Izuku POV
Waking back from the Quirk Doctors I couldn't help myself but get lost in my own thoughts, trusting that I'd follow my mum or she'd direct me where needed. 'The Doctor said my Quirk was called Translate, how did that come from fire breathing and telekinesis? Never mind, don't think about that now Izuku. What you need to think about is how you're going to be a hero like All Might. Maybe use different languages to confuse villains? Or use it to talk to foreign citizens who need rescuing? Or just as a translator for international mission? Think ,Izuku think. Maybe try to create and use some support gear? My school grades are quite good, maybe I can try that? Or I cou-' I was woken out of my train of thought by a large amount of yelling before realising that I was completely on fire and my right hand was hurting so much it must've been broken completely. So I screamed.
"ARRRRGGGGGHHH! MUM WHATS HAPPENING?!? MY HAND!"
I quickly remembered the fire fighters that came to school and told us that if we were on fire to drop to the ground and roll around to extinguish the flames. I did. They didn't go out. And then BackDraft covered me in water, I was still really hot and steaming but thankfully the flames were out. I looked around to see my mum on the ground, looking like she'd been thrown there, very shocked and confused. I sprinted over to her and hugged her and asked what happened.
"Mum what's going on? What happened?"
"I... don't know honey, let's ask someone. All I remember is seeing the van lose control then getting shoved away."
"Excuse me?" I turned around to see a police officer who, it looked like, had just had a conversation with a pedestrian, who was trying to look round the officer to see what's going on. "Can I get both your accounts of what happened please?"
Mum replied first, "We don't know, all I remember is seeing the van lose control then getting shoved out the way. Also could we get someone to look at my son? He somehow caught fire though the flames were put out quickly I'm still worried."
"Will do," the officer spoke into her communicator before turning back to us "can we get an ambulance over here? Burns specialist too is possible. Now what to you remover little one?"
I looked down to see that my arms had been burned badly as well as my legs, my clothes seemed charred but not too badly surprisingly. And then it started to hurt, not too bad at first but it got worse until I started crying and then passed out.
Inko POV
"Oh, the adrenaline must have worn off."
I looked up to the officer who'd just spoken and decided to ask a question.
"So what did they say?" I nodded towards the pedestrian that had spoken to the officer.
"They said that the two of you started crossing the road and then that van lost control, hit that barrier" They pointed and I saw that the indicated barrier had a significant damage done to it. "It then swerved and hit your sons outstretched hand head on. A ripple effect went though his skin then he caught fire. He pushed you out the way before it hit the barrier. The pedestrian said that his skin turned completely black, not like racial black. And I quote "such a dark black that I couldn't make out his features. Blackest of all black". None of the occupants of the van seemed to have taken damage from hitting him, only a few scratches and bruises from the barricade collision. It seems he used his quirk and saved your life ma'am. Do you know what his quirk is? Does he know that it's illegal to use his quirk in public? Though he should be let off as he used it in self defence and to save a life, your life."
"Yes, we just found out today: Translate. The Doctor couldn't give us any information on it though. He does know about the laws on quirks but I think he wasn't really here while he did it. He often goes into his own world while thinking, I heard him mumbling about being a hero using his quirk to talk to foreigners?" I then felt Izu stir in my arms from the sound of the approaching ambulances sirens. "Honey do you know what happened? Did you hear the police-woman talking about what the other person saw?"
A tired and pained response came out of my exhausted son still half asleep in my arms "I... I think so. I think I "translated" the kinetic energy of the van and everything inside it into thermal energy, hence the fire, and used light energy "translated" into kinetic energy to move you and that's why my skin went black, I absorbed all the light that hit me." He started to sound a bit more energetic "Does this mean I can be a hero? Owww, why do I hurt so much mum?"
I stroked his hair a little while the officer talked to Izu "That makes sense, you're a smart kid, y'know. And you sure as hell can be a hero. Don't worry about the hurts, don't focus on it. Focus on your dreams of being a hero." They then walked off to speak to the paramedics who just pulled up.
"Did you hear that Izu? You can be a hero!" 'Please don't get hurt though, for my sake' I thought as the paramedics got Izu onto a stretcher then into the ambulance where I followed.
Izukus POV
'I can be a hero!'
(So whatcha think? I'm honestly liking writing like this a lot more, it takes a little longer but I think it writes, and reads better.)
(Insert hero name ideas in the comments here (the winner will get a shoutout) I'll pick the hero name when/if Izuku picks his hero name in UA or a significant part in which to incorporate it. Thank you for reading! Also sorry for the short chapter, I couldn't really think of anything else to put in this chapter specifically.)
