someone with black boots nudged the dead body before purposely stepping on it's fingers with a sickening grin, his eyes a bright yellow, even in the darkness coming from the lights that barely worked anymore. some were hanging off their hinges, flicking on and off repeatedly.

blood was spattered on the walls and floors around the half monster-half human figure, his ears perked up as he heard the sound of footsteps.

"yo, kitty!" called out changwoo, walking out from the room. "all of 'em in 'ere are dead as a motherfucker."

"call me kitty one more time and you'll have your guts on the floor," the monster-human hissed. "anyways, they're all dead?"

"yes, kit- i mean, chao," changwoo replied, holding up his gun. "c'mon."

he crept closer to where changwoo was leading, standing in the doorway to scan the nearly entirely dark room. a human lay slumped over at where all the security cams where, his head against the keyboard with a bullet hole in the back.

there lay two other bodies crumpled near the open door, chao shooting them a sinister, sharp-tooth grin before his hearing focused on the faint beeping noise.

in one of the pockets of the fallen guards, lay a small black device with a red button repeatedly blinking on and off, making that beeping noise. chao tilted his head to the side, his ears flat on his head. "what is this?"

"oh i dunno," changwoo leaned closer to see what exactly was in chao's palm. "maybe some help signal. aren't there loads of people trapped or some shit? maybe they were plannin' to save 'em."

"trapped you say?" chao retorted, an idea popping in his head. "maybe we can track it. i do need a little more food."

"i mean, haven't you eaten enough?" changwoo said with furrowed eyebrows. but off chao's sudden angry look, he quickly said, "oh, alright. i'll get lu on that. he's good with all that shit."

chao glanced back down at the device, his eyes full of happiness. "more. i need more."

the drawer was pulled on, hendery looking down at it with a worried look. he called literally a week ago, why haven't they came?

they promised he can just press the button and they'll help him out, no matter what situation he's in, even after he left to live a normal life.

though dejun told him not to worry and convinced him to go to sleep with him, hendery still couldn't help but worry, feeling the urge to check the device where he hid it in the announcement room, so dejun wouldn't find it... for reasons.

he knew if they did come, he'd have to explain dejun to them and how they shouldn't try anything with him, since we was safe and not to be tested on.

the thing is, they never did come.

"why haven't they?" hendery said aloud, his voice full of frustration. "i called-"

as if it had read his mind, the device started ringing. hendery grabbed it in a hurry, pressing onto the button to hear the call.

"we've got your location and we're coming to save you," said a voice he didn't recognise. his eyebrows furrowed as the unknown person went on. "we're gonna get you out of there to safety."

hendery felt his hopes peak, yet only for a moment. something definitely didn't feel right. the call cut off, leaving the lone male in complete, tense silence.
