Tsu

He laughed fully now and I felt the anger build inside of me, but I didn't let it show. I kept my face blank, memories of my father kept coming to mind. He hated when I showed emotion, even if he was beating me for hours, I wasn't aloud to cry- in case anyone heard.
It was horrible, but it taught me how to keep my cool in a situation like this. "You never even saw it, did you? You truly did trust me, didn't you?" He had his hand on my jaw squeezing my face and forcing me to watch him. His fingers dug into my chin and I felt my anger burn. I wasn't scared I was furious. I will kill him. "Jerome didn't trust me, of course." He said almost disappointedly and dropped my chin, I grunted in pain but didn't respond. "That asshole watched me like a damn hawk, he put me on body duty." He shivered with disgust and I felt the officers hand tighten on my shoulder.
"Cleanup." He frowned and met my eyes again, "scuze me?" He said and I scoffed, "it's clean up idiot. Not body duty." He leaned back and chuckled before his hand snuck out quick as a whip and cracked across my cheek. "Don't correct me," he whispered in anger, I didn't respond, only listened and waited for my chance. I looked to Davi and saw him staring at me, his eye was still swollen and his face bruised. That's when it hit me, He's planning something. He hasn't healed yet!
He nodded, barely perceptible to anyone watching and that's when I felt Mikey's hand on my chin again. "You couldn't be any stupider, could you? Bringing me here, to meet this country's most wanted criminal. You had to of known that I wasn't completely with you. You're not that stupid, Tsu." I rolled my eyes and I saw him glare, his eyes flicked to his dad and he calmed down.
Aww how sweet, baby doesn't want daddy to see him hurt a girl. I felt the smile that played on my lips and saw the confusion in his eyes.
I let some of the cold disconnect I was feeling inside seep into my eyes now, as I spoke. "Mikey, you think you're this world class genius." I say lowly and watch as his anger builds. I lean back and look around us dramatically as though looking for something more amazing.
"You caught a handful of teenagers. That's it, you won't be seen as a war hero. You'll be seen as another cop. Crooked, and dirty, just like the rest. Hell- even your father-" I felt it. His hand cracked across the side of my face, my head snapped back and I heard Davi pulling at his officers.
I smiled and felt as everything within me lit up, "do not talk about my father like that."
His voice was filled with rage as he leaned in mere millimeters from my ear. I laughed and turned my head to see his dad staring at him with a look of almost sickness on his face. "Yea, he looks real proud, Mikey. Beating on girls now? Guess you did learn something from my old man."
"Mikey! Stop," his fathers voice was stern and I frowned in confusion. Slowly, his father walked toward and kneeled in front of me. His eyes were level with mine and in them, I saw sadness. He looked defeated almost, "Tsu, I'm sorry." His voice was filled with sadness as he looked me over. He reached his hand out and ran it down my cheek softly before smoothing my hair back.
I pulled away from him now feeling as though he had slapped me. "You were always a daughter to me. I loved you and protected you as my own. How did we-" I laughed now, no longer able to hold it in, "do not say 'how did we get to this' we all know how."
His face fell and I saw sadness there and regret, "Tsu-" I looked him up and down, disgusted at what I saw. He was a man who tried his best, but couldn't admit his 'best' wasn't enough.
"You 'protected me' please, you saw the bruises on me, the marks. You saw my tears and heard my screams in the beginning. Did you ever once try and bring my father in?" I stared at him waiting for an answer.
Slowly, he shook his head and I scoffed, "course not. Why?" He opened his mouth and I laughed. It wasn't a normal laugh, it was deranged, unhinged sounding, even to my own ears. Something in me snapped, I couldn't take it anymore. I was tired of the lies.
"Because I'm not your kid! Simple as that. You knew Mikey has a Power, you knew what my father did. You turned a blind eye to my pain to protect him," my voice cracked slightly and I sniffed once. I had to compose myself before it was too late.
"Your guilt wouldn't let you ignore everything though, that's why you let me stay. Why you bandaged my wounds, and offered me a bed to sleep. You didn't care about me, just your stupid pride." Mikey scoffed and I glared at him, before making a quick decision.
He was still up in my bubble, I could feel his breath on my cheek. Quicker than he could react, I leaned my head back and brought it forward quickly, successfully head butting him. Davi made a quiet, "oooh," from behind me and Mikey cursed loudly clutching his face.
I groaned softly and closed my eyes grimacing at the throbbing now present in my skull but feeling a sense of euphoria. "I hope you regret it, you could've sold him." I gesture towards Mikey as I speak to his father, his eyes are wide as he looks at me again. As though seeing me for the first time. "He's been nothing but useless, he's a rat and will turn on you, just wait. The minute someone offers him something better, he'll turn."
Mikey came forward now, apparently having had enough and wanting to shut me up. His fist raised and I smiled sadistically up at him, and that's when I saw Kai look up out of the corner of my eyes. He was behind the two men in front of me and he held my eye. Davi yelled, "now Tsu!" Mikey's eyes widened as I smiled like a crazy person. "Wrong move, asshole." I felt the thunder as it rumbled through the room, it was so loud it sounded like it'd break the building. Mikey's eyes widened, and his face paled. "N-no way, you have a collar-" I smiled even wider, if possible, and felt my lip crack and blood trickled down my chin. That's when the rain started.
"A collar won't stop me, Mikey. If you'd paid any attention during this time with us, you'd know that. I'd find cover now though, if I were you." I winked just as I heard the crackling, the officers holding me loosened their grip and all hell broke loose.
I elbowed the officer to my left in the gut and pounced on Mikey, I felt as my fist flew into his face crushing his already damaged nose.
He screamed in pain as the room around us lit up with crackling light flying from Davi. Mikey flipped me up and off and grabbed his father yanking him out the window. I ran to Kai who sat still, "come on Kai! Up, we gotta get up." His eyes were downcast and his head hung low. Davi came beside me now and slung one of Kai's arms over his shoulders helping him stand.
"Leave it, I'll help you get us out of here." I nodded and as I turned I saw the fried bodies of the officers that had stood sentient over us.
"How bout the window?" He asks glancing where Mikey and his father had just gone through. I grimaced at the thought, "I- I don't think I can hold us. That collar-" he sighs, "don't worry. Let's go." I nod and take one last look at the bodies, I hadn't exactly wanted them dead, but I'd kill anyone to keep mine safe.
I lead the three of us out of the room and back down the hall. There were bodies here and there, clearly Jake's horsemen had come this way. "Shit," I say stopping dead in my tracks. Davi stops short nearly slamming into me and I hear him growl, "what could possibly be even more wrong than everything that's happened?" I grimace, "sorry- we forgot about The Butcher- Jake." I corrected myself quickly, I refused to call him by his stage name.
I wiped my chin of the blood that had trickled down and growled back at Davi. "Mikey's bitch ass took him, we'll find him, move!" He said and I felt as his hand shoved me. I took off like a shot, we ran down the halls using the stairwells. Just as I opened the door I fell back shoving against the two of them, "what?" Davi asked. I felt my breathing coming hard, "gun, bullet, bang-" I say breathless and I see as a smile plays on his lips.
As I look him over, I realize, "you healed." My hand reaches out and strokes the side of his face and I run it down feeling the stubble on his cheeks. He smiled broader now and I can feel the love in it, so much for not actually caring, huh?
"You weren't lying to me, were you?" The question came out before I could stop it and he sighed, "baby, I don't think this is the time, or place-" he stopped and I felt his eyes searching mine.
"You're so cold now," he whispered and I dropped my gaze, "don't hide. You're perfect. This started as a lie, a way to get to you and the information you held."
My breathing hitched, and he touched my cheek rubbing his fingers down so they trailed and tickled under my chin like a cat. "You can't fake some things though," his voice was low and I strained to hear it. He swallowed and his hand fell, he met my gaze again and in it I saw utter and complete trust, and sometbing else.
Something that looked like- love. My cheeks reddened and he smiled, "we're counting on you." He leaned forward and kissed my cheek now and I nodded, reigning in my wayward emotions. "Kai can't move," I swallow and look to Kai who's eyes are closed and looks almost like he's sleeping. Davi looks to him and sighs, "you know how his power works. It's pure calm, the opposite of energy. He can't drink energy drinks or anything it'll cancel his power."
"No one knew that but us, apparently Mikey figured it out."
At my look of confusion he sighed, "basically too much energy dulls his calming ability. They cancel each other out. So they effectively knocked him on his ass right now, he's our peace card, we don't have him. It's time for violence, I know there's something dark hiding under your surface." I gasped softly and he smirked, " 's why I love you. Now, get us out of here." I nod and turn back to the door. I see four officers coming toward us, guns drawn. Forcing myself to remain calm, I take a deep breath and feel as fog starts flowing out around us. The coolness of it brushing against my suit, causing goosebumps to form on my body.
Davi pulls Kai back a little, out of the line of sight from the door and I open it slowly. Instantly, a bullet whizzes past my head and I feel the small breeze it brings. That was close, the fog thickens and I can't see Davi or Kai anymore, if I can't see, neither can they.
Only difference is, this is my fog. No one can control it like I can. Slowly, I moved from the doorway. I heard them calling out to each other and couldn't help but smirk. Much as Stahsi moved in shadows I moved within the fog. I used small air currents to keep me just above the ground so as not to make a sound and not stir up the fog. The climb up was incredibly slow, but eventually I was above them. Looking down, I could see the fog only encased the entryway it didn't extend past it at all.
I couldn't help the smirk that played on my lips for a moment but it passed quickly. Focus on the job at hand, my mind chided. I raised my hands to rain down lightning and end this when suddenly I heard a groan of pain and what almost sounded like a small implosion.
It was a wet sound, as I focused I saw a reddish haze to the fog and mist, what the, slowly I let the fog fall and was shocked to see, "Timothy?"
His eyes are unfocused and I see only one cop when I know there had been four. The officer was young, that much I could tell, his hand shook as he held his gun aiming it at Timothy. I watched in shock as Timothy raised his hand just as the officer went to pull the trigger.
I couldn't help the scream that tore from my throat, I raised my hand faster than I knew possible, I felt as the lightning danced in my hand. Slowly, I saw the kid look up to see who's screamed and that was it. That was all Timothy needed, as soon as his vision left him, Timothy lunged forward.
It was then I noticed those gloves he'd worn before were gone, his hands were bare. Confusion rose up in me as I watched in horror as Timothy placed his hand on this officers chest. It was a quick motion but I felt as time slowed.
His hand pulled back and suddenly the officer was gone. It was as though he just combusted. One minute he was here, and the next, gone. Timothy bobbled slightly but stood firm, my mouth dropped open and slowly I landed in front of him. He smiled softly at me as if in apology but didn't get to say anything.
I heard footsteps behind me and turned to see Kai being drug by Davi, "good job- let's go."
He grabbed my hand and I grabbed Timothy's, I didn't want to take a chance of losing him. We ran from the main floor out to the streets. Waiting for us was a wall of blue. I skidded to a halt and yanked the boys back in, "you've got to be kidding me! How many are there!? And where's Brandon and Bri?" I raked my hand through my hair in annoyance and growled.
Davi sighed, and Timothy spoke up, "get to the roof."
We turned to him in unison and he shrugged, "if the three of them went out the door already, then the cops will be focused on the ground. But the roof-" he stopped and looked up as though he could see through the levels of building. I sighed feeling dejected, my body was covered in cuts and burns, my head throbbed from the horrible head butt I'd delivered to Mikey, and I felt an all over sense of lethargy creeping up.
Those cuffs did a number, and they'd only been on for a mere second. My whole body ached from the overexertion of today and to top it off, I was going to have to go back up like six flights of stairs.
I grimaced at just the thought, as I opened my mouth to ask if he was sure, I heard what sounded like tires squealing.
I looked to Davi and saw he too looked lost, Timothy smirked, "I think our rides here. Tsu, you first. Take Kai and go- don't even wait for a car, just fly him out meet us when it's safe. Davi- you and me will-" before he could finish, though, the building shook. "Damn- never mind. Move!" He took off like a shot and there was no time to hesitate or question his sudden leap into the roll of leader. Somethings not right, why is Timothy suddenly helping us? He was ready to fight us moments ago- now he's...... helping us?
I chewed my lip and almost voiced my thoughts when Davi grunted and heaved Kai up, "Tsu, little help here, babe?" I nodded and focused my energy on Kai, controlling the air currents around him to carry him. The relief in Davi's eyes was instantaneous and he stepped quickly in front of Kai and myself.
"Stick close to me, got it?" I nod and open my mouth to ask about Timothy but don't get the chance, because like that, we're off. The front doors of the hotel are no longer there, instead there's now a hole in the wall where they'd been. The minute we stepped foot outside it was like we were transported to a war zone.
Bodies laid on the floor dead or dying, blood sprayed everywhere, gunshots could be heard as well as screaming. Yells of orders were heard throughout the melee as well. I watched as Davi spread his hands out before him and instantly the area around us became electric. The hairs on my arms stood on end and I felt the static around me.
There were more sounds of screaming and then silence. Davi fell to his knees before me, and instantly I had him with Kai focusing on both of them as well as looking for threats. Suddenly, I felt as something hit me square in the chest. I felt as tears sprang to my eyes and fear rolled into my mind.
I forced it down and felt anger boil in my veins, staving off the fear. My breath hitched and Davi and Kai suddenly felt heavier than ever before. I felt as pain exploded through my breast and I felt as my suit got stickier with my blood. This isn't good. One by one, cops started forming a perimeter around us again. Davi had overexerted himself and was out, his body was healing just not fast enough, Kai was still useless from the collar they'd given him, and Timothy- I'd lost him as soon as we'd come out. I bit my lip thinking. They were closing in more now, they had guns in hand and it was clear I was to be apprehended alive or dead. So long as they had the body, who cares?
I'm not going without a fight. I laid Davi and Kai down behind me and stood my ground, one officer laughed. That's all it took, I felt the temperature drop around us and the air charge with electricity. Thunder rumbled and lightning struck down around us.
A few of their faces showed shock and even fear but others were angry and disgusted. I felt every ounce of anger I'd ever felt suddenly spike inside me, I was overwhelmed and overcome with anger. The wind started to grow exponentially around us,whipping our hair and clothes around us. I didn't give them a chance to think, one second I was there. The next, I was gone. Racing toward them and their guns, the air around me forming like a shield keeping shots off of me.
I thrust my arms out in front of me and watched as the wind flew from me to them in a wave effectively knocking them off their feet. Some unlucky souls were carried up and off to who knows where.
Lightning shot down in bolts to the ground striking officers where they stood. The scent of burnt flesh hung in the air, I grimaced and felt my knees get shaky.
Black spots formed in my vision, and my chest burned. I felt my breathing get heavier but forced myself to stay up. That's when I heard it, a loud popping sound. I turned to my right just as the officers closest to me dropped to the ground dead. Their heads were blown clean off and blood flowed around them.
I grimaced and looked away trying to find Timothy, Davi and Kai were safe. But Timothy I still hadn't seen him. "Jesus, Tsu, where are your people?" I felt a hand around my waist just as my knees finally gave out. I grunted and felt as I was being laid back. Timothy leaned over me, his face pale and eyes serious, I swallowed and smiled up at him. "You're ok?" I put my hand up on his face and he smiled softly, "hey- hey I'm here. It's ok. Where's Julia? Or- or," his face crumpled as he thought who to ask for. I smiled but felt something wet in my throat and coughed.
He helped me sit up so I could cough and as I did, it came up red. His face paled even more and he turned to look around us, "those two are out?" He asked incredulously, before turning back to me. "Ok, Julia- where's she?" I shake my head slowly, "she's, in the van. Ash is dead. Jason- he took them," I took a breath and felt the same liquid in my throat but forced myself not to cough.
"Timothy," I say grabbing his attention and making him focus. As he does, I grab his shirt, holding him- forcing him- to look at me. "It is Jason." His eyes widened and he shook his head, "I know he's different, but he did everything to get to you, ok? Don't push him away," the black dots were getting more dense and I felt myself slipping. It was as though I was going to sleep, it was so calm. There was no pain.
"Hey, hey, no. T- tell me more about Jason. Where is he? Huh? Tsu!" His voice was getting further away from me now. "Damn it, Tsu, this is gonna hurt-" that's when I felt an excruciating pressure and burning in my chest.
I cried out and sucked in my breath, "what did you do!?" He laughed, but it was a panicked laugh, "we're closer than ever before. My fingers are in here stopping the bleeding, ok? Accept it, only a true friend would stick their fingers in the hole in your chest, no hesitation." I laughed but it ended in a cough again.
A car pulled up beside us and the door flew open, "Jesus, what happened?" The voices sounded far away now, the ache in my chest was dull and I felt as though I was floating. My eyes fluttered closed, "Kai and Davi are back there- damn it." I felt the same burning ache again and cried out, my eyes flew open and I was overwhelmed with the harsh brightness around me.
"Jay- Jay where's Julia she's-" he stopped and looked back at me before whispering over me, "she's not gonna make it."
I smiled and put my hand to his face, "Timothy, it's ok. I wanted you safe, you are now." He looked behind me again and tears were in his eyes now, his face pale and he looked scared. "Hey," I said and my voice came out barely a whisper. He turned back to me now and I saw the fear in his eyes, but I also saw a deeper emotion. Acceptance.
He stopped fidgeting and focused wholly on me, his face softened and I heard a choked sound behind me. Suddenly, a second face was beside his leaning over me.
I smiled, "you two- stick together." My breath came in a shaky gasp, "Kai and Davi are going to need you. Be the glue that I can't be. Please," my vision was going dark now and I felt as I slipped away from them. My eyes fluttered closed, just before they did, though, I saw Timothy's mouth move in answer but heard nothing. And then- nothing. It was all silent.
