(READ THE A/N AT THE END OF THE CHAPTER. SUPER IMPORTANT. I REPEAT. READ THE A/N AT THE END OF THE CHAPTER. THIS IS PRO HERO DEKU AU THANKS FOR READING <3)
You broke off from reading your favourite lengthy book when you heard a long yawn from across the empty shop. "Sorry, long night, kero." Your friend and your favourite regular costumer, Tsu replied quickly after her yawn. She was always overly polite, but you didn't mind.
"Its whatever." You tiredly sigh. For some reason you had a terrible sleep last night, but that wasn't uncommon. Bags under your eyes were the norm since the ripe old age of 7. "Had a rough fight, Tsu-chan?" You already had a long night of oblivious costumers and a Karen or two so you didn't bother putting any happiness in your voice, not that you had that much happiness in your voice on the regular. Only thirty more minutes until your shift ended, and then a day off. You were pretty excited to do nothing.
You were always nostalgic of the scent of this place. It reminded you of your mother's crowded but beautiful garden back home. Her garden was a safe place for you, you could get lost in the huge, beautiful bushes every time and never complain. That's the main reason you moved to this city and applied for this job almost eleven months ago.
"I almost had my tongue cut off, kero. I hope I don't run into anymore scissor quirked villains anytime soon." She picked up a pink potted flower. The pot was brown with small pictures of flowers engrave on the thick rim and some sappy inspirational quote... probably. You couldn't tell what she was thinking, her head was blocked by a wet grape vine hung from the high ceiling. When you leaned to the side to avoid the vine, you still couldn't tell. Her expression stayed as it usually was, unreadable and a little frog like. Well, a little was an understatement.
"What's this one called again?" Tsu asked, pointing to the flower she was talking about. You stood up off your comfy chair and made your way across the counter. You brushed past the vibrantly green hanging plants and made extra sure you didn't knock down any plants. You're quite clumsy when you're not focused on any task.
"A pink ajisai." You say after examining the Rosey coloured flower for a quick moment. You quickly checked the tag on the back of the pot to make sure. You were right. "Common wedding flower, I think. I don't really know anything about flower meanings." Tsu nodded at that.
"I'll try to remember."
"Yep, that's what you said last time."
Tsu, or better known as the Rainy Season Hero: Froppy, came around the flower shop a lot. She lived around here. Tsu was number 12 in the hero Rankings but she lived in a small apartment near here. It wasn't like she was poor, she just enjoyed smaller spaces and didn't like the feeling of a big empty house. At least that's what she told you. When you moved from a small town north of Japan, you didn't expect to befriend such a popular hero just months after moving. Or even make friends to begin with.
At first you didn't like being alone but you grew used to having no friends. People were put off by your deadpan expression and tired voice. Tsu was never like that though, once she came in the store so much you started acting more like yourself around her. She enjoyed the comforterable silence.
Surprisingly enough, you didn't recognize that she was a hero, even after you knew her name, until she talked about U.A. highschool. Everyone in Tsu's class who've not gone underground were in the top 50 in Japan. That was unheard of, not one person in her class was a sidekick or anything.
You were 23, while Tsu was 26. The age difference didn't matter to either of you though. She's come to the shop a lot because of the high humidity, apparently heat was something she really could handle. You didn't know anything about frogs but that seemed pretty accurate to what you would assume.
