A few minutes later - filled with silence and the gentle hum of the engine - we reached my place. I paid the driver the fare, and hopped out. Thanking him one last time before heading up the stairs of the building up to my apartment. I slipped in my key and let myself into the dim place.

"Mandy?" I called out warily.

"In here!" I heard Mandy call out from her bedroom.

I went over and opened the door to her room. I saw my roommate, who was also my older cousin and close friend sitting on her bed. She was fiddling on her laptop, and jamming out to classical music.

"What's up Charlie?" Mandy asked, calling me by my nickname.

"I took an extra shift, and had to find my way home" I told my cousin.

"I was wondering where you were," Mandy said mockingly, "It's such a shock that you were at Synergy, but why didn't you call me to go get you?"

I stuck my tongue out at her and started laughing, "You see, I would have called but I forgot my phone here."

Mandy and I went way back. Not only counting the family ties, since it was her family who had taken me in at a time of need. Now we were on our own, living in our own apartment, and attending the University of Chicago downtown.

"I should have known," she laughed.

"Yeah," I said, trailing off.

I had decided against telling Mandy what had happened tonight. I knew she would freak out and get all motherly and shit.

"Well I'm going to hit the hay," I said yawning dramatically, "I'm exhausted."

"Goodnight darling," Mandy told me.

I headed over to my bedroom and put my bag on the nightstand. I slipped off the uniform, which consisted of a tight fitting black dress and underneath I wore some basic lingerie. I took it all off and put on a comfy pair of boy shorts and a simple sports bra. Then over it I slipped on an old t-shirt that had a metal band logo on it.

I found my phone by the pillow where I had surely left it charging and checked it for any calls or messages. There was only a call from my mom and a text from Mandy. I made a mental note to call my mom tomorrow, and then I headed over to the bathroom. I washed my face and brushed my teeth and then went back to my room, knocking out as soon as my head hit the pillow.

*Louis POV*

Who was she and why was it angering me so much that she got away? Maybe it was because I was getting so used to getting what I wanted and for once I was unable to do just that. After watching the cab drive off with her in it, I trudged back up to my suite. Liam was waiting for me by my still open door, looking really confused.

"Was that a hired hooker?" he asked me upfront.

"What? No! I found her downstairs looking scared so I invited her up here," I argued, not wanting Liam to reveal this to the guys.

"If you say so," Liam finally said, looking doubtful, "Oh and Lou, go get some shut eye, we have a concert tomorrow."

I nodded and went into my suite; I went to my bed and let myself fall on to it. Why was this bothering me so much? I would probably never see her again, but if I did I would for sure do something about it.

*Charlotte's POV*

I woke up to the smell of coffee and I immediately waddled over to the kitchen. I found Mandy stirring batter to what appeared to be blueberry pancakes.
