Part 4- The Offer

My eyes open as as the bright light of the room consumes my vision temporarily blinding me. Slowly but surely my vision returns, I survey my surroundings to see

"the league of villains" I think aloud "That's us!" The blonde girl cheers sweetly 'she's cute' 'but a villain' I mentally scold myself "Welcome back to consciousness, Todoroki Shoto" I focus my attention on the speaker "Shigaraki Tomura" I say emotionlessly "tell me, what do you think of society?" He asks. "To tell the truth It's pretty messed up, but that doesn't mean people don't deserve saving" I answer. Shigaraki sighs "in this society there exists a system, in this system modern day heroes only care about money and glory... and not just the heroes, citizens buy into these idiotic rules as well. That belief causes them blame the ones at the bottom, the "losers" rather than encouraging them. We've all seen the videos of police beating and killing minorities in the street, and for the most part, they get away with it. Corrupt businessmen climb their way to the top by stepping on the common peoples throats. Some doctors will judge the priority of a patient based off the color of their skin. So called "heroes" will marry not out of love, but out of selfish greed and lust for power, they marry for one purpose, to create children with more powerful quirks than their own so that they can live through their child. You yourself are the result of one of these "quirk marriages" are you not? Your father treated you like you weren't even human, abused you to make you stronger so that you could fulfill his goal of surpassing all might correct?" "How did you know that?" I ask, hoping to get a clue about my theory on Dabi. "Police reports from your neighbors that heard your parents arguing, heard your cries as he beat you. Plus several suspicious visits to the hospital, and on top of that the location your mother currently resides" he answers 'damn, not the answer I was hoping for but at least now I know they did their homework on me, which means I wasn't taken as a last minute thing' I think as he continues."Anyway as I was saying, what even is a hero? What is justice? Is this society truly just? You see, we plan on saving people from this society that keeps them chained. You like saving people too, right?" I open my mouth to respond but no words come out. "Dabi, let him go" he tells his comrade "huh? You know he'll just fight" Dabi responds "it's fine, we're recruiting him so we should treat him as an equal" Shigaraki says. "Hey Twice, you do it" Dabi orders "sure thing, no way" Twice answers "do it" he reaffirms "aw man" Twice says as he walks up and removes my restrains "thanks" I tell him, gaining the surprise of everyone in the room. All except for one, Shigaraki Tomura "see Dabi, this is why you should trust my judgement a little more" he says "shut up Shigaraki" he shoots back "so essentially, I'm being offered a job" I say, standing up "pretty much" Dabi tells me "we don't want you to answer just yet, we'll give you some time to think it over. My phone number will be put into your Phone, If you end up deciding to accept, text the number, which will be saved as "Important Job Offer" unless you change it. You must give us and answer by the 25th. if we do not receive an answer by this date we will assume your have refused our offer, and we will treat you like an enemy from that point on" he says. But before I can say anything in response, Twice chops me in the neck again, knocking me out.

Three days later

I wake up and check my phone, it reads 5: 30 am, Monday, may 13th. "Good, even though I'm under house arrest or school arrest I guess, since I was taken I have enough time to sneak out and get back in time for class" I start to walk to the exit when I feel someone staring at me, I turn around too see- 'shit, mr.Aizawa' "what's this?, sneaking out isn't your type of thing Todoroki" He asks "I mean no disrespect sir, but the better question is why the hell are you awake so early, and why are you sitting in the hall?" I ask confused "during your time at this school you've become like a son to me Todoroki, and because of your recent  kidnapping at the hands of villains, I've been worried. So I stayed in the hall to make sure no one came after you again" his words felt like somebody shot me in the heart with a shotgun at point-blank range, since recently I've actually been considering the offer Shigaraki gave me "I was just gonna go grab some food since I've been stressed lately with the whole kidnapping thing" I respond, truthfully it's because rumors of a possible traitor have been going around lately and I'm worried they'll figure out I was offered a spot in the league, after all I did leave the details of my "escape" from the L.O.V pretty vague. "Oh" he says, easing up a bit "I'm grateful for your concern though...dad" I say, he was surprised but smiled at the use of the word dad. "Ok Todoroki, I'll grant you a pass to leave for a little while, just be back in time for class ok?" Aizawa sensei tells me "thank you, sir" I respond. My phone pings and I check to see what it was, a text from "Important Job Offer" it reads "don't forget, clocks ticking" I don't know why but, I text back "don't worry, I haven't"
