Aubrey and a few of his guys hid away in the studio to work on some music, which meant double everything. Selena loved to cook, and luckily enough for her, Aubrey and his friends enjoyed her cooking just as much as he does. Most would not admit, but they would find any reason to come over to see what she was making on her day home. Aubrey's trainer knew that he had to work extra hard to keep him in shape because he knew Selena fed him too much.

Selena found cooking peaceful, and it took her mind off of work and anything else that was weighing her down at the moment. Now that Aria was down for her mid-day nap, it was the perfect time for Selena to get started on dinner. Selena settled on making Caprese Chicken, Pasta Primavera with a light salad on the side. She knew of Aubrey's love for Italian food, but she always added a healthy twist adding more veggies for their sake more than hers.

As Selena finished draining the water from her pasta, she walked over to her ringing phone on the other side of the counter. Once she saw who was calling her, her eyes rolled, debating whether to acknowledge the call or not; in the end, she did, "Oh, so now you decide to call me?" She sassed, putting the call on speaker so that she could carry on with making dinner.

"Selena, sweetheart," Loribelle sighed from her end of the call.

"What, momma?" She huffed, pouring the chopped vegetables into the heated skillet on the stove. "Why haven't you been here?" She asked her mother, and it had been weeks since she had last seen her mother or her uncle since Aria was born. All of her family from Mexico and the ones who lived in Houston made a spectacle of little Aria coming into the world, making Selena happy.

After the first two weeks, Selena noticed that her mother, who once practically glued to her hip, left her independently. She could barely get her on the phone; it was never for long periods when she did. Selena felt as if her mother was doing the same thing as she did when her father deteriorated.

Selena thought that Loribelle would have been more present after all of their work to fix their relationship. Selena wanted her mother to be by her side how she had always told Selena that she would have been. She was not, and that immensely hurt Selena. "Because I-I know how upset Aubrey was when I was around, and I just thought that with the new baby, you two would have liked the space." Loribelle tried to explain, and it was the truth, well, mostly. Loribelle could not just tell her the actual reasonings on why she had to keep her distance from her daughter and granddaughter.
