted his answer "I found her alone on the street, so I decided to take her in," said Moriko In a series tone, that's when I decided to stop listening to their conversation.

I straightened up and made it look like I had just come from the kitchen, and knocked on the door, it opened to Moriko standing there with Jōichirō behind him, "lunch is ready" I said and ran back to the kitchen. "She sure is a lively one, huh?" Jōichirō asked "yeah, she sure is," said Moriko as they walked down the hallway together, as they walked into the kitchen, the aroma of the roast wafted throughout the room and into their nostrils as they sat down, "wow is this a Philadelphia red roast?" Jōichirō asked "yes sir, except I changed the sauce to a Japanese white miso sauce, and melted a little bit of chocolate onto it, I hope you enjoy it," I say "wow this is impressive," say's Jōichirō amazed. Moriko stood and looked at his phone which had rung. "Sorry Jōichirō, I have to take this, it's important," Moriko says as he walks into the hallway talking on the phone. "He does this a lot Mr. Jōichirō," I say to Jōichirō as I set a cup of tea down in front of him.

"So, you should try to see when Moriko is going to enroll you in school," Jōichirō says as he sips on his tea, I sat down across from him with my own cup of tea and nodded. His eyes lit up when the tea touched his tongue, the tea was a Ginger tea made with fresh ginger. "I think I'd like to go to school, It would be fun," I said with a smile, Jōichirō looked over at me smiled, and excused himself to go talk with Moriko about schools. I cleaned up the dishes and put food away.

I went to find a new book in the library, I found a recipe book called "Aoiro's cookbook for Unique Recipes" it looked interesting so I opened it up and started to read it, I was almost done with the book when I was called by Moriko, so I finished up the last few pages after calling back that I'd be there in a minute.

When I got down there Jōichirō was standing by the door holding a bag that he didn't have before, I was slightly confused but didn't question anything, I nodded a little to them as I entered the room. "Another year and you'll be going to school, I'll miss that lovely cooking of yours when you do have to leave," Moriko said, "Thank you Moriko, I won't let you down' I replied "Woah your not leaving yet, no need for soggy goodbye's" Jōichirō said. I knew he was right but couldn't help but tear up a bit in the corners of my eyes. Jōichirō walked out the door saying "In one year, I'll be back" he yawned as he walked out the door.

One year later and I'm sitting in the third, that I'd somehow missed and read the final library. I'm currently reading the only book left in this house I haven't read, apart from Moriko's Diary. I heard the doorbell ring, I quickly read the last few pages put the book down, and ran to the door, as I open the door Jōichirō walks in. "Ready to leave little lady?" Jōichirō asked I nodded excitedly, "Moriko! Jōichirō's here!" I yell at Moriko as he walked out of his office yawning.
