Time Glitch

When my cousin and I were younger we loved to get into trouble with each other. 

We were almost the exact same age being only a few weeks apart so when we got in trouble for stupid things it was nothing new to us.

I remember this very vividly for being probably only 5 or 6 at the time.

We were staying at my grandparents house in another state.

We had gotten in trouble for something stupid that I can't remember.

My mother was there with us but my father wasn't and neither were his parents, who decided to stay at home while my father stayed home for work.

We were sent to stand in a corner like children are, but we were out on opposite sides of the room so we couldn't "plot anything".

We were standing there staring at each other trying to figure out if we can make ourselves blink at the same time.

I know it sounds stupid but we thought it was a fun thing to do while standing there.

It was getting really dark and we were still standing there, it had been about and hour and a half now, probably around 11:00 pm when we finally managed to blink at the same time.

When we opened our eyes it was morning.

The sun was up and the look of shock on his face told me it wasn't just me that saw it.

We didn't feel tired, we were still standing straight up, we hadn't fallen asleep, nothing.

My mother woke up and asked us if we had been standing there the whole night and we nodded and she said that she was sorry she had left us there and that we could have gone to bed as soon as she fell asleep.

We were still in shock and she asked us if we were okay, we nodded again and asked if we could go play and she agreed.

We walked outside to play on the swings but we couldn't stop thinking about that moment.

We had tried to do it again but we never could, we had talked about the experience the whole day and never told anyone except my older brother.

I asked him if he still remembers this experience and he said he did and that he still hasn't told anyone or brought it up thinking that he had just imagined it.

I know we didn't.
