It's been three weeks and still no sign of any way out of this forest. I might be going crazy but, after getting to know Ash, I feel like we have so much more in common then we both realize. I should try to get closer to her. As a friend obviously. First I should make peace with Daniel. Show him I'm loyal. Not submissive, just loyal. That's what a pack is all about. Trust and loyalty. I'm sure we can both be trusted. But is he loyal?
"So, Kyle. I have noticed that you've been trying to get closer with Ash. I just want you to know, you won't get much closer." Kate told Kyle. "If she doesn't stop you, Daniel will." She added. "Have you been reading my thoughts again?" Kyle asked in sarcasm. "You don't need to read minds to see that you are interested in her." "That obvious? Really?" "So you admit it. You have a crush on Ash!" "Shhh! I do not have a crush on her! Just an interest in her personality." Kyle replied with seriousness. Great. Now I put that thought in both of our heads. I've only known her for a few weeks. It can't be a crush.
The pack had been walking all day now and were very tired. They made a fire once more and rested for the night. "Hey Ash, come help me and Kyle find some more wood for the fire." Jaxson shouted to Ash. "Alright." She said unamused as she started towards the two. "So how long have you both known each other?" Ash curiously asked. About 3 years. Ever since middle school." Jaxson replied. "So what's your story Kyle?" Now is the worst possible time to ask about origins. Not near Jax. Be Vague! "Kinda rough. Not a lot of excitement." Really? I sound stupid. "I had a lot of siblings. VERY ANNOYING siblings." Kyle exclaimed. "At least you have them..." Damn! That was totally not the right thing to say. "Right sorry."
Kate looked over at us, walking away and shook her head. What does she know, she thinks i like ash, and she's so wrong, so she must not know much. "I KNOW MORE THEN YOU THINK" kate yelled at kyle "what?" ash questioned "NOTHING, LETS JUST GO" kyle said rushing them. She's really getting on my last nerve. I don't blame Jax for getting mad. "At least I limit myself." Kate said to Kyle under her breath. "Not enough." He replied. "If we are ever going to make it out of here alive, we need to be able to tolerate each other. Which means, no bickering back and forth." Daniel said while looking at Kate and Kyle. "But you really do need to stop Kate, Kyle isn't the only one." He finished. They all came to a clearing and stopped dead in their tracks. What the- I hear it too. What is it- wait, we can talk with our thoughts? This is kinda cool! And freeky at the same time. Don't get too comfortable with it. Only for emergency purposes. Kate replied. "What was that?" Jaxson questioned. "It sounded like a growl. But not a wolf growl." Ash pointed out. As everyone was trying to figure out what was going on, Kyle knew that everyone felt the same. They were becoming a pack!
