Tsu

My mouth went dry as I saw him, he stood in front of us, like a Phoenix rising from the ashes. The darkness swarmed around him, shadows moving in and around him, touching him, hiding him. He stood stock still watching, never once upset or bothered by their presence, it was it's own being. It took a moment for them to settle before allowing him to move.
He was the same tall kid he'd always been, but it was obvious something was different about him.
Whereas before, he'd had an almost childlike wonder to him now, it was very evident he was untrusting of everything. His eyes were cold as they scanned over us, barely sparring Jason or Mikey a glance. Of course he wouldn't recognize Jason's new form, but the coldness there shocked me.
Finally, he roamed our three faces and I felt as his eyes locked onto mine for a moment before continuing on. When he was done, he scoffed and crossed his arms in front of himself. That's when I saw it. It was a quick flash, but it was there. He had a mark on his arm. But not scarring- this was different. It looked familiar, my gaze flicked to Jake and then Dylan and the others and I saw it on them as well.
In the exact same place as I'd glanced Timothy's, a tattoo. I felt my throat tighten as tears threatened to fall, "Timothy." His name came out barely a whisper, almost like a prayer. I'd waited months to see him, to know he was ok. To know he was alive.
We'd heard nothing since the two fingers were sent, Jerome had said he was lost and Kai and Davi had listened. It was hard on them, you could tell, but they'd grudgingly done so. Seeing him here was mind blowing, I felt the joy rise inside of me as I stared at him.
It was short lived though. Once the overwhelming joy at seeing him alive wore off, it was like I could actually see him. He wasn't dirty or covered in blood his hair wasn't matted, his clothes weren't torn and grungy. He looked, good.
Too good. His hands were bandaged and I grimaced as I remember the two warnings we'd received in the week after he'd been taken. He lost his fingers because we were too weak to stand up to Jerome. Because Jerome didn't think he was useful, because we couldn't protect him.
My heart lurched at that last one. I swallowed the bitter bile that had rose to my throat and looked to his face again. it was strange, emotions and empathy had ceased existing for me ever since the surgery with Davi and Doris. But, it seemed, when it came to Timothy, something about him made me feel. I felt my eyes go wide as I met his.
He didn't back down or even flinch away as he once would have for being caught staring. This time, he met me stare for stare. It was unsettling, not because of holding the eye contact, I could've done that all day. But because it gave me a chance to look into them. I saw pain, anger, fear, sadness and even a little bit of cockiness. It's what I didn't see that broke my heart.
In these past months Timothy had grown, he'd been forced to, no longer was he the shy, sweet, happy kid. The young boy who trailed after Doris eating strawberries and holding Misther as they laughed and played.
Now there was a young man, who was devoid of any form of hope. In his eyes, I saw nothing that looked like hope, happiness, or even light. It was all just dead. I opened my mouth to speak when he turned his attention to Kai beside me, I watched as anger filled his eyes.
It scared me, I no longer knew just what he was capable of. When he spoke, each word was practically dripping with anger, it was clear just whom he hated. "Hello, Kai. Heard you were worried about me?" Kai didn't respond, only looked Timothy over.
Davi didn't say a word either, he was locked in a stare down with Dylan while Jake stood watching the emotions fly between Kai and Timothy. Mikey looked clammy, his skin was pale and sweat beaded his brow. Why the hell is he so worried? Jason- he looked sick. The sight of his brother was quite clearly overwhelming for him.
Davi turned then from Dylan who smirked at having won the stare off. He looked Timothy up and down before tilting his head to the side and addressing the younger. "Wow, look at you, all grown up." Timothy glared but didn't answer and, as I watched, Jake chuckled, putting his hand on Timothy's shoulder. "Hell yea he is, that's what happens when you leave someone for a month and some change to fend for themself." Timothy chuckled and I turned my gaze back to him, it was an odd sound.
There was no joy in it, a sound made just for the sake of being made. "Yea, I've grown. What of it?" He was so cold, I couldn't help but stare, is this what I look like? Can the others see it as clearly as I can? Do I not hide it as well?
I worried at my lip but stayed silent while Kai took up the conversation, "new ink?" He asked calmly, my gaze shot up and as it did, Timothy smirked and twisted his wrist so we could see his right forearm. I sucked in my breath as he did, "oh, Timothy." I said quietly. On his wrist was the same thing that was on the others, they each turned their forearms out and I could see it was an exact match.
A family crest. My stomach flipped and I felt bile rise in my throat and turned to see Kai's lips had gone thin in a straight line. Davi pursed his own and Mikey looked like his eyes were going to pop out of his head.
Jason- he remained stoic. Timothy chuckled at our reactions, and it was a cruel sound. "Oh please, don't look so shocked. Can't understand why you'd be bothered now, I mean, after all, I'm worthless, right?" Kai opened his mouth and Timothy shook his head before turning to look at each of us again. The smile that played at his lips was sickening.
It wasn't sweet or alluring at all, it was twisted and made my blood run cold. He was calculating as he watched us, he was studying our every reaction. His gaze travelled to Davi before skipping to Mikey. He raised a brow but didn't say anything and flicked past Jason to land on me.
He took a deep breath and sighed. His clothes were dark now, they were definitely hand me downs but that isn't to say they were disgusting. Just faded from true black to a sort of grey-black color. His hair had grown so it now touched his shoulders and he's definitely grown a few inches.
When he speaks again, his voice doesn't hold the anger it once had. Instead, it sounds quiet almost sad, "Jake tells me that Jerome refused to come after me. That I was no longer useful. Is that true?" I closed my eyes briefly but didn't answer. I couldn't. He sighed, "yea. Guess I kind of already knew that, what with losing my pinky and all. And then the ring finger." He said with a shrug, Kai stood there speechless.
No ones ever made him speechless. Except for Jerome, of course. We were under him.
I watched him and realized he was trying to find a way to smooth everything over. His mind was going a million miles a minute, but Timothy was having no part in that. He scoffed and turned away from Kai, to look at me.
As he did, I watched his eyes- which had been filled with a dead calm hatred- turn to a soft pool of sadness. I opened my mouth to speak but he smiled and held his finger to his lips. I nodded showing I understood and complied, "you're the one I really feel sorry for, Tsu. I can be mad at them, they did this to us- but you?"
He scoffs and shakes his head, "you genuinely worried about me. You, if I'd just listened to you, we'd be ok." His head dropped and he leaned against Jake who rubbed his back slowly, showing a United front. I felt my heart break, "you did what you thought was right. You have to keep doing that, it's only going to work for you." Kai shot me a side long look and I could tell he was not happy with what I was saying. I ignored him and stared intently at Timothy.
After a moment, he stepped back away from me and I sighed. Jake clapped a hand on Timothy's shoulder and I watched as the younger boy swelled with pride. Stahsi looked to Dave who shrugged. Jason had been watching the whole interaction without saying a word. I think he was frozen, until now.
Something was setting him off, his eyes were filled with rage and I felt as nausea slowly rolled through me.
Jake's eyes widened as the effect of Jason's new power hit him but Timothy moved quicker than I knew he could. He shoved Jake and stood in front of him, taking the brunt of Jason's blow. Instantly, he curled in on himself and fell to the ground heaving everything from his stomach out onto the ground. "Jason, stop!" I yelled his eyes widened in shock as Jake growled and lunged throwing something, there was a quiet thud and I heard a grunt.
Jason dropped his hand and, instantly, Timothy stopped throwing up, his body shook and sweat beaded his brow. His shirt stuck to his skin and it was clear his skin was clammy, Jason kneeled down before him and held his hands out.
Before he made contact, Timothy slapped them away and I heard Jason's sharp intake of breath. "Timothy, I-" his voice was shaky and that's when it finally clicked to me. You idiot! My mind screamed at me, Timothy isn't reacting to Jason because he doesn't know it's Jason.
I opened my mouth to voice this thought but Timothy was already up, backing away. He nodded to Jake and fell back in line with Dave and Stahsi. "I imagine that hurts, huh?" Jake said nodding to Kai, I frowned not understanding why I until turned to my left and saw it.
There was the hilt of a dagger sticking out of his stomach. He grunted and forced himself to stand straight, there was clear pain in his eyes but he forced it back. Jake smiled now, and Timothy spoke, "what happened to Jason's body?" His voice rang across the emptied room, having little to no furniture gave nothing to absorb the sound so it echoed around us. His face was calm, as though he didn't care, but his eyes gave him away.
In them, I saw worry. Jason opened his mouth but it was Kai who answered, "he's- around." His words were short, bitten off almost and I gnawed at the inside of my cheek. The dagger still resided in his stomach and blood had darkened his clothes around it. Still, he didn't remove it. "We're not here to discuss your brother, we're here to put an end to our arguing. We're here to get you back Timothy. Though, you don't exactly look to be in need of rescue."
Davi sneered and Timothy blanched, Dave and Stahsi stood motionless. It was unnerving how lifeless they seemed, and Jake just laughed "who are you kidding? Rescuing? Please, Timothy do you need rescued?"
He didn't answer, only shook his head and Jake laughed, "why are we here? Let's be honest. You're here because you were guilt tripped by someone who actually cares about him. You were 'afraid,' " he says using air quotes and rolling his eyes, "that Tsu would go on her own." Kai frowned, "we came after Timothy because he's an asset to our team. He's our family and you took him, you cut his fingers off. I'm done talking, give him back-" Timothy laughed. Dave and Stahsi stood at attention now and I could tell something had changed.
This is coming to a head, they're getting into position. I glanced at them but said nothing "where's Jason!?" Timothy yelled at Kai and I flinched, his voice never rose before, I'd never heard him yell- yet here it was.
Jason stepped forward, I could see the tears in his eyes now, and stood before Timothy. "I'm right here," his voice shook and he sniffed. It was clear he was trying not to cry, all eyes were on the brothers. When I moved to take a step, I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned and saw Kai, he looked pale and sweaty but the look in his eyes was firm. He shook his head slightly as if to say they need this and I nodded to show I understood.
His hand dropped and I watched as pain lit his features. I dropped my eyes not sure what else to do and saw Davi slowly slip his pinky finger into Kai's. I felt my eyebrows furrow as I stared in confusion. Their fingers wrapped around one another, and held each other. The smallest, briefest contact possible but it was there, I heard Kai suck in his breath and watched as his body went rigid.
He's healing him! Holy shit, he's- oh my god. Don't focus on them! If you notice Jake will, they need this moment.
I turned my attention back to Timothy and Jason and saw Timothy had a look of disgust written all over his face. Jason was on his knees in front of him, his crystal blue eyes filled with unshed tears. "Timothy-" he said and his voice sounded choked. He cleared his throat, "Tim-Tam it's-" there was a crack throughout the room and Jake pursed his lips. It took me a moment to realize the crack was Timothy's hand across Jason's face. The look of rage reflected in his eyes caused a shiver to run down my spine.
He leaned in so he was inches from Jason's face. When he spoke, his voice was cold as ice, "don't you dare use that name. Only my brother knew it and was allowed to use it. If I meant anything to any of you," he said looking each boy in the eye, "you wouldn't have left me. He wouldn't have cut my fingers off!" His voice trembled and his body shook slightly but when Jake put a hand on his shoulder, again, he calmed.
Jake spoke now, his voice was the definition of calm, keeping the room at peace. "We're all friends here, right?" He said looking to us, I felt slightly ill but didn't speak.
He sighed as he looked to us, "as I said, eye for an eye. You killed my brother, I killed your speed. Simple as that," Stahsi and Dave both smiled and Dylan didn't move.
It was odd how alike and dislike the two were. "We're here for Timothy, nothing more- nothing less." Davi spoke now, he'd been quiet for most of the meeting but I could tell he'd been watching and taking everything in. Kai looked calmer and less pale, his breathing wasn't as erratic.
"So, that it?" Jake asked, and his smile was back. I turned and saw Mikey was pale. His skin was clammy and he was chewing his lip, man up, Mikey. This isn't pretend anymore, you're here you're in it. I opened my mouth to say as much but Jake spoke before I could.
"Seeing as how you're doing much better," he says looking directly at Kai, who smirks and tosses his dagger back. Jake catches it deftly in the air between two fingers and twirls it with a smile. "I suppose we should move this along, we're never going to see eye to eye." With that, he steps back and Dylan, Stahsi, and Dave step forward.
"You ready, Tim?" Dylan whispers quietly and I frown, he can't fight. None of us would fight him and he, he doesn't have his power.
Timothy surprised me, he smiled and held his hands out from him. It was the first time I really looked at them, he had black gloves on, specially made for him and his eight fingers.
On both hands, his middle finger was uncovered and I frowned in confusion. Slowly, he took each glove off, and when he smiled it was a maniacal smile. Something had definitely snapped within him. I swallowed now, feeling as fear swelled in me. The shadows gathered around Stahsi, and Dave cracked his fingers in front of himself.
He had two blades, one in each hand, they were clearly a set and only as big as his forearm. The blades themselves were black as night and the hilt was a deep blood red color.
Dylan sighed and pulled out two small hand daggers of his own and stood in a fighting stance.
"Wait," I said quietly searching desperately for something to argue with. Timothy surprised me by answering, his tone was low and he sounded almost sad but it didn't stop him. "Tsu, I'm asking- begging- you don't fight. They know," he said gesturing to his new comrades, "not to hit you. Let us finish this."
I felt as sadness and fear rose in me as I stared into his lost eyes pleading me not to fight. Not to defend those I cared about. "I- Timothy," I sighed and his eyes dropped. "He said you'd choose them, you're all I had left, you know? I'd hoped we could walk away but," he shrugged softly and I felt my heart break as he did.
"You have Misther, and Jason- you know Julia wouldn't let him die! She loves him, a-and you," my voice shakes at the end as I see Jason's head snap. It's obvious Timothy won't believe that this was his brother, but if I could get him to somehow believe that Jason wasn't gone, maybe I could end all of this. He sighed and frowned deeper, "Jason's gone Tsu. You're playing me, and I don't know why Misther is-"
He paused searching for the words, "he's a doll," he spat the word and I couldn't help but choke. "I carried him around for years. Thinking I needed him." He scoffs, "I didn't, I never did. My power is here, it's in me. I hid it for years, Misther got the residual energy- that's it." My eyes widened as I took in what he was saying and instantly I looked down to his hands.
He smiled softly, "yea, I've got it back and I can control it, guess I'm not useless after all, huh?" Kai growled and Davi tensed. That's when I heard a crackle in my ear. Brandons voice came over the small speaker and I forced myself not to jump or react.
"We're all clear here, Ash and Julia are in the car ready to go. We're on standby waiting for your command." Kai frowned and that's when I saw it, a shadow creeping closer and closer to him. It was slow, almost like a snake, slithering out away from the darkness shrouding Stahsi. I sucked in my breath just as Davi pointed a finger like a gun and shot a spark off.
It jumped from the tip of his finger all the way down to the shadow and surged for a moment. The second it hit the shadow, it was like it exploded. The shadow seemed to react and shiver, trying to shake the light away before retreating back to Stahsi.
She frowned but didn't otherwise react. Light is definitely her weakness, but what's his? I looked to the boy with the shaggy hair- Dave as Jake had called him- and saw him glaring at Davi.
They're going to be a problem, just then a wave of darkness and shadow reared up in front of us. Towering over us, "you came for fun, let's play a game!" Stahsi shrieked and in her voice I could hear just how mad she was.
The darkness swallowed us and wrapped around like a blanket. I felt as it went through my nose, mouth, and ears, it was like I'd ingested ice. Everything about it was cold and lonely. I could hear muffled sounds of the others around me. My limbs felt cold and numb, as though I couldn't move. My lungs filled with more and more darkness and I felt the burning ache in my chest that was screaming for oxygen.
I felt as the hairs on my arm stood on end and suddenly I heard a crackling sound followed by a scream. Just as quickly as the darkness wrapped around me it was gone, I fell to my knees and coughed as I gasped in air.
I felt something strike my mid-section and I gasped in pain, slowly I fell back and looked up to see Dylan. "Sorry, I don't want to fight but," he sighed and reared his leg back. My eyes widened as I realized he was going to kick me again, I threw my arms out quickly and blasted him with air. He flew back and hit the wall while Jake laughed and he grunted in pain.
"I think she can handle two at once, right Kai?" Jake said with a wink and suddenly he was in front of me. He laughed as he kicked me just as Dylan had and I grunted in pain as I felt the impact. Suddenly, there was someone beside him and as Jake's foot came in close I reached faster than I thought possible. I grabbed his leg and held it while sending a shock of lightning through him.
He screamed in pain and jumped back, breaking my grip. I growled as Dylan stepped in his place and blocked a punch with my right arm. He almost smiled as I did, "have practice with hand to hand?" He asked but I didn't answer, instead I turned my head to the side and spit the blood that pooled in my mouth.
I raised my fists and watched his movements, he was light footed and moved quickly and quietly. It was clear he was trained in everything fighting; street, formal, martial, anything, he knew. This is it. Fight and win, or lose and die.
He moved faster than I anticipated and suddenly I felt a skull splitting pain on the side of my face. I grunted and felt as my head snapped to the side, the world spun and dark spots danced in front of my eyes. Slowly, I shook my head and braced for another attack. Only, it didn't come. I tilted my head and saw him watching me with confusion in my eyes. "Ya know, Jake said you were tough. I didn't see it," I growled and found myself lunging towards him. My body was acting on its' own, clearly I was in fight or flight mode.
No longer did I accept defeat, no longer did I accept pain, I dealt pain now. No one would ever make me feel weak and useless again, I would never see myself broken like I had been. I refuse. My fists flew faster and faster now, he blocked every blow but it didn't stop me. I heard fighting around us but never looked up from him.
He blocked and parried each blow before dealing out his own punches. My body ached and I felt as one of my ribs cracked. I growled, "enough!"
I saw as his eyes widened and I threw my hands in front of me, from them, lightning burst from my fingertips. I felt the static course through my body and charge the small space.
"Tsu, stop!" Instantly, I dropped my hands at the words. I didn't understand why Kai would be mad, it was only Dylan after all. He was in the way to bringing Timothy home,
It doesn't make sense, why would he- oh god, what have I done!? My eyes filled with tears as I focused before me.
It wasn't Dylan who'd been hit, instead Timothy stood in front of him. Arms held out wide as if blocking Dylan from the blast, his eyes were squeezed shut and his breathing was erratic. "Timothy!" I screamed, Dylan's eyes were wide with shock. Just as I took a step forward, I felt something fly past me. There was a stinging in my left cheek and I brought my hand up to feel my cheek. When I pulled it away, there was blood on the fingertips. "What," I whispered. Slowly, I turned and saw a dagger sticking out of the wall beside me. I turned back to see Jake glaring at me.
"Enough," he said quietly. That one word was filled with anger, it dripped with barely contained rage. I swallowed once and that's when I saw it, he was holding something- no some one. My stomach clenched as I recognized the blond hair and pale skin. Though Mikey was taller than Jake, he wasn't nearly as good a fighter.
Jake had him in a death grip with his hand around the younger boys' throat, it was clear he was cutting off the air. Mikey's hands clawed at Jake but he just glared at me, "you alright, Timothy?" His eyes never left mine but his tone softened slightly and I could tell he was truly worried.
I budged, I couldn't help it, I turned and looked back to Timothy. I expected to find him burned but instead he looked completely untouched. He shrugged as though nothing happened, and I couldn't help but stare. There's no way. He shouldn't be ok, I blasted him as high as I could go. How- I didn't get a chance to ask.
I was interrupted by something crashing through the window.
There was a scream, just as a blast went off and a bright light filled the room, followed by someone screaming " Stahsi!" I rubbed my eyes but just as I was able to focus, there was a second blast through the window. This time, I covered my eyes so as not to be blinded, I heard a growl from Davi followed by cursing from Kai.
"What's going on!?" I yelled, finally opening my eyes, I saw the room had smoke streaming through the now broken, blown open windows. "Mikey, you son of a bitch! What did you do!?" I turned to see Mikey smirking as Kai held him by the throat and pinned him to the wall.
"Kai?" I questioned but slowly felt understanding. Jake scoffed as another flash bomb was thrown into the room, just as quickly as it was thrown, Dylan moved and threw it back out. He stood and waited for Jake's instruction and I felt confusion and denial in my mind.
"Kai!" I yelled as Mikey turned blue from lack of oxygen, "Kai, stop! You'll kill him!" I stepped forward and felt a hand on my shoulder, I turned and saw Davi but he wasn't looking at me. He was glaring towards Kai and Mikey, he leaned down never breaking his stare.
"That's the idea, love. He betrayed us," my mouth dropped open and I turned to see Jake nod to Dylan who nodded almost grudgingly. No no no no. Jerome was right! My mind screamed and I took deep shuddering breaths as Davi held me.
How, when, why? Why would he do this? We broke him out of jail? My stomach churned and I felt my body go cold as I stared at Mikey. Stahsi stood beside Dave but it seemed her weight leaned heavily on him. Timothy looked disgruntled but otherwise unharmed.
After a moment, Dylan gestured for them to follow him and the four set off out the door. Just then, the window blew through and shots went off. I screamed as I felt my arm pierced with a bullet, my hand instantly clamped around the wound.
Davi pulled me to the ground and laid across me, effectively acting as a shield for me. The room was filled with gun shots and yelling and I felt as my heart beat through my chest. "How bad is it?" He whispered in my ear, the room was filled with sounds around us but it was as though we were in our own world. "Just a flesh wound, I'll be fine."
I felt rather than saw his nod, there was screaming now and I turned my head to see two men in uniform. They looked just barely older than Davi and Kai, one had short buzzed brown hair, pale skin that held a tan. He was built well, muscular everywhere, and his arms were completely sleeved with tattoos. His face was stern and almost held a look of disappointment as he yelled orders at Jake. Maybe he thought the legendary Butcher would be harder to capture.
The other officer had short, sandy brown, hair and the same build as the first. He looked almost annoyed with the situation. They yelled orders at Jake and he smirked, putting his hands on the back of his head as he knelt to the ground. "This isn't right, it's too easy." Davi whispered to me and I frowned, he was right it's as though we didn't exist. Suddenly, Davi was yanked up and off of me.
I had enough time to suck in my breath before I, too, was yanked to my feet, handcuffs were placed on me and I felt instantly drained.
It was as though all energy in my body had been completely sucked out of me. "What," I said in quiet confusion. That's when I heard the yelling and the clicking of guns as they focused on something. "Let him go," said the brown haired boy. His voice was low and stern, and I could tell he'd done this before. I felt hands tighten around my wrists and I squirmed to get away.
The hands tightened and I grimaced at the pain, screw this. I'm not going without a fight, with that in mind, I quickly reached inside myself. Down to the depths of my soul and searched for that beautiful spot that connected me to all parts of the world. Where I could feel the spray of rain from a cool summer storm, I could hear the rustling of tree branches in fall as the wind shook the leaves from their limbs. Where I felt the absolute power and truly where I felt most alive as lightning streaks across the sky.
It was in the very being that was me, or at least, it had always been there. I felt as shock registered on my face and one of the police officers laughed at me. In that moment, I felt something snap. I wiped the shock from my face and returned to my blank state. My breathing came fast and I forced it to slow, you're no help to anyone- least of all yourself- like this.
Calm down. My inner voice had adapted a tone similar to what Doris sounded like. Davi was yelling and causing a scene but he wasn't making any headway. The room and hotel had clearly been stormed and overtaken by the police. I growled and bared my teeth like a wild animal at any officer that got too close. One in particular made me almost second guess, almost. He'd been an ally for as long as I could remember, never questioning when I showed up at his dinner table asking for food. Never commenting on the bruises that slipped past, only pursing his lips in frustration.
Always giving me the care and love I desperately needed. He was like a father figure to me. He was also Mikey's dad.
His eyes were filled with sadness as he looked at me with the same eyes that Mikey had. I felt the weight of them on me and felt as my mind and body wanted to flip. To show him I wasn't this scared trapped animal. But I couldn't. To show weakness now, would be devastating. I wasn't the same girl he'd known, the same lost, sad, and broken soul he'd pieced together over and over again over the years. His eyes flicked behind me and widened as he looked, I turned just in time to see Jake in hand cuffs being lead out of the room.
He smiled and winked at me before dropping his eyes and I felt a shiver run down my spine. This can't be it. This isn't how this ends. My mind was racing now and I felt as fear started coursing through me. Adrenaline was pumping through my veins now.
I bit my bottom lip in thought, Kai was on his knees between two officers. They'd not only gotten him handcuffed but they secured him with a straight jacket and had two police officers pointing guns at him. There was a collar around his neck similar to mine, it was sleek black and didn't seem to have any special adornments.
They wouldn't put it on for no reason, my mind was puzzling over this as I watched with dread as Kai dropped his eyes to the ground. His body language seemed completely pliant, he'd given up. The fight was gone. I was so focused on Kai and figuring out what these collars could do that I didn't even sense- let alone see- what Davi was about to do.
I heard a commotion beside me and had enough time to look up before I felt his body collide into mine and then we were falling. There was a quick flow of words coursing from his mouth but it came too fast, I couldn't focus.
We fell fast and hard to the ground, I heard as well as felt a snap in my right shoulder and instantly had tears in my eyes. I forced myself not to cry out, years of practice from my father.
"What the hell are you doing?" Mikey's dad asked as he hauled Davi to his feet. He looked like a crazy man who'd lost everything but that's just it. He looked crazy, his eyes though, they told a different story. They were direct and clear no question of a break in them.
I rolled my shoulder and grimaced as I forced the joint back into the socket. My breath hitched for a moment before I was able to fully roll my arm and that's when it hit me. The cuffs, they were off! Instantly, my hand went to my neck and I felt the sleek metal that was there from the collar. I felt my sense of joy deflate until my fingers slid on a rather large crack.
Hope blossomed in my chest just as I felt the magic of my power soar inside me. I felt arms on me and handcuffs were placed back on me, the collar was left alone. I turned to Davi and grimaced as I saw his now black eye and swollen lip. He smirked at me before dropping his eyes to the floor again in submission. The police officer before him smirked before punching him one last time in the gut. I felt my body shift towards him but instead felt a hand under my chin forcing my eyes up.
As I looked up I saw a pair of jade green orbs in front of me and felt my stomach drop out from under me. My heart skipped a beat and I felt almost sick. "Surprised, aren't you, Tsu? I knew you would be." His smile was sick, twisted almost, I couldn't even think I just stared as shock engulfed me. He couldn't, he wouldn't. He'd never betray me. As I looked and focused on his face though, I knew it wasn't true. He'd betray me in an instant to make himself look good. He's just as selfish as my sister.
Never once would he put his neck on the line, he only cared about himself. Disgust filled me and rolled off me in waves as I looked at my once friend dead in the eye.
"Mikey? "
