Pleased by what he saw, Maxmillius stood up and walked over to me, offering his hand to me. I knew the face of absolute confusement was plastered on my face because this had never happened...even with her ladyship.

As he waited their patiently for me to take his hand, I stood back up to my full height and grasped his hand gently and very hesitantly. I didn't want to make a mistake with this man for his kindness could easily disappear as it had came.

His smiled would have swooned any girl off her feet, but I had to be professional now that I was working for him. He looked to the guards and nodded his head. The head guard shifted a bit on his feet and digged into his pocket and pulled out a set of keys. He then walked over to me and uncuffed the chains that dangled about me. I wanted to rub my wrists but with one hand in the prince's i dared not.

"Thank you, back to work now."

They saluted and marched back down the main hall that lead to the throne room. The other princes and princess watched me and Maxmillius walk through another door, but I felt one of them starring a hole into the back of my head and it made me gulp in anxiety.

"So, Kaiya Dedree, tell me about yourself. After all, you will be around all of us quite often." Maxmillius sayed swiftly, cutting through the silence and breaking the ice.

"O-Oh um...w-well, there isn't much to tell really..." I looked away from him, my other hand rubbing the back of my neck.

"Oh? Well, do you have a favorite food? One that you can cook up for us?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Um..nothing your highness would like.." I mumbled softly, feeling uncomfortable having a conversation with him.

Why was he treating me with civility?..This wasn't the prince I had just made a bargain with a few minutes ago?

"Hm..do you have a favorite anything?" He stopped and looked me in the eyes.

His eyes were a piercing green with blonde hair accompanying his dashing face. He certainly was a prince from fairy tale, that much was for sure. He wore a white tunic laced up to the second knot and was tucked into a pair of nicely made black slacks. He had normal black leather dress shoes that were not scuffed like his brother's.

"I..don't understand what you are asking my lord?" I tilted my head to the side, confused by his questions.

Slaves and servants don't have "favorites". We have jobs and duties that get filled out. We eat regular bread and wine like every other commoner. This was common known facts?

Maxmillius seemed taken aback by my response and took both of my hands in his large ones.

"Kaiya, have you not experienced life?" He asked me seriously, but I couldn't help but laugh in his face, quickly pulling one hand back, cupping my mouth.

I quickly cleared my throat and looked him in the eyes.

"Sir, no disrespect, but you questions are silly. I was raised as a servant and never had time for fun and games. I am here to serve you, not to have fun..." I looked down the hall and motioned for him to lead the way, "Now please, show me to the cleaning supplies so I may begin my work."

Maxmillius was at a loss for words before regaining his composure and shaking his head and pinching his nose in exasperation.

"My dear, I have to show you to your room so you can..um..change. Those clothes will simply not due if you are going to work for us. And further on that note, I have to show you around the castle so you can get an idea of the lay out here." He put his hands behind his back and continued walking, talking about the castle and some of the things I would be doing here.
