EZRA
It had been a few days since things had began looking up. Tony was starting to get used to the idea of having a second daughter and he was trying to make it up to you. Staying at the compound with him to try make up for lost time.
Sitting at the bar in the compound, staring at a double shot of tequilla as if it would magically dissapear and the temptations would dissapear along with it.
"are you going to just stare at it or are you going to drink it?" Looking up, tony was stood on the other side of the bar.
"I can't drink it" running my finger around the rim of the glass i look up at Tony.
"And exactly why can't you?" He sits on the stool beside me, elbow resing on the bar and head proped on his hand. A confused and concerned look over his face.
"I promised Steve that i wouldn't" pushing the glass away. i turn in my chair and face him.
"Steve can't make you do anything, Especially if you don't want to" his face twist's into what can only be described as anger and possibly shock.
sighing i place my hand flat on the bar, looking up at him and slowly coming to the realisation that i need to tell him. It's unfair on steve and Tony.
"look dad, There is something i need to tell you. Something you should know before you accept me back into your life" Sliding my hands up and down my legs, a nervous habbit i seem to have picked up.
"Whats up kiddo?" he reached across laying his hand atop my own.
"I'm an alcoholic" i release a breath i didn't know i was holding. I drop my eyes to where our hands are joined only to see his slowly recoil away.
Turning back to the bar i pick up the glass filled with what i want most. Pulling the bottle closer and popping off the top, i slowly pick up the glass and pour the remains back into the bottle.
"Steve has done nothing but help and support me the past 5 days. He is the reason im 5 days sober" pushing the bottle away. I stand and head around to the other side of the bar and rinse my glass in the sink. Feeling the presence of someone behind me i turn only to be embraced in a hug. My body tenses, looking up and seeing Tony looking back down at me a sincere smile on his face.
"I'm so proud of you kid" feeling my eyes well i swipe at them to rid of the wetness.
"It's a big thing Ezra. Sobriety is something you earn through hard work and determination. Stick with it kid, soon you will be proud of yourself too" he leans down and lays a kiss on my hair. i squeze my arms around him tighter. Needing this hug more than i realised.
"Thankyou dad, that really means alot to me"
