Kaida's POVJanuary 2022
England, London.
"Hey watch where your going!"
I hear someone shout in my direction as I get shoved to the side out of the way as I mentally prepare myself and was about to step through my classroom doorway. Great. School was always the same constantly being pushed, tripped, called names it didn't matter which school I got transferred too it happened everywhere.
"Your such a freak."
The same person who had just shoved me comments as they take their seat. Jacob Gray. The most popular guy in school but who also just happens to be a giant arrogant asshole. Especially to me. And why? Well I had no idea why, remembering memories of me being younger where I would go home crying after one of his pranks on me. Telling my foster parents who really just weren't interested in listening or talking to me, as long as I told the social worker that everything was fine and that both Mary and Robert were the best parents I could ever wish for then there would be no problems . I had landed into foster care when mum had passed away having died in a car crash when I was five years old. A drunken driver, I could still remember the smell of him when he had begged for my forgiveness having tracked him down not even a year ago on my seventeenth birthday. Somehow having gotten off the hook for basic man slaughter. Rich bastards.
The echoes of laughter catch my attention having not realized I was still stood in the same spot, my English lector who is now standing behind me waiting for me to move out of the way as well as other late students.
Taking a deep breath, I gather all the strength I can muster and quickly make my way to the usual spot I sit in at the back corner of the classroom. Continuously ignoring the whispers and eyes following me. Sliding into the cheap plastic that they call a seat I pull the books out from my bag before dropping it on to the seat beside me but stopping when a cough and a deep voice causes me to look up.
"Is this seat taken?"
A muscular tall guy asks me. His dirty blonde hair slightly spiked up and styled to the side. His white shirt clinging to his muscular chest, his dark brown eyes glimmering at me as something shifts inside them as if they had just changed colour for a split second,
"Oh my god he's so hot"
Noticing it wasn't just me checking him out but the rest of the classroom. Instead of waiting for an answer he pulls back the empty chair and sits down beside me, a wide smile now sporting across his lips.
"Sorry i..uh.."
Now feeling like a complete idiot for not answering him. Come on, really needing to get myself together. His bare arm now brushing against mine as his whole body takes up the entire space nearly invading mine.
"It's okay Kaida."
Winking at me as he chuckles, his eyes going to the front of the class before returning back to me.
"How did you know my name-"
His eyebrows raising slightly before moving his right hand and pointing to my book that clearly states my name with his index finger. I'm so stupid, someone kill me now.
"for a small little thing your not a people person are you."
Once again his eyes going to the front of the class, before I can answer him, our teacher Mr. Horaldson slams a book on his desk causing the whole room to go into silence.
"The power of good and bad. Light and dark. Heaven and Hell. saviors and sinners. A balance, everything has a balance to the start of a story their must be an end. I want us to dive deeper into our ancestors past and explore what life they lived had brought us to where we are today. The stories that were told and as we know them today, so lets start with a classic-"
Jumping as the lights switch off suddenly as a screen monitor switches on projecting on to a white screen at the front of the classroom that Mr. Horaldson finishes sliding down.
"Hercules."
Hercules? As in the Disney film and Greek Demigod?
"I like this film. Though some of it, eh is a bit far fetched for my liking."
The guy beside me whispers, his breath warming my ear as he leans closer to me. Heat radiating from his body as I hold my breath when his right hand completely covers my left one. Still being able to smell the fresh soap he'd used this morning, he smelled sweet like honey and vanilla tickling the inside of my nose. Sliding my hand out from under his, I cross both of my arms and lean forward on to my desk. I didn't need to watch the film having seen it and read the books multiple times at the local library that I had spent most of my life in.
"Not much of a talker either huh?"
Choosing to ignore him. He would soon be roped into the social ladder and poisoned by untruthful stories about me. It was always the same and it was down to one person whom made sure my life was a living hell, Jacob.
"You know,"
Feeling an elbow nudge me gently as I continue to stare forwards a few heads now moving to look back in my direction when the guy speaks again.
"Your name means little dragon in Japanese."
Oh dear lord would he just shut up, not wanting to get in trouble and create a scene. Again. Even though the last time I was sent to the principle it wasn't my fault and I had an insanely bad migraine and they wouldn't leave me alone. The voices inside my head, still being able to remember the painful screams and cries for help but this time...it was worse. I couldn't shut them out.
"You okay?"
Gasping when I feel a hand wrap around my wrist, not realizing I was stood up out of my chair and the whole class staring at me and then at the table. Casting my gaze downwards a deep breath leaving my lips as the same symbol I had been dreaming of is now scorched in the middle of my table. What was happening to me??
