knock knock knock

iwaizumi shot up from his bed when he heard the knocks on his window, before remembering that it was just oikawa. he swung his legs off the bed then slipped on his shoes and walked over to the window in his room.

pulling back the blinds, he spotted oikawa waving at him through the glass. the brown haired boy was stood on top of the outside bin so he could reach iwaizumi's window. god knows how he knew which was iwa's room.

iwaizumi quickly opened the window, allowing oikawa to speak to him.

"get off the bin oikawa, i'm pretty sure that isn't safe," whispered iwa.

oikawa responded with a grin, "it's fine iwa-chan, it's not like i'm that heavy. now c'mon, let's get our date started!!"

a small smile formed on iwaizumi's face as he climbed out of the window. his legs dangled off the edge, before pushing himself off the ledge. oikawa had climbed off the bin so that iwa could land on it safely. the brown haired boy raised his hand for iwaizumi to grab as he jumped off the bin.

oikawa squeezed iwaizumi's hand, "good evening, my love."

the latter rolled his eyes, but returned the hand squeeze, "you sound like we're an old married couple."

"iwa-chan! stop being so grumpy, you're going to ruin the date."

"fine, now let's go. i've gotta be back before midnight."

oikawa's eyes lit up when he remembered why they were going on this date in the first place. he grinned at iwaizumi.

"let's run there."

"no oikawaAAA-"

iwaizumi was interrupted by oikawa, who had begun to drag him across the street. the raven haired boy sighed, before running alongside oikawa. the pair didn't let go of each other's hands for even a moment, they wanted to make sure they didn't loose the other.

after about 5 minutes of running, they arrived at the corner shop. it was only small, but the owner was a very nice man. everyone in the neighbourhood knew who he was.

the pair stopped outside the shop doors, taking a moment to catch their breath before walking inside. the bell above the door jingled as they pushed the door open, alerting the owner that someone had walked in.

"ah, hello oikawa... and iwaizumi? i didn't know you guys were dating!" spoke the owner, watching as the two boys went bright red. they immediately let go of each other's hands.

iwaizumi was the one to speak, "so- sorry, we aren't dating."

the shop owner chuckled to himself, choosing not to push the matter any further.

"anyway, what are you boys here for? it's getting pretty late now."

oikawa forgot all his embarrassment within a second as he remembered why they were here.

"we wanted slushies! well, i wanted a slushie and forced iwa to come with me. he's being grumpy." rambled oikawa.

iwaizumi rolled his eyes at the boy, "just order your slushie so i can go home."

oikawa stuck his tongue out at the boy before looking back over at the shop owner. he took a moment to decide what he wanted, before speaking.

"can i please get a raspberry slushie? iwa-chan can have a... strawberry slushie!"

"wait i didn't want one-"

oikawa glared at iwaizumi. he then looked back at the man who was making the slushies for them.

after a moment, the man turned around and handed the pair the slushies. iwaizumi took out his wallet to pay, but the cashier beat him to it.

"no no no, it's on the house." he spoke with a smile.

"ah thank you!" exclaimed oikawa, waving goodbye as they turned to leave.

"goodbye, have fun on your date!" spoke the man, laughing as he watched both of their faces go red.

the pair exited the store and began to slowly walk over to a nearby park. their hands somehow found each other again, gripping onto each other tightly.

once they reached the park, they sat on the swings to drink the remainder of their slushies. the only sound that could be heard was the squeaking of the swings and occasional slurps from their drinking.

iwaizumi smiled to himself, enjoying the calm atmosphere that had settled between the two of them.
