"All my life, I've just wanted to be somebody's first choice. At this point, I've accepted I'm always just gonna be the second choice." - Y/N L/N

(Y/N POV)

As I opened my eyes, my vision was flooded with a bright light. This light was the sunlight shining through my window and right onto my eyes. I groaned and put a hand over my eyes, sitting up to avoid the sunlight. Once the sun was out of my eyes, I sighed and relaxed my body. My eyes were still extremely heavy, even though I had caught up on sleep. I checked the clock, the time showing 1:30 in the afternoon. My eyes shot open, realizing I had forgotten about hanging out with Team RWBY. I grabbed my scroll from my bedside. Unlocking it, I saw a couple of unread messages, all from one contact named, "Snowflake." I read them quickly, crossing my fingers she wasn't mad at me.

8:30 AM: Hey, Y/N. The team and I are heading down around 11. You can just meet us down there if you'd like.

10:30 AM: I just stopped by your dorm to check up on you, and I'm assuming you're still asleep. I'm gonna leave you be since you need your sleep,
so whenever you wake up, feel free to call me and I'll let you know where we're at so you can meet up with us. See you soon.

I sighed in relief, mentally thanking Oum she wasn't mad. I pressed on her contact info, then proceeded to call her. After the first ring, she picked up.

"Hello?" Came her voice from the scroll.

"Hey, Snowflake. I just woke up and read your messages. Thanks for letting me sleep in by the way. Just wanted to let you know I'm gonna get ready and head down there now."

"Alright, we're going to the docks right now. We'll wait there for you."

"Okay, sounds good. I'll see you soon."

"Alright, see you soon."

I was the one to hang up. I let out a huff, and got out of bed. Picking up a pair of casual clothes, that being just some ripped black jeans and a white sweater with roses on the sleeves, I made my way to the shower. After around 30 minutes or so, I had finished my whole morning routine. I finished off with putting on some cologne, then checking myself in the mirror. I looked pretty normal, the bags under my eyes were still there, but much less noticeable. Though, my eyes were pretty much half-lidded, due to them still being heavy. I was also feeling a bit sick, maybe that had something to do with it.

And with that, I was on my way to the docks.

Timeskip

I was making my way around the streets of Vale, until I had finally arrived at the docks. I looked around for a short second, before spotting the four girls all standing together, wearing their combat clothes. I walked up beside the four.

"What's up?" I greeted them with.

They all turned to me, each greeting me at once.

"So... What are we doing at the docks? And why am I the only one in casual clothes..." I asked.
