Chapter 23

Nadine's P.O.V.
Our squad came over and we were getting turnt. It was really lit. But it was weird because Sammy and Jasmine weren't drinking, but Junior was there so I understand. So I stopped drinking. I wasn't drunk drunk, but I was a little tipsy. It wasn't good to have beer around Junior though. That's kind of why I stopped. I looked back over at Jasmine, Sammy && Junior. I felt like they were talking about something kind of serious. So I went up to them and asked them.

"Hey Jasmine. Hey Sammy." I said. "What up." Sammy said. "Hey." Jasmine said. "So, what's up?" I asked. "Oh nothing much." Jasmine said. "Yeah. Just sitting here. Playing with Junior at your house for once." Sammy said. "It's kinda surprising to be honest." Jasmine said. "Cause you already know. We don't bring him with us here to hang out with you guys because we always end up you know, drinking." Sammy said.

"Yeah." I said. "So, is there anything on your guys' mind?" I said. "That you wanna say?" I asked. They looked at each other. "No." Jasmine said. "Alright." I said and walked away. I went back to where I was before. I started thinking to myself. Which isn't a good thing sometimes, but I did it anyways. I mean I wasn't doing anything better anyways.

Maybe I was wrong.

I thought to myself.

But they could be hiding it still. Afraid to tell us. Or they don't wanna come out yet. I don't know we'll see.

I thought to myself once more. But it could be true. We'll see at some point if they come out. That's them. It'll be the same with Hayes and I if we were in they're shoes. But it's whatever. It's probably not even that bad. If they DO have something to tell us. Which probably won't be a surprise. At least to me. It wouldn't really be big. Depending if it is or not. I need to stop thinking I repeat myself to much.

I went outside to where everyone else was. Because they didn't want Junior to see their drink and think it was Apple juice or something and drink it.

Who knows? Who could think that. I would shii.

I thought to myself. But they're smart. I sat next to Hayes. Who was laughing at Angelique's and everyone else's jokes. I joined in. But I got distracted by Hayes. Like always. I don't even know how it happens, but it happens. I always get caught in my thoughts somehow and zone out.

Oh god he looked handsome as always. My lord I'm lucky. Thank you Jesus.

Ew Nadine! Quit being gay.

Snapping myself out of those kinds of thoughts. Well, I can't help myself. But to think thoughts like that about my husband. Oh, well. They're my thoughts. We were having a fun time. Laughing and joking with each other until we heard loud noises coming from inside the house. Sammy and Jasmine were the only ones in the house. Sounds like they're fighting.

WITH JUNIOR INSIDE THERE!! SOUNDS LIKE THEY'RE BREAKING GLASS!!

I thought to myself. I broke out of my thoughts and got up. "THEY'RE FIGHTING AND BREAKING GLASS WITH JUNIOR IN THERE!!" I screamed and ran inside. Everyone else ran right behind me. I opened the door and got Junior with Angelique right behind me. I took him to my room and sat him down on the bed.

"What's wrong with daddy?" Junior asked, crying. "Nothing Junior. Everything's gonna be okay. Alright ?" I said and rubbed his back. He nodded his head real quick. "Stay here and calm him down please?" I asked Angelique. "Alright." She said. "Hurry up and go see what's wrong." She said and motioned towards the door. "Alright." I said and ran out the door.

"I DON'T GET IT!!!" Sammy yelled and hit the walls behind Jasmine. He had Jasmine cornered. Everyone was just standing around watching. Shocked. "WHAT'RE YOU GUYS DOING?? HELP HER!!" I yelled and ran to try and push Sammy away from Jasmine -Who was frozen where she was- but failed. Hayes and Jack J. started pulling Sammy by his arms.

"This ain't over!! Imma see you at home Jasmine!!" Sammy said and pointed at Jasmine. Anayeez and I took Jasmine to the room where I left Junior with Angelique. But Anayeez left right after she made sure Jasmine was safe. "MOMMY!" Junior ran to Jasmine. "Hi baby." Jasmine said and hugged him. "You okay?" She asked. "Mhm." He said and nodded. "Alright, good." She said. And hugged him again.

"What happened? What even got him mad?" I asked. "Do you think I can stay? And I'll explain everything Right Now." She asked. I nodded. "Alright. Well, Imma lay Junior down in the other bed really quick, then I'll come back and explain what happened." She said. "Okay." Angelique and I said at the same time as we watched her grab Juniors stuff and walked out the door to go lay him down.

"Wow.. I didn't even realize the glass breaking until you ran." Angelique said. "I know. Thank god I heard it or Jasmine would've been hurt. I was in my thoughts then I heard noise and it broke me Outta my thoughts so I ran inside." I said. "Damn! Thank you for being in your thoughts for once." Angelique said. And we both chuckled. I scratched my head wanting to know what triggered Sammy to get mad.

Jasmine walked in."So, what happened? You gonna tell us now?" I asked shrugging. "Yeah." She said. We all sat down on my bed. She started explaining her story. "So, Sammy took a couple of shots, and slammed down a couple of beers." Jasmine said. "Then he started opening another beer." She said. "Anotha one." I interrupted her. And we all started laughing.

"I started telling him 'Why're Drinking? Junior Is Right Here! We Promised We Wouldn't Drink In Front Of Him!' I told him." As she continued. "He's like 'I know I know. But I need it.' I was like 'For What? Stop!' And I tried grabbing the beer to throw it away and he flipped out and that when all that happened." As she finished her story.

Angelique and I both looked at her a little shocked. "Wow. I didn't know he could flip out so easily after a couple beers." Angelique said. "Same." I said. "But I mean at least you're safe now. At least for the night." I added. "Yeah." Angelique said. "Let's do something to get it off your mind." She added "Mario Kart?" Jasmine said. "Let's go." I said.

And we ended the night with Mario Kart and some snacks.
