It's around noon. Maki had just gotten home from a coffee outing with Kaede. That pianist seems to be the only sane girl out of the group she can share her feelings with. Well, other than Kirumi, who was serving them. Maki took off her shoes in the front hall and flopped onto her bed. She was exhausted. She kept her phone in her hand, and lifted it up to her face so she could see the screen. A message from one of her old friends appeared. From Kaito Momota.

At the time, Kaito was the one she had fallen for. The only ones who knew about this was Kaede and Shuichi. Both were good at keeping to themselves. As she clicked to see the message, her face turned a soft pink.

Kaito: Hey Maki-roll! I wanted to know if you wanted to hang out at the fountain this weekend. It would be just the two of us, maybe Shuichi if he feels up to going outside. So, what do you say?

Maki: sure

Kaito: Great!! What time?

Maki: 12 works for me

Kaito: Okay! I'll be there at your house to pick you up, be ready!😋

Maki covered up her face to hide the blush. It was Saturday, so the fountain da- HANGOUT would be...tomorrow! Maki leaped off the bed in a panic and started to pick out and outift for that day. She barely had anything to wear. Maki doesn't usually go out, but when she does it's not for very long so she doesn't dress that well. After digging through her closet, she found something that fit her just right and looked super cute. It was a buttoned-down black top with cropped shoulders. She wore white shorts with a black belt to go with it.

After finding out what to wear, she began to watch movie s she could stop thinking about him. The movie she watched was a bit violent, but she was used to that by now. As soon as it was over, she fell asleep with realizing it. Luckily she was in comfortable clothes and her clothes for tomorrow were hanging up by the closet. 

(time skip cuz im lazy・ω・)

It was 11:50, Kaito would be there any minute. Maki took a few seconds to practice in the mirror what she was going to say. As she was finishing packing her bag, the doorbell rang, multiple times.

*ding dong, ding dong, ding dong, ding dong*

Maki gave a groan. She headed to the door with her bag on her shoulder. Her hand reached for the door, but she had second thoughts.'Would she say the right thing? Would she ruin their friendship by telling him?'  The thought got stuck in her mind. Never the less, she gently opened the door. A warm smiling face was greeting her there. Actually, two smiling faces were waiting there. One with a purple shirt with a picture of himself, black jacket, and white jeans. The other had a light blue turtleneck on with a navy blue jacket over it. He had dark blue jeans on that were barely ripped. Maki face showed a bit of shock, realizing that it wasn't just kaito coming. Inside she felt a bit of jealousy. She still didn't mind it.

"Hey Maki-Roll! I got shuichi to come!" Kaito said eagerly. His smile shinned like the sun. Shuichi was smiling shyly. "Hey..i'm glad i could come with you guys" Shuichi spoke under his breath. Maki sighed, but let a small smile slip out. Before either of them could say anything, Kaito grabbed Makis hand and led her to his car. He started running, and Maki tried to catch up as best as she could. She was still in shock of him taking her hand. Shuichi followed behind as best as he could. Shuichi never really ran, but when he did it took most of his breath. 

Kaito stopped at his car. He opened the door to the backseat. "Lady's first~" Kaito said with a smug face. Maki pushed him gently as she sat down. She checked to make sure Kaito wasn't looking. Although she couldn't know for sure, she thought she was blushing. In fact, she was. The way he talks, the way he smiles, it made her so nervous. 

*time skip to park lmao*

They arrived at the park. Many others were there, including dogs and children were there. As some of the children ran past them, Maki gave a quiet groan. Kaito was already at the fountain, Shuichi walking there ahead of Maki. She shuffled over there while Kaito waved. She jumped to come on the fountain next to Kaito. Shuichi sat on the left side of Maki, while Kaito sat on her left. 

Now, Shuichi knows Maki likes Kaito. He feels bad he is in-between them. he guessed she wanted to be alone with him. He texted Kokichi while in the car to call him later to lie and say they had "reservations for a movie." Kokichi was good at lying, so this would be easy.

After a few more minutes of talking, bringing up old memories and going online, shuichis phone started to ring. Kaito got up and went over to Shuichi to see who was calling. "Hey ! Why is Oma trying to ruin our fun ? What does he want now ?" Kaito had a disappointed expression on his face. Maki looked over Shuichis shoulder as well. She had no idea what was going on, but she was annoyed none the less. Shuichi then answered. 

" Hey Kokichi , what do you need ?"

" Come. Home. NOW. Don't you remember our plans for today ?"

Shuichi wasn't good at lying, but he tried his best to not sound suspicious.

" I-I'm not sure what you mean , what were we doing today ?"

" Ugh , jeez ... WERE GOING TO SEE THAT NEW MOVIE , DIPSHIT ! IM AT HOME WAITING FOR YOU TO PICK ME UP AND DRIVE US THERE BECAUSE I HAVEN'T GOTTEN MY LICENSE YET ."

" There's a reason for that ... I'll walk over there , the park isn't far from our house. "

" Hurry up ! The movie staff isn't gonna wait for you ! " 

" I know , Oma . I'll be there in 10 , Kay ? "

" Okaaay ! See ya there ! Bye bye , Saihara-chan~ "

" See ya soon , babe " Shuichi hung up. He sighed. " Welp , guess I gotta go . Sorry I couldn't make it Kaito ... hope you guys have a good time ! " Shuichi started to walk away from them. he turned and gave a small smile and waved. Shuichi started to jog a bit as he got further to the other side of the sidewalk. 

It was now just Kaito and Maki.
