A ceaseless expansion of shadows stretched on before me. Sometimes I was in crumbling buildings stripped of all their furnishings, sometimes I was walking through fields of dead grass and colorless flowers.

Occasionally it looked as if the world had stopped moving entirely and at other times it seemed so full of energy! Like the very dirt is about to throw itself into the air and fly away.

I began developing a headache, a constant pressure had been pouring into my mind from the moment I entered this place. It was maddening.

I suddenly felt the air tremble, I looked to my right only to have a black paw slam into my face, sending me tumbling to the ground. I felt the crunch of my nose breaking. I forced my nose back into the proper position so it would begin healing. I felt my body tingling, I could feel the blood lust of my attacker.

They didn't just want to kill me, they wanted to devour me. The beast stood upon a hill now, glaring down at me as if I had disrespected it somehow. The world seemed to shape around it as it walked towards me, raising and lowering to ensure it path was easy and smooth.

A monster, nearly impossible to describe now towered over me, fifteen feet tall, seemingly canine in shape, no fur, oily white and black skin, eyes hollow and black.

As terrified as I should be, I wasn't. Because I could feel a monster of my own, waiting beneath my skin.
The beast raised its great paw into the air, I reached for my blade only to discover it was nowhere to be found.

The demon dogs massive paw came down faster than I could see it, putting more pain on me than I thought possible, I felt my body snap in two as blood exploded from inside me.

The pain was so intense I could barely move, I struggled to push the mound of flesh off of me but my strength was gone, I was finally going to die, I had pretty much accepted that with what I had become it was impossible. But the fear I'd forced out of my mind was back, the sheer terror of everything had become more crippling than my broken body.

Then, I heard a whisper.

"don't hold back, don't try to resist your powers. Go all out. Destroy everything you come across!"

"Real words of wisdom huh?" I ask myself with a laugh.

"Destroy everything, use everything I have... Don't hold anything back."

"I can do that" I say with a grin.

My grin turns to a disturbingly large smile, I dig my nails deep into the monsters great paw and fling him off of me, rolling my mutilated body onto its stomach. Vomiting thick black ooze, never loosing my smile.

In that moment I achieved it...
The final sickening form of the red reaper, my back cracked in blissful delight as new muscles and bones forces their way into my body, my teeth crumbled and splintered leaving nothing but jagged fangs. Blood poured out of my eyes as they turned a soul stealing shade of black. I dragged my head across the ground to tear away my flesh making room for horns struggling to rip from the sides of my forehead.

A deafening screech tore its way from my throat. A sound so intense the dust around me was thrown from its resting place, settling once more several feet away.

I stood up once more, my clothes hanging off of me likes shreds of cloth, blood ran down from my mouth and eyes. I twitched my head towards my next victim.

"I'll kill you... ILL EAT YOU ALIVE!"

I couldn't help but laugh as I screamed out to it.

I flashed out of sight, reappearing under the soft belly of the beast.

I gently placed my hand on its underside before ripping a line from head to toe through its body, it cried out in agony as I was covered in its blood. It darted away in a desperate attempt to escape. I was already in front of it again. Before it knew what was happening I plunged my clawed hand into its chest, slowly ripping it's disgusting heart out. I starred into its eyes as it watched me crush its still beating heart.

I could see my reflection in its eyes now, not as black as they once were. I looked like no more of a monster than it, two monsters fighting to see who's stronger. My horns and face were covered in its blood, but my smile never left my face.
