Hello hello! This is Max, your writer speaking. I thank you so much for stumbling upon my strange corner of the internet! So, you have come here for some vigilante boys, and you will be fed soon enough. Just some ground information on the setting and codenames w/ explanations.
BUT BEFORE THAT this is actually inspired from a different writer! One violet_sunflowers on AO3, their fanfiction called where did my courage go (I think I left it under the rubble). It's a very good story, so please I ask you to go read it!
The setting is this sort of sci-fi city. There are holograms and fancy floating trains and shit but it's still sort of low sci-fi if that makes any sense. It's mostly for easier communication between the characters when out on missions.
There are some cybernetics, but those are very expensive. Tubbo makes what he can from scrap metal, most of Bench Trio's stuff is scavenged. Phil's glider-wing situation is somewhat cybernetics.
There's a bar sort of deal where information is exchanged in the shadier part of the city, called The Pit. Only Tommy and Ranboo from Bench Trio frequent it, since Tubbo is far too afraid and would rather stay at home, tinkering.
Codenames:
Tommy: Theseus
I know why. You know why. Let's move on.
Tubbo: Kingmaker
Reference to chess, but also a reference to how Tubbo is the tech guy who knows the inside of any places Tommy's breaking into. So, in that respect, he's Tommy's kingmaker.
Ranboo: Eventide
This is an archaic word for evening, and I dunno, just thought it was fitting since most of their work is done during the night.
Technoblade: Damascus
Damascus steel is very old and very interesting. Do look it up, it's very pretty. Basically, its insanely tough steel, able to remain flexible and be very sharp. Fitting for a man who appreciates the classics, no?
Wilbur: Siren
Sirens, originally from Greek mythology, are creatures who lured men to their deaths with their beautiful singing. Pretty man with pretty singing voice!
Phil: Night Glider
Ha ha. Ha ha ha ha ha ha. Crow man has cloak that lets him glide. Crow man go brrr
