No one's POV:

Stein rolled out of the hospital room almost bumping into Sid. He stops and looks at the blue zombie's suspicious face

"What did you tell Soul?" Sid asked

"I told him that Maka is going to be alright." Sid furrowed his brows, hints of irritation and anger filled him.

"Why would you lie to him!? You and I both know very well that Soul should know that she might not make it!" Sid yelled.

"Listen, I don't want to tell him Maka's true condition unless things get awful with the healing process." Stein answered still keeping calm.

"Fine you are the doctor, but personally you should tell him the possible things that could happen to her." Stein nods giving into Sid's words. With that the two split ways down the halls of the DWMA.

Soul's POV:

I wake up to someone shaking me. I sit up fast and examine my surroundings. It's obviously late so why would he wake me up

"Ughh what time is it?" I groan

"Twelve forty-six am." Stein answers. "You are now able to go back home, but take the crutches on the side of the bed."

"Really? Uh...Okay."

Stein nods and I get out of the bed adjusting my arms with the crutches.

"Oh and about Maka's condition." Stein adds. "I was wrong it looks like she wont make it well at least at the moment."

"Wait.... WHAT!"

I stop in my tracks as the world around me seems to freeze. All I can hear is Steins voice echoing through my mind in all pitches and tones as they engrave a mark in my brain.

No this is not real. Maka is going to live!

Stein shakes me again snapping me out of my thoughts. I look back at him and he looks genuinely serious, it's definitely real alright.

"There is a chance that she will live." Stein says looking down. "But that does not mean that we are completely sure. You see, she got stabbed so close to the heart any further and she would have instantly died." He explains looking back up to me in pity.

"NO! She will live!" I yell. My mind at the moment is running marathons with negative thoughts, I can't take it anymore!

"You will make sure that she lives! I did not protect her just to see her die!" I limp to the hospital door and take one more look at Maka's unconscious body before I leave. Tears wealing in my eyes as I close the door.

"I'm not gonna let you die before I tell you how I feel, its not going to end this way. You will understand me."
