𝙻𝙾𝚂 𝙰𝙽𝙶𝙴𝙻𝙴𝚂, 𝙲𝙰"It's hot as hell." I picked up a paper plate and used it to fan myself. "Why is it so hot it's literally February,"
"Feel like my balls sweating." Syian mumbled and I looked at him. "What?"
"That's nasty."
"I'm being honest."
"Try not to be." I said as we walked in the backyard and I looked around seeing people wearing pink or blue, showing what they think it is, and a few people wearing purple to show that they wanted either/or.
"Here you go, you say baby and the pin gets taken away." Some lady smiled holding out a bowl of pins and I stared at them before looking at her.
"Who are you?" I squinted.
"Quinta Parker, I used to live across the street from Dahlia and Michael." She explained, but I was still confused. "Syian knows my daughter, they used to be good friends."
"I'm still confused, I'm sorry, who is your daughter?"
"Oh, Nyasia. I'm not sure if she's going to come as well-"
"She won't, she's not invited." I gave her a fake smile. "If she does she'll get curb stomped, thanks for the pin though, and your hair is very pretty!"
I grabbed a pin and walked off with Syian trailing behind me. "I wish you'd get off of my tail, you don't have anybody to talk to? No old flings?"
"See, now you about to do the most."
"You invited her mother to our gender reveal, yes I'm about to do the most!" I stomped my feet, but it started throbbing almost immediately. "Ow,"
"I invited her mother, not Nyasia. The invite was specifically addressed to Quinta Parker, not Nyasia Parker. She ain't invited, I invited her mother for the same reason I invited damn near all of the adults that stayed on my block, they watched me grow up and I gained bonds with them, close or not."
"Okay." I said plainly, I didn't have the energy to go back and forth with him and I was originally going to just walk away until I thought about what our therapist said.
Communication is important in a relationship.
"I just wish you would've told me before you invited her. If you would've told me and made it clear that it was just her mother, nine times out of ten I would've been fine with it, I just wish you would've told me in advance." I tried putting the pin on, but ended up stabbing myself.
"You right, and I should've." He came closer and took the pin from me, putting it on for me. "That's my bad."
I just nodded my head, not giving him a response and he grabbed the sides of my face and kissed my forehead before walking off to go and socialize and I made my way over to where the chips were and grabbed a bag of Funyuns. I opened the bag up and grabbed some ketchup and shook it up and poured it in the bag, smiling when I realized none of the ketchup pre-cum had dripped in the bag.
I grabbed a napkin and was about to reach down to get a water bottle but stopped seeing a hand grab it for me. "Here you go, pretty lady,"
