 *Louis' POV*

We all followed Lucas up the flight of stairs and down the long hallway. He pointed out rooms for us as we went and then stopped at one of the last doors.

"I hope you don't mind sharing this room with your friend," he asked Harry and I, "The maids couldn't get any of the other rooms cleared out and the only other available one is where Charlie is."

"Don't worry about it," I nodded at him, "We don't mind."

Lucas gave us all a nod and began to leave when Harry stopped him.

"Hey Lucas, right?" he asked.

"Yes," the young man turned to look at Harry.

"Who is this Jake person everyone keeps mentioning? His name seems to really piss off Mandy," he asked shyly.

Lucas' gaze softened, and he sighed deeply. He looked ready to go to just walk away, but something in Harry's face must have triggered him to give the boy an explanation.

"Her ex-boyfriend," he told us, "He completely broke her heart a few years back by cheating on her and impregnating another woman."

He seemed to be getting angry as he talked about it. Harry and I exchanged glances.

"That's terrible," Harry said softly, more to himself.

"I know, but I feel like she should be the one to tell you guys the full story," Leon added, "Now I hope you guys have a good night."

With that, he finally turned to leave, disappearing down the hallway into another room.

"Well, shall we snooze?" Harry asked me as he opened the door to the room.

"You go ahead," I told him, "I'm gonna go sleep at Charlotte's room."

I left him alone, and made my way to where she was being kept; there she was sound asleep, the color on her face looking much better than it had before. I took a seat on the little sofa next to the bed and settled in for the night. There was no way that I would leave her alone tonight. I wanted to be the first person she saw when she woke up.

*Charlotte's POV*

It was early the next morning when I awoke to a pounding in my head. I looked around, momentarily unsure of where I was, then suddenly it hit me. I was at Mandy's house, not the apartment, but the house. There had been a shooting at the club, and I had gotten shot on the leg.

"Good, you're awake," I heard a male voice say beside me.

I turned and saw Nick sitting in a chair by the bed. He looked exhausted, yet his eyes still managed to look amused.

"Good morning," I croaked out.

"How are you feeling?" he asked me.

"Who are you, the doctor?" I teased, "I'm just a bit stiff is all," I told him anyway.

Nick cracked a smile, but it quickly vanished, something was bothering him.

"What's wrong?" I asked him, knowing that with me the man was terrible at hiding his emotions.

"That guy, Louis, he really seems to care for you," he said, "You know he stayed here all night with you? He just left an hour ago to eat breakfast, but Mandy did have to drag him away."

"Really? Even after all I've done to him?" I asked in disbelief, more to myself.

"I guess yeah," Nick looked pensive, "I did something bad," he admitted.
