Mia's Pov:
While driving home from work I didn't notice that my car was almost on E. Just great. All the gas stations are closed and most likely I was going to need a boost.
It also didn't help that there was a gas shortage, which made gas high as hell. "Fuck." I mumbled to myself as I pulled over. I cracked the windows a little so some air could come in and made sure all my doors was locked. After that I turned the car off and pulled out my phone.
After I unlocked my phone, I went to my contacts, clicked on recent and clicked on Ava's name. I clicked on it and waited for her to answer. After it ringed a couple times I hung up knowing that she was asleep.
I let out a sigh, and started scrolling through my contacts again to see who I could call. After scrolling through my contacts, a good 5 times. I remembered that I had a number for roadside assistance.
I turned on my interior light and started to look through my car. "Shit." I cursed.
A couple seconds later:
"Thank God." I said as I pulled out the envelope form the glove department.
I grabbed my phone unlocked it and dialed the number, hoping for an answer. "Hello road assistance, how may I help you?" The operator said. "Yes. Hi, my car ran out of gas." I told the operator.
"I see. Can you give me your location." The operator replied. "Umm, Cleveland Avenue." I said while putting on my jacket on since it started getting more cooler at night.
"That'll take almost 2 hours." The operator said. "2 hours?" I said in shock. "Yes ma'am 2." The operator replied calmly. "Well can you call somebody else that'll get here quicker." I asked. "No ma'am sorry." The operator said while letting out a small sigh. "Ok that's fine." I said then hung up.
Once I hung up, I went back to my contacts and tried to call Ava again. Straight to voicemail. I knew that if I didn't call anybody, I'll probably freeze to death.
I went to my contacts again and clicked on his name. Dylan. I clicked on the FaceTime icon and waited for him to answer the FaceTime call.
"Hello?" He said with rasp in his tone. "Dylan, I need a boost." I said straight forwardly. "Baby it's 1 in the morning." He said while rubbing his eyes. "Yeah, I know." I said not really caring.
"Why should I help you? You've been ignoring me this whole week." He said teasingly. "Dylan please I don't have time." I replied back with a frustrated tone. He stayed quiet. "If you help me, I'll come over tomorrow." I said knowing that's he what he wanted. "Deal." He said while shifting around.
"Send me your location." He said while getting up. "Ok." I replied back. "Mia that's a whole hour away from my apartment." He said while turning on his room light. "Well speed." I said not caring. I really just wanted to go home.
"You want me to get a ticket?" He said while placing his phone on the bed. "Take the backroad." I said while getting comfortable in my seat. After he put on his shirt and shoes, he told me to wait.
30 Minutes later
I jumped up at the sudden tapping on my window. "I could've been a murder, and you out here sleeping." Dylan said while pulling on my door handle. "Stop you gone break it." I said while unlocking the door. After he opened the door, he handed me a box of Goldfish. "You bought me goldfish." I said in disbelief. "Be thankful, I could've left you out here to starve." Dylan said while picking up the can of gasoline.
"Now open the gas tank." He said while backing up towards the gas tank. "I can't see." He said while feeling on the side of the car. "Hold on I got a flashlight." I said while grabbing my small flashlight with a taser at the end.
I turned the light, and playfully pressing the button on the side of the taser making it light up. "Girl stop playing." He said while backing up some more. "Ok Imma stop." I said while smiling. "Hold it here." He while positioning my hand. After he said that, he smiled to himself. "What?" I said confused by what was smiling at. "You got small hands, that's all baby." He said while opening the gas cap.
I rolled my eyes. After he opened the red gasoline can, he poured some in fuel hole. After a good 1 minute he stopped. "I think that's good." He said while putting the gas cap back on. After he closed the gas tank, and the gasoline can he said, " Go crank up the car, and tell me if you need some more."
"Ok." I said while walking back to driver seat. I bent over the seat put the keys in ignition and turned them to the right. After turning the car on I looked over at the gas light. "This good enough." I yelled back to Dylan. No answer. I then felt a pair of hands on my hips. He leant himself down a little and checked it himself. "Yeah, that's good." He said. He backed himself up and said, "Text me once you get home. Ok?".
"Yeah." I said while setting myself up. He then gave me a kiss on the forehead and said, "I'll see you tomorrow." And started walking back to his car.
Time Skip:
After getting out the car and up the stairs to me and Ava's apartment. I put the key in the key lock and unlocked it. Once in the house I took off my shoes and turned on the light. I locked the door back. I walked into the kitchen and washed my hands. After that I noticed that the living room tv was still on. After drying my hands, I walked over to turn it off.
Which is when I noticed Ava who was dead asleep on the couch, with Snuggles beside her. I walked over to grab the cover that we always keep on the couch and covered her with it. I grabbed her phone and out it on the charger and turned on the small black lamp on the table beside her.
Once that was done, I walked back over to the door, and turned off the light switch to the living room. Which after that I walked up stairs to my room took a shower, brushed my teeth, washed my face, put on my bonnet and laid down.
Which reminded me that Dylan said to text him.
