(The scene opens to Peter gearing up in a locker room. As he walks out of the locker room, we cut to her sparring with Carmen Winchester and back again. Eventually, the fight scene includes the other members of Team CRDL.)
(While he is still exiting toward the arena, the scene cuts to his spar with Team CRDL.)
(Glen approaches from behind Carmen who clutches her ribs.)
Glen: And that's the match.
Carmen: Lucky shot.
(Carmen collapses.)
Glen: Well done, Mr. Nikos. You should have no problem qualifying for the tournament.
Peter: Thank you, professor.
Glen: Alright, now I know that's a tough act to follow, but we have time for one more sparring match. Any volunteers? Mr. Belladonna? You've been rather docile for the past few classes. Why don't you -
(Maria raises her hand.)
Maria: I'll do it.
Glen: Maria, is it? Very well, let's find you an opponent.
Maria: Actually, I wanna fight... him.
(Maria points to Peter.)
Peter: Me?
Glen: I'm afraid Mr. Nikos has just finished the match. I recommend you choose another partner.
Peter: No, it's fine! I'd be happy to oblige.
(Maria struts into the arena, visibly sizing up Peter. Their spar begins when he makes the first attack and is knocked down. Recovering quickly, she deflects an attack and begins trading blows with Peter until he knocks her back with his shield.)
(Randy Rose turns toward Emmet sitting behind him.)
Randy: Hey, your friend's doing pretty good.
(Emmet gives a fake smile and then rolls his eyes as Randy turns his back.)
(Maria unleashes a series of powerful strikes. Peter allows her kick to slam against his forearm before Maria manages to disarm him, a kick impaling his blade into the ground. Peter uses his Semblance to redirect the direction of Maria next kick. As he charges her with his shield, she shoots off of it and turns her back to him. Peter tries to rush her again.)
Maria: I forfeit.
(Peter almost stumbles as he stops beside her.)
Peter: You... don't even want to try?
Maria: What's the point? You're a world-renowned fighter. We're obviously leagues apart.
Glen: In that case... Peter Nikos is the victor of the match... again.
(Emmet smirks. Maria sneers smugly. Peter has a annoyed and disappointed look on his face, and places his left hand on his hip. The Aura displays for Peter and Maria are shown as Maria's is changed from green to red indicating her loss.)
Glen: Next time, you may want to think a little harder before choosing an opponent.
Maria: I'll be sure to do that.
(An alarm sounds which jolts Blane who has nodded off.)
Glen: That is all for today. And remember, the dance is this weekend. But you all have your first mission on Monday. I will not accept any excuses.
(As everyone leaves, Mercury stops beside Emmet .)
Maria: Learning is so much fun.
(Outside, SSSN are standing at the entrance as Team RWBY walks past. Sunny notices Blane and runs after him.)
