Chapter 4

Tomorrow is the big day and between Echo and Hope there is a fairly high tension. Gabriel decides to created something to get drunk by making the two girls and himself relax. (don't worry, this time he won't interrupt them.)

While their friend Gabriel was so excited to be able to get to Bardo to save Hope's family, she and the grounder were not giving out any emotion. Though Echo wanted to get back to normal, she can't forget what she was doing with the younger girl in that room. The room they've been sharing for months. It's not even been 5 years, but it's like Echo and Hope have known each other their whole life. Hope never expected to fall in love with the grounder so quickly. It's absurd, Echo is the villain who haunts Hope's dreams, Aunty O told her she was an evil person. She had thrown Octavia off a cliff.

But in that moment, she realized that Echo wasn't evil. No, the grounder was so sweet and kind. Every time she spoke to Hope, her cheeks would turn red as if she were embarrassed. Echo also has feelings for the younger girl. When Hope kissed her, she had never felt so good. Butterflies flew into her stomach, wishing never to stop kissing the girl's soft, and sweet lips.

Having too many thoughts on her mind, Hope apologized and decided to go outside the cabin to get some fresh air, causing Gabriel and the grounder to worry. "should we follow her?" Gabriel asked, but Echo says no. "I think she has to be alone for a while, and so I do too."

Then the grounder took refuge in the room and closed the door. The door she built with Hope. She remembered when they built the door and how a splinter got inside the younger girl's finger, the grounder was so kind to remove the splinter. She then kissed Hope's finger and that made Hope laugh. The younger girl's laugh was like a melody for Echo. She wanted to hear it forever. Gabriel was confused by the two girls' behavior, and wondered if he had interrupted anything in that room. So he came up with an idea, he will create something to be drunk.

Hope was sitting outside the cabin on the landing, tears threatening to come out of her pretty eyes. How can she save her family if she's having feelings for the girl who nearly killed her aunt?
Suddenly she got up and ran towards the forest, going to the beach. That place it always relaxed the younger girl, it made her distract. She sat on the small pebbles and listened to the sound of the sea, looking at the green light under the sea. She took a small stone and threw it towards the sea. "Mom, Aunty O, I'll save you. I promise."

Tears were now streaming down Hope's cheeks, and she looked up at the sky with a sigh. "I'm sorry, I fell in love with the grounder. The grounder who nearly killed you, Aunty O. I don't know why, but I feel she's special." She then put her knees close to her chest and cried.

At the hut, there was an alcohol-like smell. Gabriel wanted to relax the two girls with some alcohol before leaving for tomorrow. Echo walked out of the room she shared with Hope with red eyes. Not wanting to prove weak in front of her friend, she soon wiped her tears away with her palms. She looked around the cabin and tried to look out. The younger girl wasn't here. "where is Hope?"

"she probably went to the forest. Don't worry, I'm sure she will be back."

The grounder nodded, approaching Gabriel and seeing what he was doing. Gabriel noticing her friend confused and disgusted by the bad smell, and he began to laugh. "I'm trying to create alcohol."

"if you call that alcohol I don't want to drink it." Echo said starting to laugh. Gabriel laughed with her and put the alcohol in two bottles. He gave it to her friend and waited for her to drink it to know if it's is good. The grounder sighed and put her lips to her bottle, starting to drink. She made a confused face and swallowed hard the liquid that trickled down her throat. The grounder licked her lips and laughed. "well, it's not bad. It's good." Gabriel smiled at Echo's words and drinks some alcohol too.
