your pov and narrator pov

You sighed as we were now in a bedroom with two knocked-out people. One girl, one boy. You're not quite sure how it happened, but it did.

"Alright. I think that's enough... of that." Peggy finished slowly. The H/C-haired girl looked around and held her head. I hate fieldwork.

Your thoughts were interrupted when you heard Peg open a cabinet. "What are we looking for?" Y/N asked, her hands sliding down the sides of her face. All you wanted to do is mess around with projects and find out new things. You wanted to be a part of science. This was too much work for you. Too much moving around and fighting.

Your cousin hummed, looking around before her gaze landed on you. "I'm not exactly sure. I assume it's something along the lines of a recorder or maybe a journal. You know, journalists." She shrugged, making you chortle. You nodded and started your search.

The whole point was to find the author of the paper and talk to them. But to be honest, you didn't really see the whole point. If Peg wanted to save Stark's honor then just do an interview or write your own take on the situation. It doesn't have to be this hard. You sighed and looked around anyway, maybe you should get used to the fieldwork. I mean it is Stark we're talking about. And besides, Peg always found some crazy stuff to do down here. Always keeping her life crazy instead of calm. You knew it was something she longed for, a calm life, but you just didn't think it'd be as fun.

It could just be that you weren't ready to give up your youth for something strong and steady. You weren't ready for settling down. And believe you me, that was very valid. Before you could talk to yourself, even more, your thoughts were, once again, interrupted. Someone stirred, and since Peggy was wide awake just like you, your eyes snapped to the two knocked-out victims.

The girl was awaking, making you panic but Peggy seemed calm. So you tried to copy her demeanor. Maybe she had a plan, you wondered. "What the hell..?" The mysterious woman spoke, scaring herself when she saw us staring her down. She was jumping to conclusions in her head and you could see it. I looked to Peg for instructions and she just waved her hands in front of herself. A motion to calm someone down.

"Calm down, we're not going to hurt you. We're like you. We just woke up here and we can't remember anything!" Peggy lied, hugging herself to give the vibe that maybe she was knocked out as well. I just was squatting over my knees, my bunched-up form making me seem small. I just nodded and kept quiet.

Much to your avail, the lie wasn't convincing enough. "Bullshit, I saw you knock me out!" You looked to Peggy and decided to keep searching for things. I'll let her handle that. I heard my cousin sigh and then I heard arguing, but I tuned it out. God, this was going to be a long day.

You couldn't help but wonder what Howard was doing right about now. I mean, he's just too cute to not dream about.

I sigh and turn around to see Peg hovering over the girl who's nose is now bleeding. My cousin holding some sort of notebook. "Got it." She deadpanned, making me crack a small smile.

"Right, let's get going?" I questioned, not 100% sure if we were good to leave just yet. Luckily, I wasn't wrong and she nodded. We were only here for a bit, an hour tops and we knocked out two people. Jeez.

Peggy opened the door and went out first, checking the hallways to see if we were good to just head for the door. So far so good.

Now, I wasn't so sure what was in the book or why we needed-- I wasn't about to ruin my chances in science for some silly book. It was irrelevant and needless to know what it held. It was just a book and Howard Stark needed, who am I to question him?

Besides, I'm sure he had good reason to have that book. I was on side science and Howard happened to be on the same side. So I'll do whatever he says as long as I get to do what I wanted since I was a child. Make discoveries.

"This way." The brunette called, making my thoughts evaporate within the confines of my head. I nodded and rushed to her side. "I think we're good to just get in the car. Don't you?" Carter asked for my opinion.

I looked around for a moment, "Yeah. We're good." I smiled for reassurance which she quickly returned. We hopped in the vehicle and began to speed off, but my window had shattered, sending pieces of glass flying Peggy and I's direction. "What in the hell!?-" I exclaimed, I mean the window had been completely obliterated!

Peggy looked around while I checked myself for wounds and cuts, she quickly found a rock and held it up for inspection. "Thank god. Thought it was a bomb! Hah!" She laughed in relief, making me halt and look at her. I'm sure I had that signature, "you're crazy!" look. My cousin just waved me off and threw the rock out. Looking around for the perp.

"Peg, I got a little cut on my arm." I mused, pointing to my arm which had a gash on it. You could see a bit of a shard in there but nothing more. It wasn't too bad, it was on the outside of my forearm making me thank my lucky stars. If it was any further up, I would've bled out. Of course, this all was basically ignored by myself because of my need to cover traumatic moments with humor. "Who even was that? Why my window?" I whined, looking at the burst-through glass pane.

My cousin stole a glance at my arm, scoffing at what I called the gash. It most definitely wasn't a "little cut" but she didn't question it, thankfully.

"Shut up, Y/N. Duck down." Peggy shushed me, I just complied though. She's scary when mad, so I shut up and ducked. My head quickly turned back towards her when I heard a small click. The badass woman had a gun in her purse, of course! I forgot. Silly me. Anyway, the woman I was so fond of, scooted so she could see everywhere behind the car and across my side of the vehicle. "I think it's clear.." Peg sighed, looking at the shards of class that were scattered across the floor of the mobile.

At her word I sat back up and threw stray pieces of glass out the broken window. "Right, let's just go. I need to deal with my arm." I picked at my clothes, grabbing a fist-full of the material and cringing. The pain was kicking in. Suppose adrenaline was keeping me up.

Peggy opened her mouth to speak but another window was broken. The rear windscreen was shattered but this time, there was a foot in the place a rock should be. A man with boots and a mask lunged forward. Then, it was like everything went in slow-mo. Peggy was the victim but luckily she had her gun in her grip, I was landed at the very edge of the car.
I watched as the male grabbed her arms to restrain her but failed as he got a kick to the abdomen, my cousins body moving fast as to keep up with the man's offenses. He opened the door as to try and gain some surprise element but it backfired badly as she rolled them over. Bending the mystery man's body so he was unable to fight against her weight. His legs bended so far that they were put down by Peggy's weight, his hands not too far from his legs as his torso contorted so he didn't strain his muscles all to much.

I couldn't imagine the torture his body was in. Yet, I stood amazed by my cousin. It dawned on me that all I did was stand there. "Hurry up and get in the car, Peg." I said, deciding "peg" was the better alternative compared to "peggy" or "cousin."

"Right. One second." Her words dropped from her mouth, as if she wasn't even thinking before saying it. Peggy put more pressure on his legs and moved on her hands to the pressure point around his neck and shoulder. "What do you want from us?" My cousin hissed, making him groan slightly. Still, after moments of her trying to question him, he wouldn't give anything up.
After a while she just opted to knock him out, so she did. He fell limp, leaving her to stand and dust off any dirt on her dress.

I just bit back a small humorous smirk and leaned back in the seat of the car. I hadn't left the passengers seat since the window broke and I don't plan to until we're at a safe place. Chances of getting even more injured from glass is too much for me. Finally, Carter got in the car and looked towards me, giving me a weak smile for comfort and drove off.

Leaving the party to wonder who the hell knocked out the host and his daughter.

Little did Y/N know, this small notebook would be the beginning of her new chapter. Time, as we know it, is precious. Use it wisely, readers.
