Around 8:30 pm, I received a notification on my mobile, 'Shivam added you in a group, 'Friends Forever.' Likewise, every time, I neglected it and focused on my favourite TV show, TMKOC. The group notifications were beeping continuously; those three morons were chatting on the group, which I found irritating. I silenced that group and kept my phone away, and enjoyed the TV show. I slept early that night... The next day, we had an oral exam of 'Environmental Science'. Shivam came home in the morning, and we went to college as usual...
The exam went quite well. Twinkle, Pooja, Shivam and I met after the exam on the campus. As I had agreed, I stood with them and listened to their nonsense talks for no reason faking a sweet smile to them. "So, Sid! How was your oral exam?" Twinkle asked. "It was good," I replied. She kept asking me silly questions, and I kept responding to her without showing any interest. After some minutes, Kunal (Pooja's crush) passed by, where we were standing talking with each other. Pooja almost went mad after seeing that guy. I knew that she wanted to speak to him so badly, but unfortunately, he didn't even bother to look at her...
"Sid! We have added you to our WhatsApp group, we always have fun chatting with each other on that. We almost share everything there. I hope you'll also be a part of our discussion from now." Said Twinkle, and Pooja nodded along with her like an assistant news reporter. "Okay, that's good. I will try to be a part of that." I replied.
"Guys, why don't we go to the canteen and have a cup of coffee together?" Shivam suggested. All of us agreed on the same, and we enjoyed the coffee together...I was feeling uncomfortable with them a little bit. I barely said anything. I just answered the questions thrown by Twinkle and faked the smile to them. While returning home, I told Shivam about the conversation I had with my mom last day. He also wished the same that it could happen in real someday. He acted like gentle guy sometimes...
Every night after dinner, our group used to be active. At first, I rarely sent any message on it, but with time, I become so used to with them. We used to be always together in college. Sometimes, we hung out in cafes and used to visit various places in our city...
With no time, I became a good friend of them. Twinkle and Pooja both were good girls. They'd changed my perspective about them in a very little time...I enjoyed their company. I started feeling comfortable with them. The bond of friendship is inevitable indeed.
Twinkle was a talkative girl. She was like that chirpy bird that would keep chirping around you all the time. She was curious about things. She always wanted to know more about everything, everyone. On the other side, Pooja was relatively silent and decent. She used to speak to the point, and had a clear vision of what she wanted to do in her life...
One day, we were hanging out at a canteen enjoying our food. Suddenly, Twinkle got a phone call, and she went aside to talk over the phone. After few minutes, she came back with eyes full of tears...It felt so bad to see her crying, she avoided to tell the reason. Pooja tried to console her. Even Shivam and I also wanted to calm her down, but she went on crying. After some time, she finally calmed down and told us that it was her boyfriend's call. He was scolding her for no reason. There was a lot of misunderstandings between Twinkle and him. He was in a different college, studying in the commerce stream, and Twinkle had chosen the science stream... She said that her boyfriend thinks that she is cheating on him. Someone in the college told him that she always talks with boys and roam with them all around...
Ugh! that was too much nonsense. What's the meaning of being in such a relationship where there is no trust at all. Twinkle was all sure about him, but he was not. He always used to keep his eyes on her. I felt so discouraged seeing that happy girl sobbing because of such a nerd chap. Anyhow, she managed to be stable, and we came back home saying goodbye to them. I was disturbed by seeing all that. That night, no one messaged in the group. Twinkle was the only one who used to start the conversation usually...As she was silent, the whole group was quiet too. I couldn't resist messaging her. Late in the night, I asked her why she didn't send any message to the group. Her reply depicted how upset she was due to today's incident. We chatted for almost half an hour. I cracked some silly jokes to make her laugh; I tried to console her. "Thank you Sid for making me feel good. I was feeling so tensed and disturbed." She said.
"It's alright, please take care of yourself, dear. Good night." I replied and went to sleep, keeping my phone aside...It was all new for a conservative guy like me, who had no interest in making new friends at all, who was just used to be happy with his own company. But now I had realized that getting to know new people and gaining new friends is one of life's greatest pleasures...
