We stay there for a few more minutes talking for a little while, before Dream receives a text.

"It's Nick. He says to meet him at the beach in an hour. But Karl can't make it tonight".

"Oh ok alright". I respond, a bit disappointed.

The atmosphere is really peaceful, and the conversations flow very easily. We have so much in common, and we like the exact same things. We stay there for a little while before having to head back. It is a 35 minute drive, so we can't waste any more time.

The ride back is quiet as music slowly plays in the background. We were about to enter the main city when the car gets stuck in some traffic. It is really annoying, even though we can't do anything about it. Dream looks so pissed, and I can't help but laugh at him. On top of that, I have to stop at my apartment to grab my swimsuit. We finally make it to the beach, nearly 20 minutes late.

"There are the two lovebird, god damn" Nick says, looking pissed as well.

"NICK, stop" Dream responds looking at Nick with big eyes.

"Sorry, but where the heck were you, and why are you guys so late" Nick says with a smirk.

I am about to answer when Dream cuts me off quickly.

"Nowhere, now let's go"

He seems a bit stressed and uncomfortable. Nick and I make eye contact, and I raise my shoulder to tell him I'm not going to tell him either. He probably never told his best friend about this place. Maybe he wants to keep it for himself, and I understand.

We take Dream's car and all hop in. I sit in the back wanting to let the two other boys next to each other. We finally arrive at a drive thru, and we all order our food.

"Let's eat it at the beach not in the car" Dream says before putting his food on the floor.

I do the same. We are back at the beach, eating on a picnic table. Nick talks about various things. The two boys mostly talk together, and I just listen. It doesn't bother me, I think they have very interesting conversations.

They have such a brotherly friendship. Dream doesn't really act like that around me. He is more gentle and definitely way more caring. It is not a bad thing, and I like to see him this happy.

I lose myself in my thoughts once again, and they seem to notice.

"Hey George, you good?" Nick asks, going to throw away the trash from our food.

"Yeah sorry I'm a bit tired" I respond.

Dream looks at me with a small smile, before placing a comforting hand in the middle of my back. We make eye contact for a while, before we get up to go surfing.

"You ready for your second lesson, George?" Dream asks, already in the water.

"I was born ready" I respond.

I get in the water, before grabbing the surf. I do like Dream taught me the other day. It seems less hard than before, but I still suck. Dream and Nick laughs at me every time I fail, swimming to come and get me.

"Not like that, you need to get up quick" he says still laughing.

We continue to practice for about 30 minutes, before I get really tired.

"I think I might stop, I'm actually exhausted".

"I'll continue for a little bit, ok?" he asks, looking at me getting out of the water.

"Yeah, no problem"

I get completely out of the water, walking towards where we left our clothes and towels, before wrapping it around my body, trying to dry my hair. I stay there for a few minutes, watching the two men surfing. They are always competing against each other, trying to prove who is better. I laugh at how competitive they are.

After a while, Nick gets out of the water and walks up to me. He wraps his towel around him, before sitting next to me.

"Hey, you're getting pretty good at it" he says.

I look at him for a few seconds, before looking back at the other man surfing.

"Thanks"

At the moment, the souvenir of today on the beach comes back to my head. I can't help but see Dream's reaction again and again in my head. It terrifies me in some way. He told me not to worry, but it makes me even more scared. I look back at Nick. I mean, if there is somebody that knows Dream, he is the right person.

"Hey um... I um" I start before shutting my mouth.

"Yeah, is everything ok?" he asks, concerned.

I take a deep breath to wash my nervousness away.

"Well um today at the beach, Dream and I were fighting, like fake fighting, and when I got close to him, he flinched a lot and looked totally terrified. He said multiple times not to worry about him, but I mean... I'm just a bit concerned I guess".

The smile on Nick's lips completely fades away. He doesn't say anything, but instead he looks back at the sea. Dream is still surfing. He is just catching a wave, moving his surf on top of it. He clears his throat.

"Yeah um don't worry about it" he responds finally.

"I'm still worried" I reply, immediately.

He looks down then back to Dream again.

"I'll talk to him if that makes you feel better" he says.

"Thanks" I respond, a bit relieved.

I probably don't have enough courage to address it to Dream directly, but I know that at least, I did something. We stay silent for a little while, enjoying the warm air.

"It's sad that Karl couldn't make it" I comment.

"Yes, I already miss him" he says smiling the heck out of his face.

He chuckles a little looking at his hands

"You're so in love dude" I respond laughing

We both laugh for a long time. Nick tells me a lot about Karl and how they met and everything. He is so passionate about him, it makes me wish I was in love too.

"But you" Nick continued "You don't have anybody?"

"Um no, I never really did. Like serious I mean".

"Oh. Um it might be too personal but are you into girls or boys" he asks nicely.

I find myself wondering. I never really thought of it to be honest. There were never really people interested in me anyways. I never imagined myself living with anybody. Now that I think of it, I am even more confused. I take a couple of seconds to think about it.

"I don't know to be honest. I never really thought of that, but I guess I just want to see how things go" I respond in honesty.

"Hey, don't worry, I feel you. It takes time to figure out feelings" he adds.

Nick smiles at me reassuringly as Dream is making his way towards us.

"We should go, it's getting late" he says, grabbing his stuff and leading me toward his car.
