You're The Best

So he waited. As soon as he got into bed,all his troubles seemed to corner him. They would tease him,saying that Hermione would never like him. But she did. At least,that's what Harry thought. Finally,he checked his watch;11:55. He might as well get ready. So he pulled on a pair of shorts,as he had no swimming trunks,grabbed the egg and a towel and set off. He made his way into the common room. He met Hermione. He saw that she had worn small blue shorts and a see-through white top. She was wearing a bra of a swimsuit underneath. Harry tried his best to contain his admiration but failed saying,"You look beautiful!"
"Thank you but don't get distracted!"
She grabbed his hand tightly and,together,they made their way to the prefects' bathroom. "Pine-fresh.",muttered Hermione. Harry couldn't help but wonder how she knew the password. But it opened. They entered and Hermione turned on the fast,but silent,taps. She took off her top. Harry stared at her. She noticed and said," Harry,focus! You can't just stare at me!"
She went very red. Harry took off his shirt. Her eyes widened and she said,"Wow! Quidditch really toned you,huh?"
"Yep! So,wanna get in?"
"Sure!"
They dipped themselves in the water. It was warm and pleasant. Harry grabbed the egg.
"Try putting it underwater."
So he did. He went down along with Hermione. They heard a song.

Come seek us where our voices sound
We cannot sing above the ground!
And while you're searching ponder this
We've taken what you've sorely miss
An hour long you'll have to look
To recover what we took
But past an hour-the prospect's black
Too late it's gone it won't come back

Harry bubbled up. Hermione came after him. She was shivering. Harry brought her to him so her back touched his chest and put his hand around her waist. She smiled.
"I hope you're OK with it?"
"Yeah,I'm alright!"
"What does it mean? Wait.......merpeople! There are merpeople in the Black Lake! And they've taken something but I don't know what! But I think you can manage without me."
"That's where you're wrong,Mione. I'll always need you."
And after a while they left,decided to sleep in the common room and fell asleep,knowing that they were okay.

The next morning,Harry woke up. He noticed Hermione was on his chest,smiled and carefully laid her down on the cushion. She stirred a bit. Harry decided to change. So he went up to the boys' dormitories,changed and went back down. Hermione had woken up.
"Hi Harry. What's the time?"
"7 o clock. You should probably change."
"Yeah,I will."
She went up to her dormitory and came back out after a while. They talked for a while. Then,as Harry suspected,she started reading,Magical Ways To Survive Underwater,probably to figure out how Harry could breathe underwater. Harry started practising Wizards' Chess. He asked her,
"Mione,do you want to play a game of Wizards' chess?"
"OK,sure!"
So they played. Harry noticed that Hermione had gotten better.
"Can you teach me some moves,Hermione?"
"Sure! There's nothing much to teach. I'll teach you about Castling."(Don't judge me! I don't want her to become like a chess master like Ron.)
She kept on teaching,but her hair constantly kept on coming in her face until,finally,she tied her hair up in a bun. She looked rather pretty,thought Harry. After she finished,he said,
"Thank you for the help,Mione."
"No,thank you!"
"For what?"
"For listening."
Harry laughed and said hungrily,"We should probably go to breakfast."
"Yes,you're right. And maybe we could-"
"Go to the library? I was thinking the same thing. C'mon!"
They got up and raced out of the common room. When they arrived at the Great Hall,Hermione spread some jam and butter on a piece of toast,put it on a plate and pushed it to Harry with a smile. He happily started eating. Ron arrived and sat opposite Harry.
"Where've you two been?! I didn't hear you coming upstairs,Harry! And I heard voices downstairs!"
"Sorry,Ron, We were-", Harry tried to explain but got cut off by Hermione.
"Talking,yes,we were talking. Nothing else! We played a few games of chess,that's all!"
Ron looked suspiciously at them but said,
"Alright! If you say so!"
He tried to steal Harry's toast but Hermione elbowed him hard in the ribs.
"Whoops! Sorry,Ron! Why don't you steal someone else's toast?!"
"Sorry! Jeez! I was just hungry!"
"Well,then you could have your own toast!"
Harry felt great. To have a girlfriend like Hermione was awesome. He gave Hermione a kiss on her cheek. She blushed so deeply that she was the same colour as Ron's hair. After they finished their breakfast,they set off to the library without Ron. They immediately started talking about the clue the egg gave them. Harry couldn't remember the song but Hermione recited it perfectly,

"I have no idea what that means."
Harry,I think I have it!"
She started scrambling through her bulging bag of books. Finally,she pulled out a book named, 'Magical Herbs And Their Enchantments'.
"Here!-",she read out-"An incredible but painful source, Gillyweed is used to transform into a humanlike underwater creature. This powerful herb gives you gills,flippers and webbed hands,allowing you to swim as fast as a merperson. It is strictly forbidden to use it in competitions but for the select few,the judges need not know that the particular person used this herb. It's perfect,Harry!"
"Hermione,you are brilliant! Truly!", he kissed her with all his heart.
