*Loki's POV
"So you're telling me it was actually Odin who stabbed you?" Peter asked. "Yes, so if you could not rampage on Stark, and the city of New York, that would be much appreciated." I teased, but his face remained hard, "Then it's Odin I must exact my revenge on." He said brows furrowing. Revenge was hot on him, but it wasn't Peter. I softly smiled and placed a hand on his shoulder, "Peter you can't, you know vengeance isn't the answer. It's better to forgive and move on." Peter looked at me before asking, "You killed him already didn't you?" To which I gave in, "Yeah, sorry. To be fair I thought you were dead." "So much for vengeance is wrong." Peter rolled his eyes, but I could see a smile and relief cross his face. "Hey Romeo, Juliet, Julian? Wheels up in five, I think it's time you go home." Romanoff yelled to us before going back into the staircase. "Thank's Nat, we'll be there." I called back to her. She popped her head back out though to threaten "Call me Nat again and you start losing fingers starting with your favorite. The middle." I smiled and flipped her off "Love you too Nat." Peter all the while remaining silent. We looked over the edge of the roof to the remains of New York. All was calm which considering the day we just had that was surprising. It was strange, with the sun setting New York, rubble and all, looked absolutely beautiful. I looked to Peter who turned his head to me. "You know this year's growth spurt really isn't fair." I said, which made him laugh, but it was a sad laugh. "A year" he exasperated with a sigh. "I missed you Loki." He said, now turning his full body to me going for a hug. "I've missed you too Peter." We hugged, until Peter pulled away to look down at me. His arms still rested on my lower back, keeping our bodies together. I could sense Peter leaning down for a kiss. So I did the only sensible thing you can do when your long thought dead boyfriend tries to kiss you after causing chaos to an entire city. I pushed him off the edge of a building. "Loki what the hell?" He said coming up frustrated and hair windswept. I brushed his hair out of his face with my hand, "That was pay back. Besides, it's kind of our thing." I softly said before going in for a kiss. I'm not sure if this counts as a make-up moment but damn do I understand what they mean when they say the best part of fighting is making up. "Why does jumping off buildings have to be our thing? Why can't it be nice peaceful strolls through the park?" Peter questioned with a fake pouty look on his face. "Well, I suppose it's because I just like falling for you too damn much." I smiled before kissing him again. We came out of the kiss out of breath and both smiling like idiots. He removed his right hand from my waist and slid his left to pull me into his side, as we began to head for the stairway. "You know that's a figure of speech, right?" Peter said to me in a slick way, my grin widened and I let my head fall onto his shoulder, "I know Peter, but making it literal is just so much more fun."
Home at last. The family reunion we never thought we'd get. Two gods, an orphan and his aunt who'd never thought they'd see each other again. Sounds like the start of a bad joke, and yet here we are. A door away. I went to go knock, but Peter grabbed my hand and looked to me with such fear in his eyes. "Loki, I don't know if this is such a good idea." he said his eyes looking just about everywhere but into mine. "Peter, it's just May. She loves you and misses you. You'll be fine." This didn't seem to calm his nerves though. I pulled our entwined hands together and kissed his before lowering them and preparing to knock again. But before I got the chance Thor barged up to the door slamming his big meaty hands into the door. I couldn't really see May past Thor's fat ass but I could hear the door open, May's shock and fear of this oaf who let himself in, and Thor declaring "So this is where you've kept my little brother the past year." Once Thor was out of the way I could actually see May's terror as she watched Thor and asked puzzled, "Your- Your brother?" before turning back to the door way. Peter fidgeted, but the look on May's face said it all. She cried, she smiled, she mourned, and she laughed. It took a couple hours to catch her up to speed, all in which her eyes did not leave Peter once. I couldn't blame her, I did the same thing in the midst of a battle. We all had dinner, and tea. We sat by the fireplace, just happy to have one another's presence. It had been such a nice and peaceful night, in comparison to the day though I believe just about anything would have been considered peaceful. That was until Fury decided to phone me into work, "Come on Peter I think it's time I introduce you to S.H.I.E.L.D." I let down my hand offering it to help him up. "You two have fun." Thor announced from his spot from the couch eating his fifth doughnut. "Oh no, no, no, no. I am not subjecting poor May here to a night with you. You are coming with us." I dragged Thor off the couch and too the door.
As we stood on the roof looking up to the night sky Peter seemed very confused, "What are we doing up here?" he asked. Inspiration coming from every spy movie I put on a pair of sunglasses, widened my stance, clasped my hands together and told him "You just wait." Peter of course was not having it. He took my sunglasses off and threw them over his shoulder, "You look like an idiot Loki. No one where's sunglasses at night." As he finished his sentence I heard the compartment open, but due to cloaking I didn't really see it. Slowly the interior of the quinjet showed as Barton waved us in "Get in losers. There's work to be done." I sorely pointed out to Peter "He's wearing sunglasses." as we walked on board. Peter being absolutely star struck replied "Yeah but he actually looks good in them." Butt hurt I took my seat while Peter roamed the ship asking Barton a million questions. This left Thor and I a minute. "So Loki, what now?" he asked, saddling up next to me. I never really thought of that, of what happens now that Peter is back. "I guess now I get to live. I get to live my life with the man I love. And I get to grow old with him." I smiled at the thought. "You don't mean-" Thor started but I didn't let him finish. "I do. You can tell Iduna I will no longer be needing her apples to retain my youth." I couldn't tell if Thor was shocked or happy I would get old and die. "You seem a little too happy about this." I said sceptically "Of course I'm not happy my brother is going to die so young. But I have to say, this is the happiest I've ever seen you. Who am I to object to your following of love?" Thor gave me a sad smile and brotherly shake of my shoulders. "I think that's the wisest thing you've ever said." I told him, slightly shocked that came out of his mouth. "I must ask though, why now? What is so special about this boy?" Thor said with genuine confusion. "I saw him. The real him, who he was, and who he is. He took me in knowing all of my past and still held open his loving arms. He accepted me for who I am. And I he. Look at him." I pointed to Peter across the room, "Look at how his eyes spark with fascination. The way they gleam with curiosity. Even after all that he's been through, he still has hope. How could you not love that?" I finished as Peter walked up. We rode the rest of the way to the Triskelion in silence.
When we got to the base we learned there was no urgent business, but rather a reassignment of jobs, as well as a recovery for all affected by the scepter. Which is why they wanted us there, they wanted Peter to address all of the victims of mind control. After giving a speech of all that he's been through and why he did what he did Peter, Thor, and I went around mingling, and individually talking with everyone. Though the most interesting conversation had to be with Jane. I'd worked with Jane previously but we never had much conversation beyond the science of the tesseract. "So you're the Peter Loki is always talking about?" Jane asked right away. Peter gave her an awkward smile and nodded. "Peter, this is Jane, one of the scientists I worked with." Peter looked down at the floor, "I know, I kind of mind controlled her." he looked up to her "I'm so sorry." he said, his eyes pleading for forgiveness. Jane smiled and replied "Hey, no worries. You were brainwashed through torture. I think I got away easy here." Jane always had a way to lighten a room like that. "So, how did you two meet." She asked wide eyed and ready to hear an enchanting story. "My uncle hit him with a car." Peter said very bluntly. She looked to me for more elaboration to which I only gave her more to question, "I was dehydrated and delirious in the middle of the desert." I shrugged. Thor joined the conversation, "Who cares about that old story, I think you'd be quite interested in my heroine's tale of triumph in battle. As well as my rise to king of gods." Thor boasted, I don't think his chin could have gotten any higher. He was basically flexing his biceps in Jane's face. "Oh boy, I wish I could hit you with my car." She rolled her eyes and walked away. The night went on, and when it ended we returned home, to our room. It felt so nice to have Peter in the room together again, or should I say bed. After a year we both felt it would be disastrous to stay apart, so we decided we would share a bed from now on, as we will share our life.
