(Y/N) and the young stranger stood a'still.
It was clear the dark skinned stranger hadn't a care in the world despite nonchalantly appearing on campus, but that was the least of the issue at hand.
"I'm gonna ask the questions first: How'd you know where I went off to?" (Y/N) pried, his once moving lips pursing and merging with an almost demented expression upon his face.
The stranger shrugged his shoulders, his sunken in eyes wandering about, "It's simple really, I didn't."
His eyes finally landed on the teen across from himself. He smirked and motioned a tapping finger upon the Adachi logo on his beanie, not explaining any further. (Y/N) knew all to well."My turn. When the Boss took you in for tha' first time, what was your reason for doing such... Mm, what's tha' word? —illegal business?" The dark skinned male prompted.
The way he used his words annoyed (Y/N). The teen was certain that if he'd left to back where he'd came from campus, this Adachi grunt would have no choice but to leave... Yet, he answered anyway.
"I needed the dough... Ka-San was struggling with groceries, rent 'Nd other necessities." (Y/N) explained, his (E/C) eyes never leaving the stranger's figure.
The dark skinned male had seemed to barely open his mouth to speak, but paused. His eyebrows raised some, "Typical." He commented in a belittling tone.
(Y/N)'s hands twitched at this.
"Lady Adachi's work isn't some side-hustle job you can abandon at any time like an Onlyfans account," He continued, adjusting his beanie with a finger. "It's an organization; Your time ain't up yet."
It didn't take (Y/N) long at all to remember what it was he was speaking of. The teenager couldn't help but freeze in stature. His teeth clamped tightly as if it were his own fists. "You can't put that on me." (Y/N) spoke with earnest, "I didn't know I'd end up moving away. You—... Adachi can't pin this shit on me." His voice raised, brimming with anger as well as distress.
The dark skinned male scoffed gently with a face full of meager amusement. "She will though. You remember initiation and tha' contract." He reminded simultaneously with the chaimu sounding about Paradise campus, dismissing lunch period.
(To those who don't know, "Chaimu" [Chime-uh] is the Japanese word that refers to the bell that sounds after a class in schools. Easy to remember because unlike most American schools the Japanese bell is a CHIME/tune, or better known as a Westminster bell. I'm sure some of you anime watchers have heard it.)
The wind blew gently, it's wavering pressure nudging against the two young men. The dark skinned stranger turned some, gazing at the teen over his shoulder with that same fatigued look. He then turned fully, beginning to walk away. "I'm leaving." Was all he had left to say before turning a corner and disappearing into the inside-outside depths of the High School.
The teen didn't so much as move from his spot in the grass. To (Y/N)'s older knowledge of the contract and its conditions, silencing an Adachi grunt was equivalent to swatting at flies at the dump.
The hotheaded teen gazed over at the stray Sakura Tree which swayed in the breeze, providing shade over the meal his mother had prepared for him the day before today.
(Y/N) stalked over to the tree, bending over to grab his practically uneaten lunch, glancing up at the tree once more. "—Even during the darkest moments, you never stop dancing, do you?" The teen spoke at the tree, in which of course, it only continued to wave in response to the wind. The teen's eyebrows furrowed as well as his eyelids lowering some, and he began his way back to the building.
