Ranboo was working at the café on the 17th, wiping down the counters after the morning rush had calmed down. It was then that a brunette came strolling in, walking up to the counter.
"Hey there, Ranboo right?" He called. Ranboo turned around, initially not recognizing the person until he noticed the maroon beanie over his messy curly hair. Something was new about him, a guitar slung across his back.
"You're, uh, you're Wilbur right?" Ranboo asked. Wilbur nodded, snapping his fingers in conformation.
"Yup, that's me. I'll have a iced coffee with almond milk." Ranboo nodded and repeated the order to one of his co-workers and he continued to clean, getting out behind the counter and beginning to wipe down some of the tables.
"How long have you worked here?" Wilbur asked, leaning on one of the tables, watching Ranboo curiously.
"Since I was 15." Ranboo said offhandedly. He was 17 now, he'd be 18 next year so that was a solid chunk of time.
"Geez, working here and school? Kinda overachieving." Wilbur laughed and Ranboo shrunk down. "Oh, sorry kid... I know you have your own reasons for working here.
Ranboo nodded, though he didn't supply the answer as he finished wiping down the table. "It's nice to have something to do aside from school. Good to distract the mind." Wilbur continued, carrying the conversation easily.
"Do you play guitar?" Ranboo asked. Wilbur nodded proudly.
"I dabble. Just do it on the side for extra money, ya know?" Ranboo nodded, he understood the instinct.
"Can you play something for me?" He asked quietly, barely audible, though Wilbur heard.
"Wilbur Soot!" One of his co-workers called
"Sure, I can play something for ya later, but I gotta get going. See ya later, kid!" Wilbur waved a two-finger salute, carrying the drink in his hands, heading out with a smile. Ranboo chuckled. He liked Wilbur, he was good and seemed kind.

The 18th approached too quick and yet not quick enough. They got finished with their classes and Ranboo, Tubbo and Tommy were going over the plan.
"You're going in between me and Ranboo because you're short and vulnerable. Ranboo may be a bitch but he's tall and can look intimidating."
"Hey! I can do just fine!" Tommy gave him a look. "Nope I can't do just fine."
"You are a little cherub boy who cannot be hurt, if they look at you they'll see how weak you are."
"Now you're just being mean Tommy."
"Well I have to protect you, Big T." Tubbo sighed, realizing that he couldn't escape this fate.
"I still don't think that this is a good idea, I'm not an intimidating person."
"Your height helps make you look like one. Lie to victory, Ranboob, lie to victory. We have to protect Tubbo, or he'll be scooped up without a second thought by those bastards."
"Tommy, they probably didn't know that was you. Could've been another person." Tommy huffed in annoyance.
"They better not know it was me or I will end them." He muttered. Ranboo just sighed and went to get dressed.
They all wore similar black clothing, adorned color-coded masks, and headed out.
They took the bus to the Pit and Tommy presented his keycard, along with Ranboo. Tubbo didn't have one, so they agree to set him up with a card downstairs.
