Nagisa x Fem!Reader

It's official, you suck at swimming.

Yes, you used to be on swim team; and yes, you made state when you were like, twelve. But that was before you quit so you and your family could move to Japan, and you haven't had the chance to practice since.

It's not your fault though, none of the schools you went to offered a swim club until now. You were finally going to high school, Iwatobi high school. You gripped your satchel tightly in your hand, and you grinned so big you cheeks were numb. You ran up the stairs and into the school. Looking around you found a bunch of clubs trying to persuade you to join. You kindly refused all of them, keeping an eye out for the swim club.

Then you found it, there was a blonde bouncing around in a swim cap and goggles, holding a kick board to his side. You ran up to him excitedly.

"I WANT TO JOIN THE SWIM CLUB!" you squealed, as he gave you the sign up form.

"I'm Nagisa, the captain. Oh! And that grumpy guy over there, that's Rei-chan," the blonde, whom you now knew as Nagisa, pointed over to a tall guy, with a small frown in his face.

"I'm not grumpy," Rei called back annoyed.

Nagisa only giggled, and gave you a smile. You handed him the form that you had filled out during his shenanigans; and he gave you the largest smile you had ever seen and said:

"Welcome to the swim club."

Your heart melted.

Okay so maybe it wasn't the best idea to fall in love with the captain of the team. I mean after all, he's kind of in charge of you.

"(Name)-chan! What stroke do you swim?" Nagisa asked.

"I do IMs, but back is my strongest stroke" you replied, playing with the cap tucked inside the bottom of your one piece.

"That's awesome! We've never had an IMer before! We can go to regionals with that," Nagisa gave you a quick hug and walked over to the other new members, getting the same information.

As he walked off, you noticed how his jammers hugged his butt nicely. You blushed, and slapped your cheeks, banishing the thought.

Bad (Name)! Bad!

After that ordeal happened, you stepped up onto the blocks, gripping the edge tightly.

"Take your mark," you whispered yourself, and made a buzzing noise in your head.

You dove into the water, dolphin kicking your way up to the surface. You began to flutter kick, and brought your arm out of the water in almost a 90 degree angle.

Of course you moved slow, you haven't swam in ages. But it felt nice to be back in the water to say the least.

"Go (Name)-chan!" You heard a person yell from the shore. You looked up, and saw Nagisa yelling from the blocks. You blushed, as you came up for a breath.

You finished the 50 free, and pulled out of the pool. Your legs were already wobbly, and your breath was short.

Agh, I really need to get in shape, you groaned to yourself.

And so practice went on.

Everybody had left, except for you. It was past five, and you were still at it. You weren't about to let your team down, so you continued to swim. Pushing off the wall, you dolphin kicked, and began to swim butterfly, your worst stroke. Granted, it's a really hard stroke to swim. You were speeding along until your foot clenched up.

Okay, okay, it's only a cramp. There's only 25 meters until the wall, just push through it, you continued to swim.

The pain only got worse, and it wasn't long until your other foot had a cramp in it too. You gasped holding you breath, as you dunked under the water. You tried to massage it out, but when you began to swim again it was only worse.

You weren't great at pulls even as a child, no way you were going to make it now; and of course you had to pick the middle lane so the side walls were too far away as well.

You kept dunking up and down, gasping as much air as you could in every breath that you took. You began to kick up for a breath, when your whole leg shot up with pain. You gasped under the water, bubbles going up to the surface. The chlorine stung your lungs. Suddenly you heard a splash, and a moment later you felt arms around your waist. The figure brought you up to the surface, and you gasped at air.

Tears welled in you eyes from the chemicals stinging at your eyes.

"(Name)-chan, are you okay? What were you thinking swimming until you were going to drown?! You gave me a heart attack!" you looked over and saw Nagisa holding you, treading over to the wall.

You only shook your head, and began to cry. He pulled you out of the pool and onto the concrete.

"Where does it hurt?" He asked gently.

You motioned to your legs. He moved over to them, and began to gently massage them. Man are you glad that you shaved today. His fingers worked at the muscles, soothing the pain.

"I'm sorry," you whispered.

"It's fine, just be more careful okay?" Nagisa gave you smile, and kissed your forehead gently.

"Let's get you home, okay?"

"Okay."

Nagisa helped you stand, and took you to the locker room.

"I'll be waiting outside, kay?" he gave you one last hug, "Don't scare me like that again."

You only nodded and went to get changed.

As you walked out of the locker room, sure enough there was Nagisa.

"Ready?" you could tell his bubbly self was starting to come back.

"Yup!" You grinned, grabbing his hand. It was entirely for security purposes. Yeah, that's why.

The two of you skipped along the side walk, it was nice having someone as insane as you. Furthermore the fact that it was a guy made it even better.

"Hey, (Name)-chan, look!" he pointed to the most adorable thing you have seen.

"No way! A giant penguin plush!" you squeaked out.

"You want it?" Nagisa asked.

"What? Oh no. You seriously don't have to buy me anything. Please don't I'd feel bad," you blushed slightly.

"Don't care," He ran off into the store buying the penguin.

He returned handing you the penguin that was half your height.

"Thank you," you hugged it, and water droplets from your hair fell onto the plush.

"No problem, it's almost as cute as you," Nagisa smiled and lead you back in the direction of your house.

Needless to say today was the best day ever. Well that is until he took you to see Fall Out Boy, but that's a story for another time.
