Chapter 15

Nadine's P.O.V.

After Hayes and I got ready. We went to go drop Junior off at my moms and went on our way to skate country. I can't wait. I'm so happy. The best part of my childhood. And I will never forget that. I'm glad we came, 'cause it brings back so much memories. But I hope nothing bad happens tonight.

We got in the and drove off.

*A few minutes later*

We drove into the parking lot and parked the car. We went in. We waited in line to pay. Hayes and I stood there waiting with our skates hanging over our shoulder. Hayes grabbed my hand and pulled me up to the window. We payed and thanked the lady and walked in to the actual place.

"I'm gonna get something to drink. I'm kinda thirsty." Hayes said. "From what? Walking? We just got here." I said. "Hell yeah." He said. It made me laugh. "Just go." I said and pointed to the snack bar.

After he walked to the snack bar I sat down and put my skates on. I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around to see who it was. I thought it was Hayes at first, but I guess I was wrong. It was some random guy.

"Hi Nadine." He said with a smirk on his face. "Um... do I know you?" I said kindly, but with an eyebrow raised. "You don't remember me?" The random guy asked. "Honestly, no. Sorry." I said. "It's okay. But it's me. Eric. Remember?" He said. As soon as he said that my eyes went wide and my jaw dropped.

I stood there in shock. I was surprised. I didn't know that was him. I forgot about him. I haven't seen him in years. I remember him now. I remember I liked him, but never knew if he liked me back. Man! He looks a lot different. So many things were running through my mind.

"Oh. I remember you now. Uh... Hi." I said with a smile. "Wow! It's been years since I last seen you." I said. "Yeah it has. I kinda thought I would never see you again, but look your here standing here right in front of me." He said. "Can I have a quick hug?" He asked. I gave him a quick side hug.

"What was that?" He asked. "A hug?" I said with confusion on my face and in my voice. "That wasn't a hug. Come here." He said. He grabbed my hand and pulled me into a hug. I tried to let go, but he had a tight grip on me.

"Um.... Can you let go now please?" I asked. "No. Just a little bit longer. I want years worth of these hugs and I'm not letting go." He said. "Well I don't. One little hug is enough for me right now. Please. Can you let go?" I said trying to struggle out of his grip. I could see Hayes standing there with the drinks looking sad.

Hayes ran up to us with the drinks in his hands. He sat them down on the bench. Took him a while for him to get the drinks. It must've been a long line. Or maybe he was taking for ever on trying to decide on what to get. But he did want a drink and he got them.

"Hey dude get off of her now!" Hayes said. Hayes said trying to make him let go of me. Hayes got him to let go and pushed him back. Hayes pushed me behind him, so he won't do try to do nothing to me again.

"Woah! Sorry man!" Eric said putting his hands up in surrender. ""This your girl?" He said. "Yeah. She is actually. And you need to back up." Hayes said. Hayes started getting mad and closer to Eric.

"Guys! Just stop!" I yelled. I got in between and tried pushing Hayes back, but obviously that wasn't working. "Hayes. Just stop. You just gonna make a big scene." I said. Hayes calmed down and stepped back. He got the drinks and walked away.

"Okay. So... What was wrong with me? You would go out with someone like that but not me? We could've been like that now. We both knew we liked each other. What happened?" Eric said. He looked kinda sad.
