Destiny 2: Frozen In Time

Chapter 13: The Underground Railroad

As soon as the trio makes their way out of the dome they immediately see a warzone before them- the brown skiffs being used to transport refugees have been captured in containment fields and the Salvation Fallen move in with skiffs and brigs.

"We have to move in, and fast!" Spe-7 shouts.

"I never thought I would have to do this, yeees?" Variks mumbles. "I have gotten in contact with some... Reinforcements. They should be on their way soon."

"This is Spider. Remember me?" A familiar voice says on the comms. "I didn't want to get dragged into all of this honestly, but this is the fate of our people we're talking about, and if some power crazy kell wants to pull a stunt like this and endanger us all, I ain't letting that fly." And with that one of Spider's walkers comes crashing down and a skiff bearing his logo drops down, revealing multiple vandals and dregs decked out in their usual hedgehog-like armor. A pair of servitors also emerges from the skiff, and said skiff hangs out in the air providing suppressive fire with it's cannons.

"Let's join the fight!" Suzuka says as the trio also moves in alongside Spider's troops against the house of salvation, and the refugees can only watch in shock and horror as a literal civil war breaks out before them.

"I think my troops can handle the majority of them, you need to free those skiffs!" Spider calls out.

"On it!" Spe-7 says as she dashes over to the refugee skiffs that are currently trapped in what appear to be some sort of containment field.

"I've seen containment fields like this back in the prison. There are three panels that you need to disable in order to free them." Spider replies. "Fair warning, you can't destroy them either so you need to tamper with them to bring the attention of those salvation idiots and kill the one with the code."

"Thanks!" Spe-7 says as she reaches a panel and punches in some gobbledygook. The panel proceeds to make a loud buzzing noise upon receiving the incorrect password and a salvation skiff emerges, dropping down a large captain and a pair of sniper vandals.

"Incoming!" Gold shouts as a gigantic brig comes crashing down. It's twice the size of a normal brig and it carries both a missile pack and a void cannon as it begins firing away. Spe-7 continues to disable the panels holding the refugee skiffs captive and the allied walker focuses fire on the gigantic brig.

"How are we going to damage that thing?!" Gold asks.

"What worked for the smaller ones?" Spider then proceeds to ask. "If it worked on the tiny ones it should work on this big hunk of metal as well, the two aren't that different." With that piece of advice Suzuka proceeds to unleash her void energy, slamming the titan brig with a nova punch that manages to blast it's faceplate off, exposing it's delicate inner workings. "Now you're cooking with gas!" And with the brig's weak point exposed, all it takes is a charged blast from the walker's cannon to put it down. Finally the equine hunter manages to disable all of the panels, freeing the refugee skiffs and allowing them to escape and reach Mithrax and the House of Light. With no more worry about hurting the refugees Spider's troops turn loose, bringing out shrapnel launchers and molten welders, and the walker proceeds to reveal a missile pack- a familiar looking one let alone that.

"Is that Elykris' missile pack on that walker?" Spe-7 asks.

"Yup, I have to thank you for giving that to me. Knew it would come in handy at some point." Spider chuckles as scorn missiles bombard the Salvation Fallen, forcing some of them back and knocking out the brigs that are still on the battlefield. Finally Spe-7 and Gold unleash their energies, going ham on the Salvation Fallen alongside Spider's members, and it's not long before the House of Salvation retreats, having been humiliated yet again by the guardians.

"I think that's business done here. I'm pulling out my troops." Spider says as his men retreat to their skiff and the walker is also picked up in the process.

"Thanks for the help!" Spe-7 says.

"No problem." Spider replies.

"Yeah that'll show you! Now get your fat asses outta here! Salvation my ass I tell ya." Gold taunts as the last of the Salvation Fallen retreat with tails tucked. "Now we need to find Eramis herself..."

"After all of this she MUST come out to fight, or else she will lose the will of her army." Variks says. "This is looking to be a good outcome. Perhaps we can convince Eramis to simply put down her weapons and come peacefully."

"I don't think that's going to happen any time soon, not after the tenacity we've seen of those under her." Suzuka says. "They fought til the bitter end, not once showing any sign of regret."

"If shit hits the fan, we have to kill her." Gold says.

"Sadly that may have to be the choice." Variks mumbles. "I got this... Angry message from Eramis after you helped the refugees escape." The message proceeds to play, but it's hard for the guardians to understand as it is Eramis cursing out Variks in Eliksni.

"What is she saying?" Suzuka asks.

"I... Refuse to translate what she said about you." Variks replies. "But she says she's in Riis-Reborn, not too far from where you are right now. Please, finish this fight, for our people."

"We won't let you down." Suzuka says.
