MARATHON 5/5
Xiao Zhan didn't sleep shit last night. Between Jiang Cheng having brought a pharmacy back and forth from the sect's medical area, worrying Jiang YanLi, and not knowing what the fuck to do with it all, he couldn't sleep a wink.
How is he going to explain that overnight he got two earrings that he can't take off even if he wants to?
He was pacing back and forth across the room like a caged lion. Let his hair down? He already had it down and they still showed. Tie his hair in a low ponytail? No, you could tell something was wrong...
Braid his hair into a braid like he did in a drama and hide them?
Xiao Zhan didn't have much patience for doing a braid at the moment, especially not having slept at all, luckily he didn't forget to think about it.
As time went by he gave up, Xiao Zhan knew he would just have to go like this tomorrow and make up something believable because he was wearing earrings now and not before. He even started to check the rules of the Gusu Lan sect to see if it was forbidden to wear accessories in the ears if you were not a woman, the only thing he saw that was similar to the accessories was the one that said that it is forbidden to wear them on the waist.
Does this mean that Xiao Zhan is not breaking any rules?
Let's hope so.
And as for the book, Xiao Zhan looked at his right ring finger where a beautiful blue ring with a large sapphire embedded in it rested. When he discovered that whatever will happen to the book was transmitted to Wei Ying's body, Xiao Zhan went into a frenzy to hide it so that no one could get to it, however the book itself glowed and suddenly on Xiao Zhan's finger a ring appeared, and the book disappeared from his hands. He had not stopped cursing whoever had invented this method of concealment.
Why could the book become a ring and why couldn't the earrings be another ring or a pendant?
Xiao Zhan today also did not go to breakfast with the others, but they couldn't be avoided forever.
Walking with his head down, Xiao Zhan had no mood to look anyone in the eye, no face like to do so. And the consequence of walking as he had done was to bump into someone and before he looked up to apologize a scent of sandalwood enveloped him.
Xiao Zhan raised his eyes and sure enough, the one in front of him was none other than the second Lan.
"Lan Zhan" said Xiao Zhan in his dazed state, but at the icy gaze of the named one, he could only bow and apologize "Sorry, I didn't see you".
"Young Master Wei" a calm voice came from behind Lan WangJi, Zewu-Jun "Good morning and...nice earrings? "
"Good morning Zewu-Jun" Xiao Zhan greeted this time to the first Lan "Ehmm... yes, they were my mother's?" why are you hesitating idiot? "I kept them with me and didn't get a chance to wear them before?" Xiao Zhan wanted to punch himself for how unconvincing he sounded "I'm sorry but I'm late for the first lesson, if you'll excuse me, Lan Zhan, Zewu-Jun. "
He didn't wait for the reply and almost ran out, he didn't want to pursue the subject or be left with those two brothers alone. Not at such an early hour of the morning and not having had dinner, sleep or breakfast. This is when Xiao Zhan misses his beloved morning coffee.
When he entered the classroom, all eyes were fixed on Xiao Zhan and more than one jaw dropped to the floor, one of them being Jiang Cheng's. Who couldn't believe what his idiot friend had in his ears and what he most wanted to do was to shout at him that yes it was a new practical joke or some trick to make Lan QiRen mad, when someone shouted before him.
"Wei ChangZe!" Lan QiRen spat out his tea when he saw that person come in and those earrings dangling from his ears.
"My... father?" asked a confused Wei Wuxian "What's wrong?"
Lan QiRen pulled himself together from his state of shock when he saw that the person who entered was the son not the father, he changed the subject by instructing one of the Clan disciples to read the rules as usual before starting the lessons.
Xiao Zhan narrowed his eyes as he took his seat in his place, ignoring both Jiang Cheng and Nie HuaiSang.
Wei ChangZe?
What did Wei Wuxian's father have to do with this, a mere servant of the Yunmeng Jiang sect?
Or was there something more to it?
The surprise shown by Lan QiRen was not very normal to say the least and Xiao Zhan was very sensitive to these things, there is something off here...
