3rd person POV:
Sirius had began to feel reckless, it felt like they had been in transfiguration for hours! If he had known that they where to take a test today he would have stayed in bed, even if James threatened to drag him to class in his pajamas.
And it didn't help whatsoever that he hadn't been paying any attention to the past couple of lessons (maybe more than a couple) Ok, lets get this straight, it wasn't Sirius's fault! There was just something more interesting to look at, and that person was all to blame.
Obviously he wouldn't tell Minnie that 'the reason he failed the subject was because he was too busy daydreaming about a certain werewolf.'
He'd just have to come up with another excuse, like he always did.
But here he was, in transfiguration, with that same boy sitting just inches away from him. Sirius kept sending death glares over at James, who just smiled back. He couldn't believe his best friend would betray him like this!
After a while of staring at the same question on his test, rereading it over and over again trying to understand it, he thought it best to take matters into his own hands.
he slowly turned to look at the freckly boy whose golden curls had fallen over his face, making his eyes not visible. He was biting his lip trying to concentrate as he scribbled down whatever knowledge he had gained from the past lessons.
Sirius realized he had been staring, and quickly shook the thoughts from his head. He then moved closer to Remus's ear, his lips only centimeters away and whispered.
"Moony"
"CHRIST! WHAT THE HELL!" Remus screeched nearly falling out of his seat.
Sirius couldn't contain himself, he hadn't laughed so hard in his life! (besides the time he dacked James infront of Lily to reveal James's heart underwear) But that wasn't the point. He hadn't meant to scare Remus like that, he was just going to ask him if he had the answer for question 7!
"Mr. black, Mr. Lupin. this is a test remember. no talking." Professor McGonagall said, not even looking up from her desk at the front of the room.
"Sorry Minnie!" Sirius replied, wiping away the tears from his eyes.
He then turned back to Remus who had readjusted himself back in his seat, and wore a thick red blush of embarrassment.
"Sorry, I- uh didn't mean to scare you." Sirius chuckled nervously
"s'ok" Remus replied, now looking back at his paper.
they where silent for a moment, Remus fiddling with his quill and Sirius watching him.
"your staring." Remus whispered, not looking up from his paper.
"oh- uh." Sirius cleared his throat, now looking down at his paper. "I was just wondering if you had the answer for number 7..."
"your still on the first page!?" Remus asked rather surprised, looking up at a now embarrassed Sirius.
"There's another page! And besides, I was doing... other things..." Sirius explained, now wearing a thick layer of blush.
"And what are those things, may I ask?" Remus mocked.
"That's not the point." Sirius quickly answered "are you going to help me or not?" Sirius now crossed his arms, making himself look like a stubborn child.
"fine." Remus stated, leaning across Sirius to look at his paper.
Sirius thought he had forgotten how to breath for a moment, Remus 'freakin' Lupin's shoulder was touching his, as he was reading Sirius's paper! Sirius didn't know why it all of a sudden felt weird to be touched by Remus. James and him hugged all the time, but it never felt like this...
"where you listening?" Remus asked, now looking up at Sirius from the paper. Their faces where inches away. Sirius was struggling to form words, hoping not to embarrass himself. He just stared blankly at Remus, waiting to see if he would repeat himself.
Remus sighed and moved back away from Sirius. He could feel the warmth from his body be taken away from him.
"I said, the answer is C." Remus then picked up his quill and got back to scribbling on his own paper.
Sirius looked around the room and saw a smirking James, giving him the 'i told you so' look, before Sirius quickly returned that look with the middle finger.
James needed payback...
