Episode/Chapter 3 - The Loss of 3 More

Lloyd's POV

All of us (Jay, Cole, Zane, Pixal, Wu, and me) were up in the sky on our elemental dragons (apart from Pixal, she was with Zane) on our way to the village of Ignacia.

"Master Wu?"

"Yes, Lloyd?"

"How'd... How'd you know that Kai called me?" I ask. The question had been on the tip of my tongue for about 5 minutes before I finally decided to break the silence between the 6 of us.

"I was going to ask the same thing!" Cole exclaimed catching up behind me.

"He called me, too." Oh.

"Wait- But why? He'd already called Lloyd, so why call you too?" Jay said beside Cole.

"You hadn't come, and Kai needs desperate help. Now, I see the village, hurry up, ninja." Wu turned his dragon down and we all followed in suit.

As well landed in the village, multiple people looked at us. We had gotten used to people doing that by now, but this time it felt awkward and uncomfortable.

"So... How are we going to find Kai?" Cole said turning to Wu.

"He's at his home, the blacksmith shop," Wu said, looking around. "Ah well, of course, the village has changed, I haven't been here in a while..." We all looked around a little lost with what to do now, I had the idea that Zane or Pixal could search up a map for directions but before I could suggest it, someone came up to us.

"Hello there! Are you lost?" We all gave each other a side glance before I spoke up.

"Uhm, yes, we're looking for a blacksmith shop? Four weapons?" I say, and the girls face lit up.

"Oh! Are you also friends with Kai? I was going to go there right now to pay his parents a visit with my girlfriend! Sadly, I'm not quite sure where Kai is himself..." She spoke very quickly, and I wasn't sure what to say. She probably noticed our awkward looks and spoke again. "Sorry, I'm Valentina! And that girl running up to us is Emma, my girlfriend!"

"Val! I told you to stop running!" Puffed Emma. "Have you now gathered a whole parade to go to visit Ray and Maya or something?" Emma crossed her arms as Valentina giggled. Emma sighed and turned to us. "We'd better get going if you are coming with us, ninja, we promised to be there at 5,"

"Oooooh, they're the ninja! That's why they look familiar," Valentina looked surprised and in awh at the same time.

"Yes, we need to go too, preferably the fastest root," Wu said impatiently.

"Oh, yes, our apologies!" Emma pulled on Valentina's sleeve and then they both started running down the path with us not far behind. They turned left and right, ran straight down a bustling market, and then a sharp turn into an alley which took us to a flat grass field. Across it, there was a road, and across that was a pathway leading up a hill to the blacksmith.

After we'd crossed the road, I could see Kai standing at the entrance to the shop.

"Kai!" I yell, but Kai stayed as still as a statue. We run up the path and we followed Kai's eyes to look at the horrifying scene.

Maya was lying on the floor limp under a noose that was hanging from a hook on the ceiling, and Ray had a knife in his chest and was sitting against the side of the counter.

There were multiple gasps, including one from me.

"ZANE, CALL AN AMBULANCE!" Wu shouts running up beside Maya and Ray on the floor. I looked up from the puddle of blood under Ray, to Kai's face. He looked pale with shock, and he had tears running down his cheeks with his mouth slightly open as if he objected to this being reality. There were murmurs from the others but there was still a strong silence.
