It all happened so fast, I felt strong arms lift me and drag me to the next platform. His breathing was heavy as it blew onto my face, I opened my eyes to see that it was Ryder who had saved me from being roadkill.

"Are you okay Clarke?' Ryder's voice was shaking so badly I could hardly understand what he had just asked me.

"Um, yeah Ryder I'm fine, thank you" My voice was shaky too but nowhere near as bad as his.

Ryder's face grew red and if we were in a cartoon right now, smoke would be coming out of his ears. "Why is your face so red?" maybe this was a dumb question but I wanted to know alright.

"Why is my fucking face red?!" He was now yelling right into my face and to be honest, I was a little scared.

"You almost got killed by a train cause you fell asleep on the tracks and you ask me why my fucking face has gone red!' The anger in his voice was so rattling I didn't even know what to say next so I just stood there in awkward silence.

"Do you even know how dangerous it is to be up here Clarke? you honestly could have died if I didn't see you lying there! what are you even doing up here?" His voice grew softer towards the end when he saw the tears forming in my eyes... "I'm sorry Ryder, I didn't mean to put you into any danger it's just that.." I paused, remembering who I was talking to and what would Ryder Roberts care about why I was up here, it's not like we were friends so I continued... "Nevermind"

"I just saved your life and you can't even give me an explanation?" Ryder's voice was sounding empathetic now and like he really did care about why I was up here.

"My father died tonight Ryder and I didn't know what to do or where to go, so I came here and I didn't mean to fall asleep I just did and I am so sorry I put you in danger" I spoke with such sadness in my voice, its to be expected with what just came out of my mouth. Ryder was now looking at me with pure fear in his eyes, I could tell he didn't know what to do or say to me so he just hugged me... his strong arms wrapped around my body, one hand was cupping my head, whilst the other wrapped around my waist. I had never spoken to this boy for more than a second but now here I am being held by him. I strangely felt safe whilst in Ryder's arms, I buried my head deep into his neck and let out a quiet sob.

My legs were getting weaker the longer I cried until they just couldn't hold me anymore, I dropped to the ground and Ryder followed me, still keeping me wrapped up in his arms. I pulled away from Ryder's grip to compose myself, I looked at him right in the eyes and could see that he had been crying too, his hand reached out in front of my face, and he whipped away my tears with his cold fingers. For a long while, we sat staring into each other's eyes without a word.

I finally broke the silence... "You don't have to do this you know, sit here with me."

"Where else would I go, Clarke?" He asked like I knew the answer.

"Besides, I don't think you should be alone right now. Why do you have that bag, you planning on going somewhere?" If I'm honest I don't really know why I packed my bag, it's not like I really was going anywhere.

"Nowhere in particular, I don't really want to go home though... I might stay up here tonight" I knew by the look on Ryder's face there was no way that was happening.

"No you are not staying here, you will come to stay at my house, I'll sleep on the couch." The persistence in his voice was not negotiable, I knew no matter what I said from here on out didn't matter, I was sleeping at Ryder Roberts house.
